We were very lucky indeed that just as my dad was being discharged from hospital care, Fletcher House were able to arrange an assessment and welcome him as a resident at very short notice. Although dad was only there less than a month (before he, unfortunately, passed away), he had been made to feel
very much at home in this short time, with staff who were genuinely caring and who made great efforts to get to know him on a personal level. Sharing his musical interests with one particular staff member made all the difference to his settling in well during his first few days there.
He was very happy to be back in his home town and we were made welcome in visiting him at any time by the lovely staff at Fletcher. Dad had a lovely garden room and I know he would have been very happy to stay on at Fletcher if he had not been able to return home. Thanks to all at Fletcher House!

Our father needed emergency respite, all taken care of very easily and professionally by the home manager, who came to our home to assess dad. We were able to take him in straight away, and the home and staff have been great in settling Dad in. It is a big change for all of us, Fletcher House has made
it easier for us all.

I have found Fletcher House to be most welcoming and friendly. I was amazed when after a fortnight's trial with Fletcher House, Mum was so happy and had made many new friends. She was happy to return on a permanent basis. The staff are wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble.

Mum had a fall, couldn't weight bear and needed some immediate care. I contacted Fletcher House and they came out to see me the next day (as I'd called on a Sunday). A very professional, warm and inclusive assessment was carried out by the manager with both me and my mother, and she was admitted the
same afternoon. Fletcher House was friendly, caring and accommodating. My mother only needed a brief stay, found the call bells distracting upstairs, but said that the room was spotlessly clean, the staff were excellent and the food was amazing! We've both agreed that we'll be using Fletcher House again for respite care as needed. Many thanks!

I have visited Fletcher House now on several occasions and I am always greeted by welcoming staff. The home is very clean and feels very homely, and comfortable. I can not speak highly enough about this care home. It truly is a fabulous place.

My father transferred from a London care home and was unsettled and anxious when he arrived but has relaxed and found a home and friendly people. I can't thank everyone enough - there is a real kindness here and plenty of laughs. Well done Fletcher House: keep it up, it's great.

On visiting my dad on Saturday, I received such a warm welcome and was greeted by all the staff that I walked past. My dad is quite new to the home and it was so wonderful to spend some real quality time together. He told me he felt 'comfortable' which was so lovely to hear. He was proud of the home
and wanted to show it off. When I asked about the food, he said 'it was rather good actually'. So lovely - thank you Fletcher House.

Dad was a resident until Feb 2020 when he passed away. I found the staff extremely helpful, kind, and considerate to dad and to myself. They encouraged him to join in with the activities and always had time to make a conversation with him. His room was very nice overlooking the fields to the school,
he was encouraged to bring his own possessions where possible.

My father has recently moved into Fletcher House. The staff have been absolutely wonderful for helping dad to settle. Management and care assistants have been very welcoming when family visit and all call me by my first bane. The staff have been extremely kind to dad.

I am very happy with the standard of care my mother is receiving at Fletcher House. In the last few weeks, my mother's needs have become much higher as she is no longer to weight bare and requires hoisting to transfer.

I came today to move my father-in-law to a new home with my wife. I was very disappointed with the support of the staff on duty except for one young carer who helped us to get my father-in-law to my car and helped to get him in the car. His meds were not ready and no one from the management team came
to see if we or the staff needed any support. It was very stressful for my wife, myself, my father-in-law and the carer, who I must say was very helpful and supportive. As someone who works in care I was very disappointed.

Dad is always treated with respect in the dementia friendly unit even though he can be verbally aggressive and noisy.
I have had concerns for staff wellbeing during the winter. There seem to be many changes and the regular need to use of agency staff.
I am pleased to see a slightly different approach
to activities.
Yesterday staff had anticipated in advance dad’s dissatisfaction with the parachute activity and had selected classical music on the TV and attractive slideshow of spring flowers in bloom.
Unfortunately, this didn’t stop dad from shouting and proclaiming the activity “childish” but they had tried!
It was great to see the beaming smile on the face of one of the ladies and good to recognise that the residents were exercising their arm muscles.
I was also impressed that one of the activity staff had located a vintage song (Mr Sandman) which an old lady had been singing a few days before.
A video had been downloaded with printed lyrics so residents could join in if they wished.

I have just returned from an excellent "Mad Hatters Tea party" at Fletcher House in which all the staff and residents have joined in a great celebration. Not only tea, cakes etc under the gazebo but music and signing. All the staff took part, which was a great effort from the entertainment team as always.

I have had connections with Fletcher House Wells, Somerset, for a long time and always been pleased with it. My father in law was very happy here during 2007-2011.
My brother is now currently a resident 2012-present. He does not take advantage of the activities and would probably be more content if
activities were not so voluntary, he would then be obliged to do them and mix better and time would not hang so heavily.
