My friend for whom I have Power of Attorney is a difficult lady and can have behavioural problems when upset. She has now been in Pinetrees for over three years and is content and settled. Her physical and mental well-being is better than it has been for over a decade.

Reply from Ann Farrow, Regional Manager at Pine Trees Care Centre

Thank you for your kind review. I am so pleased that your friend is settled at Pine Trees. I will pass on your words to the staff team, who I know will be delighted.

Mum moved to Pine Trees on 28th May. The staff were very welcoming (despite the fact that we were early!
Mum had not had any lunch, so immediately was offered a choice of sandwich (freshly made) and a drink.

I have dropped in twice since then and every time have found Mum well (although confused because of her dementia) She has settled in very well, and is looking better than when she was at home.

Since arriving at Pine Trees Care Home my mother has had the best care she and we could have wished for. The staff and management are very friendly, extremely helpful, and above all give my mother all the attention she needs.
The food is excellent and the chefs are always asking my mother what she would like to eat every day.
My mother is diabetic and wheat intolerant and everyone in the home are aware of these needs and can’t do enough for her.
The home is very clean and tidy and my mother's room is fantastic with its own bathroom and walk-in shower facilities.

I would highly recommend Pine Trees to anyone.

Impressed once again to receive a written update to the visiting guidelines from Pine Trees today which I think were only announced yesterday. My mother has been there a year now since being diagnosed with vascular dementia and Alzheimer's and the team have done nothing but impress our family from day one. Their friendly support and the general stimulation of being there has improved my mother's quality of life ten fold from when she was alone at home, my father having passed away in 2019, not to mention the proper care and decent food that she now enjoys of course.

It's often considered that moving to a care home is the last resort for an elderly person but I feel that an earlier move can sometimes be quite beneficial if it improves mental stimulation and increases a person's integration with others. I couldn't praise the Manager and the staff at Pine Trees highly enough.

Pine Trees welcomed my wife on the 15th November from a "home" in Newquay. What a difference! From initial assessment the staff and management strove to make her future care and happiness their priority while "settling-in" If it wasn't for the caring staff it would have been more challenging and un-settling for her in her new place. I've been fortunate that I too have been involved with my wife's "care" The frequent visits have been appreciated along with the daily phone calls to her.

I also welcome the "festive" and entertainment ongoing in the lounge. Never a dull moment; and I was also allowed to have a meal lunch with her.

My friend has been cared for by the staff at Pine Trees Care Centre for approximately 3 years. As she has dementia she was confused and in poor health in the beginning, after very good care and nursing she has returned to good health and is very comfortable in her surroundings. The care home are extremely caring in their nursing of her and I’m sure it’s due to their professionalism that she is still with us today. Many thanks to the manager and his wonderful team.

Pine Trees Care Home provides a clean, caring, and stimulating environment for the care of residents. All the staff are friendly, dedicated, and professional in their care, looking after residents with dignity and patience. The initial assessment of my father was thorough and reassuring. The senior staff are very good with their ongoing communication to address any concerns, in order to sort any issues and medical emergencies with speed and efficiency. The food served at Pine Trees is varied and enjoyed by my father. The staff are approachable and willing to help. The daily activities for residents are excellent and very stimulating. The layout of the home is spacious but remains homely, being on one level. The opportunity to visit my father regularly has been greatly appreciated whilst also complying with covid restrictions and lateral flow tests. The staff are very caring also towards my elderly mother, who requires wheelchair access to visit my father. My father has settled well.

My Mum moved into Pine Trees on Christmas Eve and the staff did all they could to make her move a positive one at such a difficult time. Over the past 6 months, Mum has settled well into her new setting. The staff are attentive and always willing to listen and help out where possible and I feel have a genuine care for all of the residents. On a personal level, it is lovely to see a hand on a shoulder or for a member of staff to be holding a resident's hand offering comfort or reassurance. The catering team do an excellent job given the large number of meals they provide and they are always ready to offer options if there are any particular dislikes. The bedding always look clean and fresh and the laundry service is excellent (nothing lost as yet). The rooms are well-appointed with matching furniture and are nicely decorated and cosy. A well-managed home with very hardworking and caring staff. Activities are provided and the patio area provides a nice area to sit out.

Excellent accommodation with light airy rooms and toilet facilities. Residents are extremely well looked after and treated with a great deal of respect. I cannot praise the staff highly enough, everyone I've met has been helpful, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.

My Aunt has been residing at Pine Trees Residential Care Home for approximately 17 months and is extremely happy there. The staff are kind and caring, she is very fond of them and they are fond of her and appreciate her sense of humour. Visitors are made to feel welcome too. I and my family are so pleased that she is being so well cared for.

My Nan had been a resident at Pine Trees since July last year. Unfortunately, she is now on end of life. The carers and management have been nothing but caring and compassionate to my Nan and us as a family. She has been made comfortable and the senior team and management have kept us informed of any changes to her care or how she is herself.

My mother has been at Pine Trees since October 2019, is wheelchair-bound and has increasingly severe vascular dementia. As the home is all on one level this has greatly helped her to get around under her own steam which has been important to her. The staff have been so wonderful in attending to her increased mental health support needs, which have inevitably increased during Covid, and are at hand to issue support and reassurance when she gets confused and distressed. Both her dignity and privacy are well respected. She loves the activities and has made friends which has really helped her. The food is good - Mum is a vegetarian and the chef always tries to vary her food as much as possible with plenty of fresh fruit and veg. The home is immaculate and they also have a well-organised laundry. Communication with the home has been excellent, even during these difficult times, and having had a difficult year myself, I feel supported too. Highly recommend.

We moved my Dad into Pine Trees in November 2020 after being diagnosed with Vascular Dementia as my Mum was no longer able to meet his increasing needs at home. The staff at Pine Trees have been wonderful. They listened to all our concerns and helped make the move as stress-free as it could be and Dad is now settled and stable in his new home and has made new friends. The ever-changing situation with Covid has meant that the management has had to be proactive in ensuring the health and safety of residents and staff alike, and whilst visiting in the traditional form is not currently possible, they have tried to help Dad to maintain regular contact with his family and we are lucky that we can still see him through his window as all rooms are on the ground floor.

The staff at Pine Trees genuinely care for the residents. The new manager and his deputy are both extremely competent healthcare professionals. They are kind and empathetic, and I know Dad is in good hands.

My sister has been a resident of Pine Trees Care Centre since December 2020. During her short stay managers went the extra mile to enable my sister to become a resident at short notice, after such disappointing care at her previous nursing home. At Pine Trees, staff also come across as caring and understanding towards residents' needs. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home to any prospective resident based on the time my sister has been a resident there.

As a family, we have been very pleased with the care that our mother has had at this care home for almost 5 years. We have found the staff to be approachable, caring and very friendly and feel confident that even in these very difficult times of lockdown she is still being treated with dignity, respect and "loved". If there has been an issue with illness they have told us immediately. However, I would have liked a monthly chat with her Key Worker whilst we have not been able to visit so that we can have an update if there are things that she needs and about her general well being - whilst I have suggested this - it still has not happened. We have been able to speak to her regularly now that we provided an iPad for the home to use, and it is never too much trouble for the staff to set up a Zoom call with me and her family on a weekly basis. The new Manager is enthusiastic and have appreciated his setting up a Facebook page for the home so we have photos of the residents.

Of course, I would prefer my mother to be home with me but I can honestly say that the Pine Trees in Hayle is the best care home she could be in. The staff are caring and always ready to answer any of your concerns and mum is looking well she loves all the careers and again she would rather be home but has no complaints about the standard of care she is receiving. I will and indeed have recommended The Pine Trees to my friends and will continue to do so.

Management and care staff look after all residents like family. They all get treated with respect. If I have any concerns it's dealt with by the manager straight away. Carers are very friendly and easy to speak to. The carehome is kept clean and homely. I know that if my mum has any worries then she has no problem talking with the manager. It has excellent standards thanks to the manager who keeps on top of anything that needs doing.
