Rose Lawn is a charming property, a pleasant place to live and visit and an ideal choice for a wide range of care needs.

Carers are skilled in a variety of nursing needs, help residents to practice independent living and enjoy the activities residents wish to pursue.

The care provision is based on a strong Christian ethos, while carers are trained to take a holistic approach and in achieving best practice.

Rose Lawn hosts Holy Communion once a month, and is also able to provide support to those wishing to attend church.

Rose Lawn provides respite that can be booked in advance and allows carers or family some rest whilst their loved ones are looked after in a kind, caring way.

Rose Lawn overlooks the rugby field and has a shaded seating area where you can sit and enjoy the view or even watch a game of rugby.

In the garden, residents can sit and enjoy the water features and the lovely flowers that surround the sensory garden.

Rose Lawn offers many activities from weekly Pilates sessions to caking club and flower arranging

There is a wide range of entertainers who visit each month. Each year Rose Lawn holds a Summer Party and a Christmas Party, where all family and friends are welcome.

Rose Lawn has monthly visits from Grace the therapy dog, who is happy to provide big fluffy cuddles to those that want them.

This is a friendly, pleasant and welcoming community - family-run and well organised.
"Overall experience" would have achieved "excellent" had the laundry come back to the right room after having been washed but this was not always the case even if the garments have been correctly labelled.

Generally excellent. My father has been a resident since April 2021, now happy and settled and very pleased with his care. Recently, issues of short staff have meant longer waits for care and fewer activities. Hopefully, this is only temporary. The only area I would describe as poor is the passing on
to residents of phone messages, staff have said they will pass a message but this often doesn't happen.

A very happy stay and would stay again. The activities program every week shows what's on. Food is all freshly made. To menus every day for lunch. Plenty of everything. Staff so helpful and look after all the time. Very well run home with excellent care.

During difficult Covid times, Mum was made extremely welcome on arrival and every effort has been made since then to help her with her mobility, state of mind and medical appointments. She loves the food and has started eating properly again. Everyone is cheerful and helpful but at the same time, the
home has ensured everyone is safe and following Covid guidelines. As far as I know, there has been no Covid at the Home which gives relatives peace of mind. Looking forward to seeing her room and how the home is during normal times. Please note, Covid has not enabled me to see her room, so I can only put 'satisfactory' in the mandated item below.

Unfortunately, 2020 was a difficult year for us all. I only managed to visit Mum a few times, although I continued to speak to her. However, throughout all the Covid problems, you have kept me well informed. I can't thank you enough for all you do for my mum.

My mum was a resident of Rose Lawn for the last six months of her life. Throughout her time there staff and carers were all so respectful and compassionate ensuring that my mum was treated with dignity and respect. Probably the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make is where my mum could live, if she
couldn’t live with us and what I’m pleased to be able to say is that they looked after my mum beautifully. Staff are always approachable and responsive to any request that I had that were individual to Mum's needs. I felt they treated Mum as an individual and took time to get to know her lovely personality.

In common with many who seek the best care home for a parent with mild but demanding dementia, we shortlisted and personally visited a handful in the area. Rose Lawn stands out in many ways compared with the others, the building is pleasantly light, airy and clean (but not clinical) and has a homely
feel. Outside are open views bounded by beautiful trees and buildings, near to shops and seafront. A well run home with excellent caring staff who balance offering a daily routine structure with the needs and desires of residents. Various rest/entertainment and enrichment areas in house and opportunities for local and day trips out complete a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended.

My mum has lived here for just over 12 months and in that time I have found all the staff to be very enthusiastic and professional. The home is continually being decorated and being presented in a very favourable light.
A great deal of effort is made to try to keep the residents stimulated and entertained.

A lovely care home, light, spacious and calm. Wonderful open outlook at the back. The staff are so patient and caring. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum took a while to settle in, but so glad she has, as it would be very hard to find another home that matches up to the qualities of this one. Visitors
always made welcome at any time.

On arrival at the home, I was welcomed and offered tea/coffee. While in the home all the staff I saw spoke and said hello, they also on passing my friends room looked in and spoke to her. I find the care given to my friend to be exceptional. All the staff are caring, supportive and professional. The
management team are fantastic leading by example having their finger on the pulse - Excellent.

Christina is the manager at Rose Lawn and her positive approach to any problem is known to provide a calming presence over the whole community. Christina has 13 years of experience working in the care sector and has held positions such as Night Carer and Team Leader. Her biggest achievement would be completing her NVQ in Health and Social Care. In her free time, Christina enjoys taking her dog, Mambo on walks and attending concerts.

Kathryn

Kathryn Light

Job Title: Community Coordinator Joined: 2017

Kathryn is in charge of the activity programme at Rose Lawn, as well as social media. She has worked in the care industry for over 15 years, and in every department from Team Leader to Kitchen Assistant. Whilst Kathryn has an NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care, her biggest achievement was being able to support one of the Rose Lawn residents to visit Kew Gardens in London. In her spare time, Kathryn enjoys video gaming and spending time with her boyfriend and dog, Zelda.
