My mother came to Castle Farm Care Home in July 2025 after a diagnosis of dementia and alzheimers. She was immediately made to feel welcome within a friendly and caring environment. Staff are very kind and quick to meet my mum's needs and always have a positive approach. She enjoys the afternoon activities
and occasional trips out. One of the main strengths of the care home is that there are only a few residents and the staff are consistent which helps mum to feel safe and avoids her getting unnecessarily confused.

Mum's care has been excellent. All the things that are important to her and us are provided with care, dignity and warmth. She often says she is living so long because she is being well looked after so well. The overall standard is excellent with special mention for the staff, food and the way she is
treated.

We could not have asked for better care for Mum in her final months. She was treated with such kindness, care and compassion by the whole team.
We were always warmly welcomed and nothing was too much trouble.
Each and every one of the team were respectful and developed a genuine rapport with Mum
and the family which helped us through such a difficult time.
We cannot thank them enough.

An excellent care home, where every member of staff makes you feel important and nothing is too much trouble. My dad went to the home following several periods in hospital and was not at all well. Within a very short time, he had a new lease of life and was back to joining in the variety of activities
on offer daily. The food is of a very high standard with excellent choices. They made my dad's final year one to remember. Thank you.

My father in law was in the care of Larks Leas rest home for the last six years of his life. Throughout his stay there, he was cared for at all times with complete dignity and respect. Nothing was ever too much trouble and the management and care team went above and beyond at all times to make his stay
with them as pleasurable as possible. If asked to sum up in a few words what Larks is truly like, I would have to say a real home from home with unconditional care and kindness from the whole of the team and a genuine want to please and look after the residents. In our experience we felt that the Larks team treated all the residents as individuals and were always thoughtful and considerate towards them. As well as the usual holidays and high days, milestone birthdays or celebrations were never overlooked without a wonderful social gathering or party taking place. My family and I would not hesitate in thoroughly recommending Larks Leas for your nearest and dearest. Such wonderful care xx

I suffered a stroke on 23rd December 2024 and admitted to hospital. I was then transferred to Apsley House on 30th January 2025. I have been under their care until I was discharged on 29th December 2025. During my stay at Apsley House, my needs were looked after by excellent staff and always a friendly
atmosphere. In addition to my medical needs the home arranged regular entertainment and the residents were encouraged to participate. The non-medical staff provided enjoyable food and my laundry was well looked after. I would also like to praise the management, office and maintenance staff.

From the moment my nan was transferred to Herons Park, it was clear she wasn't just another resident. She was treated with genuine affection - the staff are outstanding. They always took the time to talk to her, reassure her and made her feel safe and loved.
The end of life care she received was especially
outstanding. It was dignified, gentle, and thoughtful. The staff were also incredibly supportive of us as a family too. Thank you.

The management could not have been more helpful from the first phone call to enquire, then from hospital to their care, was stress free and very efficient, always with a smile and all the staff of every part of the care home had the same courtesy and respect. Add to that the food was excellent.

I cannot thank Becky and all the care staff at Lark Leas enough for their professionalism and care. My Aunt resided at Lark Leas for several years before she passed away in November 2025. The warm family atmosphere at Lark Leas gave our family much comfort knowing my Aunt was well cared for and happy.
She enjoyed the activities laid on every day, particularly the singing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lark Leas and the care team for their kindness and care.

My mother came here after a 3 week stay in hospital and was treated with respect and care during her 3 week stay at Apsley House. The staff were very attentive and made her as comfortable as possible. The manager was very approachable and helpful. The room was kept clean, and the food was ok, although
my mum didn't eat much in the end. Would recommend Apsley House.

All of the team are so lovely and kind. Even when you're walking in the corridors, the staff greet you and had lovely things/stories to tell about my Grandad. There is such a lovely atmosphere there, and beautiful Xmas decorations to make the residents feel at home. They are such a supportive team,
and really looked after my Grandad well. I am so grateful that he went to such a lovely care home with such amazing and caring staff members. You can tell that the staff members really care about all of the residents, and they are always trying to help in any way they can. It is so lovely that they have Xmas activities planned out for the residents in December too.

Apsley House Care Home has been very good for John. When he left hospital he was in a very poor state, having not been out of bed and dressed for two or three weeks, not eating very much as food was placed on a table in front of him, left there for a while when he was asleep and then taken away. He
lost weight. Apsley House provided the care he was so in need of, he ate all the food they could give him and more - and enjoyed it. He enjoyed being dressed and looking smart. He took part in some of the activities, especially quizzes and musical events. He had a wonderful 90th birthday there.

We chose Apsley House Care Home for my Dad to receive respite care after a long stay in hospital. He was very poorly, underweight and had lost his mobility. He has dementia. The manager and staff are professional, friendly and thoughtful towards both residents and their families. Dad is treated as an
individual, and they have all taken time to get to know him. They re-established is dignity and motivation through daily routines.
My dad was helped to learn to feed himself again, with thoughtful and simple adaptations. He enjoys the delicious meals, which offer quality and range. He is now well nourished again. The nursing staff have kept us well informed and followed up on any medical concerns we have had. Interesting daily planned activities have encouraged him to take part and interact with enjoyment. The thoughtfulness of the staff made my dad and our family feel special on his birthday. Thanks to the hard work and skills of the staff, we are now celebrating that my dad is well enough to return home.

Every time we visited our friend, over the year+ that she was an Apsley House resident, we found her happy, well cared for and full of praise of the staff. Her room was clean and as tidy as she would allow. When we visited the staff welcomed us and the Manager was especially helpful on the occasions
we met her. The house was always calm and had a pleasant atmosphere.

Claremont Lodge Care Home with Nursing

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My grandmother moved into Claremont Lodge with just six weeks estimated to live, having had a number of very serious health issues and complications. She was in a very bad way and in honesty we were all prepared for her to be at Claremont for a very short period. However, every week she got better and
better until she was back to her usual happy and healthy self and looking much better cared for than she even did at home. Her nails and hair were done weekly and she was really thriving. She adored all of the staff, and never made a single complaint in any way. This week, she very sadly passed away, very peacefully, in her sleep - and two years later than we expected her to. We honestly believe the brilliant care she received is the reason for this, and we are so grateful to everyone for their amazing support and care they gave her. I would highly recommend this home to anyone- I worried that she'd never be as happy as she was in her own home - but she really was. Thank you all x

My mum passed away in Aspley house after a stroke, mum had only been there for 14 months but felt very welcomed as my mum was a very independent lady .The care my mum received was exceptional the care and dedication was faultless. As a family who live 350 Miles away
It was not easy to pop down .
Denise
the manageress went above and beyond her duties knowing we live far away and would often chat/laugh with mum.If there was ever a problem or denise wanted to know
something she would contact me. When we went to see mum we would have a chat with denise to catch up on things and all was well and my mum never complained about anything so all was good .
You hear some horror stories about some care homes not this one, in my opinion its exceptional thank you all

Sandra (daughter)
As a family we felt as ease with mum's care, all the staff that we came in contact with.
