From the initial phone call to find out if you had space for my mum who needed some convalescence after a hip replacement, right through to doing her laundry for her ready to leave, our experience of Hampton House has been absolutely superb. The level of care given by your dedicated team of staff has
been first class, nothing was ever too much trouble and you made Mum feel so welcome. She loved all the lovely home-cooked food and pampering including hairdressers and chiropodist. Some good old fashioned TLC has given her breathing space to build her energies and confidence to go home and continue her recovery. We can't thank you enough for taking such wonderful care of our 'special cargo' and we won't hesitate to recommend your services going forward.
Reply from Roz Elliott, Owner at The HamptonsThank you so much for taking the time to provide such a wonderful review! We were delighted you choose Hampton House for the convalescence for Mum. It was our pleasure to care for her during her stay and we're all delighted to know that you have rated us 5 stars ***** across all the range of services.

Re last 12 months
My mother came in for respite while we had a holiday and was then marooned by Covid, but this allowed us to continue in front line NHS roles.
My mother has been settled and content at Hampton House and says she would recommend it to anyone. She does not give faint praise and this
is an excellent mark from her. The care staff have been tactful and supportive to her and to us. She particularly likes the fact that the staff are a locally based group who are stable. They get to know and enjoy the residents well.
Our mother has really enjoyed looking out at the well-kept garden. She has also enjoyed the home-cooked food.
When we could visit, we were always made welcome. The house was always calm. We never heard residents who were uttering distress or who seemed to have hygiene issues, both of which we have experienced elsewhere.
We are so grateful for the quality care and for the fact that Hampton House created and maintained Covid security throughout a difficult time.
Reply from Roz Elliott, Owner at The HamptonsThank you for posting your review. It is our pleasure to care for your mother, and for us to know that you have been able to continue your valuable NHS roles, during the Covid-19 pandemic. We pride ourselves on our local, reliable and dedicated team of staff. We know the stability and continuity of our professional team, means we can consistently deliver high standards of care to our residents. Your positive review helps us to build on the enviable reputation that Hampton House has become known for, and enjoys. Thank you.

My aunt wisely chose to come and live at Hampton House four years ago. The care and attention she has received has been second to none. She has made friends, has been comfortable and able to live happily and safely. The staff keep a watchful eye without intruding and treat all the residents with the
utmost respect. Being able to live your twilight years with dignity and comfort is so important and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking for somewhere for an elderly relative for a short break or for a long term living. I'm even thinking of putting my name down for the future.
Reply from Roz Elliott, Owner at The HamptonsThank you for your positive and generous comments on your review. We are delighted that "the care and attention she has received has been second to none". I moved into the care home at short notice, but the assessment was done professionally and quickly. I experienced a high standard of care and attention throughout my stay. The room met all of my needs as well as those of my visitors. As a former chef, I found the meals to be well cooked and they provided
a balanced diet for me. The service at meal times was excellent and the extra tough of serving drinks on my birthday was much appreciated. I was treated with dignity and respect throughout my stay, and I would be very happy to use the care home again or recommend it to others.
Reply from Roz Elliott, Owner at The HamptonsThank you for your "Excellent" review. We are delighted to receive your positive comments about the high quality and standards of our meals, especially since you were a former chef. It was our pleasure to celebrate your birthday while you were staying with us. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Tranquil setting, pleasant garden, good position in town, large car park (very important these days). Being elderly and living alone, just what I needed when getting over a hip operation. Facilities good, surroundings clean, bright and cheerful, rooms comfortable, food excellent, but above all, lovely
staff from management down to the latest and youngest carers - friendly and really caring, always caring and understanding. If on returning home, I find I cannot manage on my own, I will happily return on a permanent basis. Excellent value in every way.

I recommend Hampton House unreservedly because my mother has been a resident there for just over four years and has been beautifully looked after. Many of the current caring staff have been there as long as my mother, which makes a lot of difference in relating to each other and having on-going conversations.
My mother's room is delightful. She loves it, and the whole of Hampton House is decorated in a bright, modern and cheerful fashion. As relatives and friends, we are made very welcome when visiting and nothing is too much trouble. The owners are very diligent and usually present and available to help with anything at all. There are many activities available if residents want to partake but everyone has a choice of what they want to do. Hairdressing on-site and a visiting chiropodist are a great benefit too.
Reply from Roz Elliott, Owner at The HamptonsThank you for your positive and glowing review. We are delighted to know your mother "loves" her room and you feel she has been "beautifully looked after" for "just over four years". This care home is excellent. The place itself is very attractive, the bedrooms are excellent, the food is very good (home cooked). All facilities could not be improved. It is early to know many of the other residents and all are friendly.

Due to the marvellous care provided by caring professionals, Mum enjoyed a wonderful day. She was taken by one of the carers in a wheelchair to the hairdresser and had her hair done. She was then taken down to the lounge where she enjoyed a charming Vintage Tea Party. She got to know several of the
other lovely residents and had a good chat. This is remarkable as Mum finds it quite difficult to mix due to a variety of long-term ailments. However, due to the friendly persistence and encouragement of the staff, she was finally able to socially interact. It speaks volumes for the excellent staff and management.

Hampton House is a lovely home with a very nice environment. It is very clean and beautifully kept. More importantly, the owners are always on hand and are very approachable. All the staff are very caring and kind. During the 2 1/2 years my father was there, there was very little turnover of staff and
no agency staff. Visiting relatives are always made very welcome at any time of day. There is entertainment daily for those that want to join in but although participation is encouraged it is never forced. Dad's end of life care was exceptional as was the treatment of his relatives. I would highly recommend this lovely home.

I was nervous about coming into a care home but had no choice following a small stroke and living alone.
But on entering Hampton House my worries disappeared. A very smart welcoming entrance extremely comfortable en-suite room with tv, immediately I felt in a safe place with so many delightful carers
around all asking if I wanted anything or help to do something.
They cannot do enough for you and the whole atmosphere is calm and reassuring. I have felt very safe and secure here. A lovely place! Excellent food too!

I have been satisfied with the treatment of the staff who sometimes are a little forgetful. They are very kind and caring. The food is excellent and in my four weeks here have not had a meal duplicated. I was here two years ago and had no hesitation in coming back fo respite after five weeks in a hospital.
The staff are always cheerful in spite of working very hard I have noticed they pay particular attention to people unable to attend to themselves.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.088)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.088) out of 10 for The Hamptons is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.542 for The Hamptons is calculated as follows: ( (51 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.542
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.546 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Hamptons is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 37 registered maximum number of service users is 7.4. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.4 = 0.946
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
