Claremont Lodge Care Home with Nursing

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My parents were both cared for at Claremont Lodge. I have nothing but praise and thanks to the whole team who looked after them so well. My mother was there for a relatively short time before she died in 2019. My father who suffered from MS was a resident for 17 years. As his condition worsened over
time the manager went to enormous lengths to make sure that he had the necessary equipment to help him to keep his independence, and latterly to ensure the best possible comfort when he was bedridden.
The carers were so good to him. Patient, understanding, humorous, and so diligent with his physical care. As a family we can't thank them enough for all they did right up to his death.

My brother spent six weeks at Claremont for palliative care. His room was peaceful and comfortable, and the care he received from every member of staff was exceptional. Their kindness and empathy extended not only to him but also to our whole family. We are deeply grateful for the compassion and support
shown during such a difficult time

I am extremely pleased with the way my mother of 92 is being looked after. The staff and management are very friendly and helpful to her. They have a friendly chat to her as well. My mother is difficult to deal with, but Forest Hill House have done excellently with her, and she has settled well. She
wants to stay at the nursing home and likes cleaners, care staff, management and activities.

Aspley House is amazing. My family cannot thank the home enough for looking after my mum for over 6 years. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with a smile and a hello from one of the many staff who, in many cases, have been working at the home the whole time. The home always smells and looks
clean and homely. It is warm and comforting. The staff, every one of them, always took time with mum, and treated her with enormous dignity and affection. They were so kind and thoughtful. My family can't thank and praise the home for making mum's final years as comfortable as possible. Thank you, thank you.

My father-in-law moved to this care home just over a year ago. It is unlike any I have visited, all the staff are happy to be there, and therefore this rubs off on the care they give. I would go as far to say it's one in a million and its a true credit to the manager Denise and her 39 staff. Sadly,
my father in law has now just passed but even that was dealt with in the most dignified way. This home deserves 5 stars and will be almost impossible to be beaten.

My mother came to Castle Farm Care Home in July 2025 after a diagnosis of dementia and alzheimers. She was immediately made to feel welcome within a friendly and caring environment. Staff are very kind and quick to meet my mum's needs and always have a positive approach. She enjoys the afternoon activities
and occasional trips out. One of the main strengths of the care home is that there are only a few residents and the staff are consistent which helps mum to feel safe and avoids her getting unnecessarily confused.

Mum's care has been excellent. All the things that are important to her and us are provided with care, dignity and warmth. She often says she is living so long because she is being well looked after so well. The overall standard is excellent with special mention for the staff, food and the way she is
treated.

We could not have asked for better care for Mum in her final months. She was treated with such kindness, care and compassion by the whole team.
We were always warmly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble.
Each and every one of the team were respectful and developed a genuine rapport with Mum
and the family which helped us through such a difficult time.
We cannot thank them enough.

An excellent care home, where every member of staff makes you feel important and nothing is too much trouble. My dad went to the home following several periods in hospital and was not at all well. Within a very short time, he had a new lease of life and was back to joining in the variety of activities
on offer daily. The food is of a very high standard with excellent choices. They made my dad's final year one to remember. Thank you.

My father in law was in the care of Larks Leas rest home for the last six years of his life. Throughout his stay there, he was cared for at all times with complete dignity and respect. Nothing was ever too much trouble and the management and care team went above and beyond at all times to make his stay
with them as pleasurable as possible. If asked to sum up in a few words what Larks is truly like, I would have to say a real home from home with unconditional care and kindness from the whole of the team and a genuine want to please and look after the residents. In our experience we felt that the Larks team treated all the residents as individuals and were always thoughtful and considerate towards them. As well as the usual holidays and high days, milestone birthdays or celebrations were never overlooked without a wonderful social gathering or party taking place. My family and I would not hesitate in thoroughly recommending Larks Leas for your nearest and dearest. Such wonderful care xx

I suffered a stroke on 23rd December 2024 and admitted to hospital. I was then transferred to Apsley House on 30th January 2025. I have been under their care until I was discharged on 29th December 2025. During my stay at Apsley House, my needs were looked after by excellent staff and always a friendly
atmosphere. In addition to my medical needs the home arranged regular entertainment and the residents were encouraged to participate. The non-medical staff provided enjoyable food and my laundry was well looked after. I would also like to praise the management, office and maintenance staff.

From the moment my nan was transferred to Herons Park, it was clear she wasn't just another resident. She was treated with genuine affection - the staff are outstanding. They always took the time to talk to her, reassure her and made her feel safe and loved.
The end of life care she received was especially
outstanding. It was dignified, gentle, and thoughtful. The staff were also incredibly supportive of us as a family too. Thank you.
