Royal Court is a unique home as it offers spacious self-contained apartments for residents with round the clock residential care. The 44 light and spacious apartments are grouped into small communities to give a calmer and more personal environment. The newly reburbished Lavender floor offers community living with holistic care and support provide by the Cura care team. The community areas include a shared kitchen dining room and a sensory room. The Butterfly Wing offers specialist dementia care and it has its own staff team, kitchen, dining room, lounge and safe access to the garden. In addition there are double apartments to accommodate couples, a respite care suite and an apartment for Bariatric Care.

Royal Court is in a quiet residential area of Cheltenham with good bus links to the centre. The purpose built home has spacious lounges, dining rooms and the modern conservatory floods the communal spaces with light. Each apartment has its own front door, lounge (with kitchen area), shower room and bedroom. Residents and families often find that having their own apartment makes the decision to move into care that much easier.

The accessible gardens include raised beds, an allotment, greenhouse as well as large lawns and courtyard area.

The care team includes dementia specialists and a qualified nurse (who works closely with the GP surgery and district nurses).

The catering team provide fresh, nutritious home cooked food and are skilled at adapting the menu for different dietary requirements and those with swallowing difficulties.

The activities team work both individually and in groups to offer varied, stimulating and enriching activities including visiting musicians and entertainers, themed days and parties, arts & crafts, gardening, games, gentle exercise and trips out.

My sister-in-law received every assistance when she needed by very attentive staff. She has a hearing problem and had difficulty with her hearing aid, which you have sent for repair and provided aa board for hr to communicate with. Staff have helped her with her knitting wool and even a favourite meal
in; curry for her. She feels very special, and the family feel happy that she has your care.

Staff are friendly and helpful and try to encourage my mother to join in. She often comments that she likes food, especially afternoon cakes. Even during the lockdown, they are doing their best to care for their residents.

I have found the staff wonderful, and I heard nothing unpleasant said to anyone. When I required help, response to the bell was good. We were always warm, comfortable and fed very well. Entertainment was fairly good - difficult because of covid19. We are well locked down, and so far, have has no up
of any infection in here, we are tested every four weeks.

When I first came here, the menu was done by the catering manager, since then, the menu is done by office staff at HQ every week. I have to have an alternative meal sometimes as many as four. Although clearly marked, laundry goes missing. I have had trouser missing for three months before re-appearing.
I am missing one pair and a vest at this time, perhaps more supervision would solve this problem. Apart from this, the management and staff are considerate, kind and caring and could not be better.

My husband just stayed for five nights respite. Due to Covid restrictions I did not get the chance to enter the home and my husband was kept mainly in his room. He has Parkinson's plus other health issues and feels he was well looked after and said his room was better than some hotels we've stayed in.
I
wouldn't hesitate to use Royal Court again. I felt I was leaving him in safe hands. All notes taken at our home for assessment were actioned.

Throughout this year with a major pandemic to deal with, I feel that the Lilian Faithfull group (particularly Royal Court where my mother has lived for 18 months) has acted with professionalism where the safety of its residents has been paramount. The care home was locked down well before the government
issued all residential care homes to do so. Communication to residents' relatives was consistent, this is in the form of newsletters from the chief executive and director of care updating us monthly on their Co-vid 19 policies, window visits etc. Communication via Royal Court itself from relatives to residents can be through a phone call, Zoom or Skype, email or I write cards or letters to my mum in large print so that she has had something to re-read during the times when myself and my siblings couldn't see her. Last week on the 12th of October, the home went into lockdown as cases rise again in Cheltenham and I am thankful that I know my mum is well supported by all the staff at Royal Court.

I would like to congratulate the staff and residents of Royal Court through the last six months. The care of the residents was utmost with all the staff. So much effort was given to entertainment and making sure the residents were 'happy'. I cannot praise them all enough.

Wow. The staff at this home go above and beyond what is expected of them, always having a smile and chat and the best bit, they do not rush the time they have with residents giving high-class care to all. Care is always at the forefront of what they do, from day trips to holidays and daily activities
it’s a home from home. I would thoroughly recommend them.

My father had dementia and used to go to Royal Court for respite before he sadly passed away. He was always happy here and had a great relationship with the staff. Considering he was quite shy and never one for making conversation, I could guarantee they would always have him laughing, which was lovely
to see. He had some happy times here.

Royal Court is a fabulous home. The staff and management are very caring and listen to any concerns that the family may of had. The flats are lovely and fresh looking, we loved that Gran had a flat and not just a room, much more homely and we could make it how Gran wanted it.
The home is overall clean
and welcoming. There is plenty going on with activities and day trips. All the staff get involved with special dressing up/celebration days.
Gran only had a short time lived at Royal Court but was memorable.

One word describes Royal Court - fabulous. Staff are fabulous, accommodation is fabulous and the food is fabulous. My mother has improved significantly in their care and is a completely different woman to when she first came to live at Royal Court. She is well looked after and fussed over by the staff
and she thinks they are amazing. Safe and happy - what more can you ask for your nearest and dearest.

Royal Court provides excellent care and support. Staff are very patient and you always feel that they are providing care focused on the individual though this must be difficult at times.
All staff will always find time to sit and discuss any issues which is a great comfort.

The management staff are available, approachable and consider thoroughly any points raised by me.
The care staff are professional, attentive, patient with my husband and all residents, friendly and helpful to me.

My husband has been a patient at Royal Court on two occasions. My husband has always been very happy. The staff have been very kind and friendly. His room was a first class flat. The food was great, plenty of it and cooked at the home. This is a 1st class nursing home and should have five stars.

My mum receives great care from the dedicated staff. We are really happy that she is well cared for and she has her dignity once more.
She is much healthier in the six weeks that she has been there and this is due to the great food and great care.

I have been very well looked after and I am grateful to everyone for their kindness throughout. A personal thanks to one member of staff who has been so helpful especially with the mobile phone. Also, the cleaner has kept my room spotless.

Although my mother has dementia and doesn't understand where she is, I know she is sometimes happy and that she likes the staff. As a visitor, I am always made to feel welcome by all categories of staff, and over the past 3 years, I have consistently seen them demonstrate a caring attitude in sometimes
challenging situations. Residents are clearly treated and respected as individuals.

Ewa has been a SEN Teacher in Poland, but she decided to start her career path in the Care Sector when she moved to the UK. Ewa always worked with people who inspired her; she is full of optimism, passion, empathy, and always wants to progress and increase her knowledge and skills.


Ewa joined Lilian Faithfull Care in 2013 as a night Care Assistant in Lilian Faithfull House. After a while, she became a day Senior Carer and Team Leader and moved to Royal Court. Ewa left LFC in 2019 and worked for different Care Homes in Cheltenham, where she gathered more experience, knowledge and skills and met and knew new people. Ewa joined LFC again in 2023 as a Team Leader in Bay Tree Court and soon became a Deputy Manager to support the Manager in daily tasks. In September 2024, Ewa became a Home Manager in Royal Court, where she had worked before and happily supported the home, residents, relatives and staff.


In her free time, Ewa loves to spend time with family, walk with her 2 dogs and watch Scandinavian crime movies
