We take our mother to see him as often a possible. She is very frail and finds it exhausting. He is often sleeping when we arrive. We are working with the current manager to try and arrange for dad to be awake when we visit. We are very happy with dad's care and believe he is happy and contented.

Thornfield has a staff of excellent carers who have had a challenging year since the change of management and additional tasks. They have ensured residents are the focus of their care and attention, even when staff issues have occured: they deserve praise. I hope the arrival of a permanent manager and full time assistance will ensure a stable future. Thornfield has a wonderful 'front of house' 'welcomer', who deer very much more than 'reception'. My family really appreciates Thornfield's 'open door' policy and hope it continues.

But they have managed to get him out of his room, as he was always in it even at meal times. I'm very happy as he seems to be as happy as he can be.
