Overall Experience

I would thoroughly recommend Rose lodge to anyone wishing to find a care home for their loved one. The owners, manager and staff go beyond their duties in the care and support given not only to my husband but also myself and family. The care is excellent, my husband loves his new room, his ongoing daily activities, especially when it is not raining and he can help in the garden, either tending the flower beds, brushing the paths, feeding the animals, painting the fence or in his own words, topping up his suntan. Since he has been at Rose Lodge he has a different out;look on life and he is very happy, which means a lot to me.

My mother moved into Rose Lodge in June 2015 after being in her own home for 43 years. This was a very big thing for her, she has settled in ok. The staff are very caring, make a big fuss of her, never leaving her on her own when I leave after a visit.

There is always something going on for them to do or being entertained, with outside people. I can visit any time and never feel in the way; and always get offered a cup of tea. They take her out on little trips. I really do feel I couldn't have found anywhere better for her, if she has to be in care, I am more than happy with the care she receives, up to now.

Mum says "It's lovely here, couldn't be better." As a family, both children and grandchildren, we have really been made welcome enabling such vital relationships to be maintained. From the moment mum saw the lovely garden from her room she was happy. To arrive and find her sitting safely in the sun at peace, is such a gift. Her daily walks, often on the beach, make all the difference to mum's quality of life. The wonderful staff have taken the time to get to know mum and make it as much a home from home as possible. We cannot thank them enough.

Rose Lodge provides residents with a sense of home. The staff are its greatest assets. They go the extra mile, they do it willingly and cheerfully. They make my life easier, nothing has ever been too much trouble. My father is, as I write, dying. The care they are providing my dad and us as a family is wonderful. Beyond the call of duty.

A no nonsense home which never ceases to amaze at the level of interaction, care and affection they have for their residents including my mother. I am free to come and go as I please- at meal times am always offered to join them. They, in my experience, always take a pro active approach to any problem and are willing to/happy to take the families views into their care plans. I couldn't recommend more highly.
