Woodford house saved my family my dad has late stages of dementia and we didn't know what to do but the staff worked quickly and got our dad a place when no other home would take him I can't thank the staff and nurses enough your care towards my dad is outstanding and not only to our dad to me and my
siblings. When me and I my sister viewed the home we knew that's where we wanted our dad to be. They have a lovely garden to walk round big dining area and lots of rest rooms and you can go and eat with your loved one's if you wish. Thank you so much Woodford House thank you Karen for picking up the phone and saying "I know what your going through " that was such a relief so thank you and carry on doing what your doing
Reply from Richard Hodgkisson, Business Director at Woodford House Nursing HomeThank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind and touching words. As the home manager, I know how emotional and difficult the transition into care can be, not just for residents but for families too . It truly means so much to hear that you felt supported and welcomed during your dad's journey with us. Creating a home where families feel comfortable, included, and able to spend meaningful time together is something we care deeply about. I will be sharing your message with the team, who will be very moved by your appreciation.

Best wishes, Tina, and the team

My father has been a resident for several months and I find Woodford House a loving and caring place for my father who has been known to be very unpredictable but has now settled down very well due to the whole staff who treat him as one of their own and as a result you cannot find any fault of any
significance and me and my family can only praise and them all for their help and consideration to my father and to us as a family. The only inconvenience is that there is no public transport. Apart from that its well done Woodford House.
Reply from Richard Hodgkisson, Business Director at Woodford House Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to share your kind feedback. We are truly grateful for your lovely comments about the care provided to your dad. Your kind words will be shared with our staff, who work incredibly hard to support residents and their Families. We do understand and acknowledge your concerns about the public transport and recognise this can be challenging for families. Whilst transport links outside are directly out of our control. We appreciate you raising this and will continue to share such feedback with the relevant local services. Best wishes. Tina and the team

The Hamptons is an excellent care home with very good rooms and facilities. The staff are caring and have the best interests of all clients in their care. They have a number of experienced staff and some younger staff who do not have the life experience to fully understand the emotional needs needs
of residents but that is inevitable whilst they learn. The food is outstanding and the management first class, especially in working with the relatives of residents. The range of activities is good without being outstanding.
Reply from Kim Roch, Home Manager at The HamptonsThank you for your kind words and recognising we have the best interest of all the clients. We work hard alongside our apprentices and to train those new to care, to ensure a quality throughout.

I appreciated all the effort and generosity offered during December to celebrate Christmas. The home was beautifully decorated and Mum was thrilled to be able to share her crib scene ; this helped her to feel involved.
It was lovely to participate in the Christmas party and the communion service which
was open to family members. Mum enjoyed all the carol singing with the children from the local primary school and the concert by "The Tuesdays" . Thank you for arranging these special activities. As usual the food and drink over the festive season was excellent. Seeing Mum engage in the drinks parties was heartening.
The family also appreciated the welcome, provision of plenty of tea and cake and a lovely space in which to celebrate Mum's birthday. Thank you.

My mother spent 5 weeks in The Hamptons, after a fall at home, until her peaceful end. She was treated with the utmost compassion and dignity throughout her stay and watching the staff interact with her was joyful. Witnessing the staff come into bid her goodbye at the end of her life, brought tears
to my eyes and made me realise how much they all care about their residents. The night staff were equally caring as they spend many nocturnal hours with them.
My father who has dementia, is also a resident and the staff ensured that my mother's confidentiality was upheld whilst Dad could visit regularly. The staff sent me pictures of them together on Christmas Day!
The home is bright, airy and it never smells. The garden is fabulous for residents to walk around and to sit out in the sunshine. Food is good and plentiful.
Moving both my parents to The Hamptons, where they are cared for so much better then I could do, is the best decision our family made. The staff are fantastic!
Reply from Kim Roch, Home Manager at The HamptonsThank you for your kind words. Being able to support dad and your family through mum's palliative journey was an experience we will all remember as dignified and a privilege. It was an absolute pleasure to be part of your mother's end-of-life care. All the staff feel a genuine commitment to providing the best care to our residents, right up until their last day.
It's good to see your positive comments are not just about the care, but the environment and food too.
I will ensure all the staff are aware of your lovely feedback.

My mother has lived at this excellent home for two years. She really enjoys the attention, the company and the really delicious food. Everyone who visits comments on how contented she is, and how the home feels like a hotel rather than a care home. The public areas leading onto the garden are spacious
and light. There is a wonderfully calm atmosphere, the staff are experienced and kind. The home is very welcoming to visitors, I really enjoy going there. Every area in the home is spotlessly clean. I feel completely confident that all the carers have my mum's best interests at heart and are skilled at knowing exactly what she needs when, in terms of medical attention, nutrition, a lovely bath or just a chat. I feel very lucky my mother is here, she often says 'I am in the right place'.

The Christmas party at the care home was truly heart-warming and thoughtfully arranged. It was clear how much care and effort the staff put into making the day special for the residents, particularly those living with dementia. The decorations created a festive yet calm atmosphere, and the music was
familiar and comforting, which really helped engage the residents. Our mom seemed relaxed and happy, and it was lovely to see her smiling and responding to the songs and activities. The staff were attentive, patient, and genuinely kind, taking time to include everyone at their own pace and ensuring no one felt overwhelmed. As a family, it meant a great deal to see our mom enjoying the occasion and to feel confident she is in such caring hands. We are very grateful to the whole team for creating such a meaningful Christmas celebration and for the ongoing dedication they show every day.

This was adequate for a short stay. The lack of stimulation or organised activities was a disappointment.
Housekeeping was irregular, sometimes came to make my bed before I was out of it, and breakfast was served in my room between 7:50 and 8:30 (mostly about 8:15), which was much earlier than my
normal time. The food quality was satisfactory, but the portions were smaller than I am used to.

Dad has been in Perton Manor for just over four years now. He has Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia, and exhibits challenging behaviours. Over the years his eyesight has deteriorated so he has limited vision.

The quality of care Dad receives is excellent. Dad's behaviours are managed well so that

he is not a danger to himself or other residents or staff. He is on a 1-1 so we get to chat with many carers, which gives a good insight in to them as people. This is important for us, as they are a part of our Dad's and our lives and it helps to form connections and bonds with them.

Relevant staff do a fantastic job in gathering evidence and preparing for reviews, and in presenting what Dad's needs are and how they need to be met.

Dad could not be in a better place to be cared for.

Since moving to Perton Manor, Mum is a lot more settled than she was in the psychiatric unit as there are plenty of Demetria trained specific staff who take great care of both her personal care and mental wellbeing. She has staff members who sit and chat to her all the time which helps with speech

Mum has challenging behavioural problems especially with audio sensory overloads and staff ensure that she is able to step away and usually goes for long walks around the grounds. Both my sister and myself feel 100% is now in a safe and comfortable environment and know the whole of the Staff, Lovely Linda, Natalie, Natasha, Amy, Julie, Emily and Caron to name just a few really really do care about Mum and all staff appreciate any comments or advice from family members and take them onboard to help Mums stay an even better experience. Woodford house has been home for my dad for three years and words cannot describe what a wonderful place it is, to show how happy we are with the care it became my uncle's home eighteen months later and he remained there until his death. The care they show not only to the residents but to us as family
is amazing. They threw a little party for my mums birthday earlier in the year and for my recent birthday they sent me a card from my dad complete with his fingerprints. Putting a loved one in a care home is one of the most difficult decisions to make but the peace of mind that comes when you know they are so well cared for is unparalleled. My husband moved to Perton Manor from a psychiatric unit in 2023. He has Alzheimer's disease with challenging behaviour.
Since he has been at Perton Manor, the staff have always been very caring and his behaviour has been managed by alternative approaches such as walks outside. It has now been possible
to withdraw his previous medications.
The home is always kept clean. There are regular opportunities provided to give feedback on care within the home. It is of benefit, particularly with challenging behaviour, that the home is modern, purpose-built and on one level.
The training of staff in dementia care is very thorough and a large number of staff are always on duty. On visits to hospital for appointments or for admission, he has always been accompanied by a staff member.
The staff are always very approachable and welcoming; I have always felt at ease whilst my husband is at Perton Manor, knowing he will be well-looked after and I will be kept informed about his condition.

My aunt has besn a resident of Perton Manor for just over 2 years. Her condition was becoming challenging and the home she was a resident at were unable to cope with her needs. At her previous placement an external psychiatric nurse had prescribed medication which wiped her out. We found it difficult
to find a home that would take her due to her complex condition, but we found Perton Manor. Here she has been treated with respect, care and love. It's lovely to see glimpses of her personality, be it singing with her, laughing with her or simply holding her hand. Everyone is kind and considerate to both the resident and the family members. Also, staff are highly trained to deal with complex and challenging behaviours. Here at Perton Manor they've enabled her personality to continue.

Mom moved to Perton Manor in 2023 in an extremely poor psychological state and also being suicidal.
Our family cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional care mom has received at this home since moving there 2 years ago. Her journey has been incredibly challenging but the transformation we've witnessed
since she joined this community is nothing short of remarkable.
The staff are truly incredible. Their knowledge of mom's complex needs, together with their genuine compassion and positive pathways has created an environment where she now feels safe, understood, and loved. What was once a state of deep despair has grown into so much more calm and happiness. They have not only met her medical and personal care requirements but are totally dedicated to her emotional well-being. The specialist support she receives for her complex needs is above and beyond, and for us as a family we know she is so loved and cared for, and we couldn't ask for anything more.
