Overall Experience

My father lived at Castle Farm for 14-months, having chosen to move into residential care. He welcomed the excellent food, friendly atmosphere, lively activities and well cared for home and gardens. At all times he was made to consider Castle Farm as his home where he was welcome to invite friends for a meal and to visit. Over recent months his health deteriorated, and he had to rely on the excellent care of the staff and the oversight of his medical needs. Although he found his increasing dependence frustrating, high-quality care was maintained throughout. Relatives were always welcomed and any requests considered. Owing to the demands of Covid 19, additional challenges arose, but communication was maintained and contact with residents was a priority. As end of life care became necessary, visits were facilitated for close family and all his needs were attended to with sensitive communication with relatives. We were so grateful that our father was living at Castle Farm.

My mother only moved into Castle Farm in November but she was made to feel like a member of the family. The staff were more than friendly and helpful. When she, unfortunately, passed away in April the management and staff made it easier for me to get things rolling (always a difficult time so any burden taken off of you is a godsend.) and made me feel like they really cared. I can't recommend them enough.

We are very happy with the excellent, patient care our elderly father is receiving at Castle Farm. He has settled in really well after a time and now is contented and happy with his new life here.

The food is very good, which he greatly enjoys. The carers are super and know him and his many idiosyncrasies well. He is treated with dignity and patience. He enjoys some of the activities and often is found in the garden and greenhouse.

Overall Experience
A relative recently spent the last 7 years of her life at Castle Farm.
She died aged 101.
The care and attention she received from all the staff were second to none.
Without exception, she was treated with dignity and respect as her health and independence gradually declined.
Castle Farm is the best care home I have ever visited.
The manager and all the staff should be extremely proud of the homely, caring environment that they maintain day by day.

Thank you.

Castle Farm Care Home is run by a wonderful manager who has a heavy workload but always has time for residents and family alike. The residents enjoy their activities, especially the visiting musicians and everyone sings along. Each resident has individual needs and these are met sympathetically. It has has a professional yet family atmosphere and we would not hesitate in recommending Castle Farm Care Home.

The home is in excellent condition and the staff are always friendly.
When I need to take my mother for an appointment she is all ready for me even at 8.30 in the morning.
The food is great with it being freshly cooked and there is a good choice.

The manager is friendly and all the staff go out of their way to help with anything.

Overall Experience

This is a warm, caring environment set on the edge of a Dorset Village. It is a small and welcoming home, providing excellent care for its residents. Each resident has their own room and are encouraged to bring personal items to make it their own. The staff are extremely helpful and there is always someone available. I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment.

My mother became a resident in 2007 until her death in 2010, aged 102. Castle Farm was the only possible place as she had very exacting standards. She had previously spent some time in respite and love the homely atmosphere, local staff and caring nature of all. My husband and I became volunteers in 2010, running weekly bingo sessions and I have continued to do this after his sudden death in 2014. I have been absorbed into this caring world, sharing Christmas with the residents in 2014, having no family. A very special home.
