Gittisham Hill House Care Home

If anyone is looking for a wonderful caring home in the Honiton area you need to look no further.

Since Mum has been at Gittisham Hill House, there has been a vast improvement in her all-round. The care she receives is of a high standard. I visit daily, so I see how the staff work. I couldn't recommend this home more highly. Very professional as well as being very friendly, clean and great meals. Staff are very attentive.

My husband has been a resident of Gittisham Hill House for a year now. The house has a home's decor and atmosphere, though feels rather shug for the amount t of residents. The staff are friendly and caring, and the care my husband's receiving is exceptional. Residents have good entertainment, activities, quiz, crafts, etc. However, some physical activities and time outdoors for fresh air would be beneficial as well. The management and care have improved dramatically since the new manager and the new team has come in mid-year. I must thank the manager and the staff for the support I personally get as well. I am included in my husband's care, and visits are accommodated well in current difficult circumstances. Yes, I would recommend Gittisham Hill House.

The care my mother received has been exceptional. The staff were so respectful to her in life and in death, it was a truly great comfort to me knowing how well she was looked after - especially during Covid times when visiting was limited. It was clear that they loved her and vice versa. My mother had anxiety and they supported her so well with this. During the end of life, the care was amazing, so supportive to my mum but also to my sister and I. I would highly recommend this home.

First respite for my elderly mother with memory issues. She very much enjoyed her stay, staff were warm and friendly, nice environment, food lovely, manager very welcoming, left looking very well and improved, hope to return, would recommend to anyone

All the staff are very good with my sister. She seems very happy when I see her. They are all very caring. All give me a kind word. No one is miserable.

Gittisham Hill House Care Home is very good and the staff are extremely kind and caring. Everyone is treated with the utmost respect and my husband is very contented living there. I feel that for £1000 a week the room is rather small but it is comfortable. All the other amenities are very good. I am always made to feel welcome and in these difficult times, the staff do their very best to be helpful. I feel we are very fortunate to have this amenity in the village.

I find the staff to be very friendly and open. I know that my mother feels really relaxed and taken care of. And gets on well with the members of the care team.

The care for my husband is excellent. He has settled very well, thanks to the kindness and cheerfulness of all the staff. I always feel very welcome when visiting. I've met the other relatives at social events organised by the staff. I am so glad I found this care home for my husband.

My parents have settled in well to living at Gittisham Hill House. They are both well looked after in a sensitive and caring way. The staff are excellent and I am sure my mother would no longer be with us if she had not moved into the home.

Care home situated in beautiful grounds. The home and rooms are kept very clean and tidy. The carers are always helpful and informative, and it is easy to contact the home when needed. The atmosphere is quiet and positive. The residents seem settled and as happy as can be expected. The home takes all interest in both residents and their relatives, which is very important. A smile goes a long way.

Very caring home with happy and well-fed residents. Well staffed with kind and caring people.

My father has now been a resident at Gittisham Hill House for three months. He is always clean, tidy and well dressed. Any requests he makes for drinks and food are always addressed. He is not an early riser but this is so well catered for that it no longer worries me. The staff are always friendly and are always happy to answer questions, whatever time we visit.

I cannot commend this home higher for its service.
