I found the home looked very clean and smelt fresh. The staff were very friendly and showed kindness. I was kept informed, as to when my father was not too well. He enjoyed the food choices and the help given to him, with his meals. There were various activities he joined in, he especially liked the singing. I was made to feel welcome, each time I visited. I can't thank the staff enough for the care and support they gave him.

Claremont Lodge was a true blessing during our dear friend's 8-week stay there. The entire team provided an exceptional level of care, blending absolute professionalism with deep, genuine compassion. They treated her with incredible warmth and dignity every single day, while offering wonderful support to us. We cannot thank them enough for their kindness and reassurance during a difficult time. My wife has just been in residence for a few days. I am very impressed with the care she is receiving and their ability to cope with her resistance due to her condition (advanced Alzheimer's). Their anticipation of what is going to be required is testament to good training there is a good atmosphere and everyone is very helpful. There is a feeling of care which was lacking in her previous care home.

I cannot speak highly enough of Claremont Lodge. In January 2025, Mum had a fall and broke her hip. After four weeks in hospital, her Parkinson's had progressed and her mobility was severely reduced. As a family, we had to accept that Dad could no longer safely care for her at home, so we began looking for alternatives. Everyone we spoke to who knew Claremont Lodge praised it - and now we understand why. Every member of staff has shown Mum exceptional care, compassion and respect. They are consistently understanding, empathetic and always protect her dignity. The office team, nurses, catering staff, cleaners, gardeners, activity coordinators and carers are warm and welcoming to Mum and to all of us when we visit. We've all heard horror stories about care homes, but our experience of Claremont Lodge has been entirely positive.

I ought to say that, after a heart issue last year I spent a week at Claremont and observed the place from the inside, as it were. It was just the same for me so I have no hesitation in recommending Claremont Lodge. Before my wife entered the place and since then, I have had many comments from friends and members of the public and every one of these comments has been positive.

The carers were so good to him. Patient, understanding, humorous, and so diligent with his physical care. As a family we can't thank them enough for all they did right up to his death.

My brother spent six weeks at Claremont for palliative care. His room was peaceful and comfortable, and the care he received from every member of staff was exceptional. Their kindness and empathy extended not only to him but also to our whole family. We are deeply grateful for the compassion and support shown during such a difficult time

Aspley House is amazing. My family cannot thank the home enough for looking after my mum for over 6 years. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted with a smile and a hello from one of the many staff who, in many cases, have been working at the home the whole time. The home always smells and looks clean and homely. It is warm and comforting. The staff, every one of them, always took time with mum, and treated her with enormous dignity and affection. They were so kind and thoughtful. My family can't thank and praise the home for making mum's final years as comfortable as possible. Thank you, thank you.

My father-in-law moved to this care home just over a year ago. It is unlike any I have visited, all the staff are happy to be there, and therefore this rubs off on the care they give. I would go as far to say it's one in a million and its a true credit to the manager Denise and her 39 staff. Sadly, my father in law has now just passed but even that was dealt with in the most dignified way. This home deserves 5 stars and will be almost impossible to be beaten.

An excellent care home, where every member of staff makes you feel important and nothing is too much trouble. My dad went to the home following several periods in hospital and was not at all well. Within a very short time, he had a new lease of life and was back to joining in the variety of activities on offer daily. The food is of a very high standard with excellent choices. They made my dad's final year one to remember. Thank you.

I suffered a stroke on 23rd December 2024 and admitted to hospital. I was then transferred to Apsley House on 30th January 2025. I have been under their care until I was discharged on 29th December 2025. During my stay at Apsley House, my needs were looked after by excellent staff and always a friendly atmosphere. In addition to my medical needs the home arranged regular entertainment and the residents were encouraged to participate. The non-medical staff provided enjoyable food and my laundry was well looked after. I would also like to praise the management, office and maintenance staff.

My mother came here after a 3 week stay in hospital and was treated with respect and care during her 3 week stay at Apsley House. The staff were very attentive and made her as comfortable as possible. The manager was very approachable and helpful. The room was kept clean, and the food was ok, although my mum didn't eat much in the end. Would recommend Apsley House.

Apsley House Care Home has been very good for John. When he left hospital he was in a very poor state, having not been out of bed and dressed for two or three weeks, not eating very much as food was placed on a table in front of him, left there for a while when he was asleep and then taken away. He lost weight. Apsley House provided the care he was so in need of, he ate all the food they could give him and more - and enjoyed it. He enjoyed being dressed and looking smart. He took part in some of the activities, especially quizzes and musical events. He had a wonderful 90th birthday there.

My dad was helped to learn to feed himself again, with thoughtful and simple adaptations. He enjoys the delicious meals, which offer quality and range. He is now well nourished again. The nursing staff have kept us well informed and followed up on any medical concerns we have had. Interesting daily planned activities have encouraged him to take part and interact with enjoyment. The thoughtfulness of the staff made my dad and our family feel special on his birthday. Thanks to the hard work and skills of the staff, we are now celebrating that my dad is well enough to return home.

Every time we visited our friend, over the year+ that she was an Apsley House resident, we found her happy, well cared for and full of praise of the staff. Her room was clean and as tidy as she would allow. When we visited the staff welcomed us and the Manager was especially helpful on the occasions we met her. The house was always calm and had a pleasant atmosphere.

My grandmother moved into Claremont Lodge with just six weeks estimated to live, having had a number of very serious health issues and complications. She was in a very bad way and in honesty we were all prepared for her to be at Claremont for a very short period. However, every week she got better and better until she was back to her usual happy and healthy self and looking much better cared for than she even did at home. Her nails and hair were done weekly and she was really thriving. She adored all of the staff, and never made a single complaint in any way. This week, she very sadly passed away, very peacefully, in her sleep - and two years later than we expected her to. We honestly believe the brilliant care she received is the reason for this, and we are so grateful to everyone for their amazing support and care they gave her. I would highly recommend this home to anyone- I worried that she'd never be as happy as she was in her own home - but she really was. Thank you all x
