The home has a loving, calm and caring feeling. Looks clean and tidy. Made to feel welcome and at ease in the care my sister is having. Thank you for all your kindness towards my sister and her family, it means a lot to all of us, knowing she is being cared for so well gives us peace of mind!!!
Thank you for taking the time to write this lovely review, I will pass this on to my staff
Very pleased with everything. The staff are fantastic. Nothing too much trouble for them. Management very good. Good safety. Nothing to complain about. Food good, plenty of it. Plenty of drinks all day.
Thank you Debra for your lovely review, I will pass on your lovely feedback to all the staff.
We are very happy with Dad's care. He is well looked after. We are encouraging him to get out of bed and he says he wants to more.
Thank you Simone for your kind words and we are so pleased that you chose Northway House to care for your dad
Nan is always happy with the care staff and has a good relationship with them, they understand nan and what she wants or needs.
Thank you
Emma
I am happy with the care and support. It is a lovely home, we always feel welcome, and the staff are lovely. We would recommend this home to anyone looking for a home.
Thank you for your lovely review. I will pass this on to my team. Thank you once again. Emma
The previous management that was in charge of the home when my dad first arrived was new and seemed extremely overwhelmed with the running of the home, which made the transition of Dad going from his home to being cared for by strangers very unsettling. But then the new manager who is currently here took over and everything changed, Dad settled in, communication between staff became so much better, their approach to Dad after training put in place by the new manager and with her superb knowledge and guidance, the whole atmosphere of the home changed. I am happy my dad is safe and cared for here, the staff are amazing, the manager even more so.
Thank you once again
Emma (Manager)
My dad is looked after really well. The home staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The home has improved so much since Dad moved in. The rooms are kept really clean the food is very appetising, freshly cooked. The cook is very helpful to please everyone. All the staff and management have been amazing and you can see all the amazing changes.
Thank you
Emma
Thank you so much for taking great care of my mum.
Thank you once again from all the team.
Emma
The care he has received since moving into the home has got better and better. They care for his wellbeing as well as all of his daily care. It has helped me see him settled now and as happy as he can be with dementia, which is down to the management and staff in the home.
Thank you
Emma
This care home is excellent. The carers are very good with my husband. The selection of food and drink is very good, room is always clean and tidy. Laundry is done and always returned to the correct room. The manager is very approachable and nothing is too much trouble if you need anything, she will always be able to help.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review, I will pass this on to all the staff.
Thank youEmma
I am very happy with the care my mum receives and everyone is so lovely and kind. We have a new manager, Emma, and she is fantastic and supportive.
Kind regards
Emma
Unfortunately our experience has not been good since had came i December left too long on his own in room. Where he will try and wash up his food dishes. Becuase he is not supervised also the food is very poor. Since we've been here we have been told the chief is going. She is still here. There is a new manager now this is the 3rd since Decemeber. I hope things improve now.
Thank you for your review. We always strive to ensure our delivery of care is not compromised hence the appointment of a new manager. We will ensure things will improve.
Very pleased with the care my mum has had, very caring staff, they seem to spend time with the residents and sit and talk to them, not just to see how they are and walk away. The care home is very clean, no carpets (great news) Residents have lovely meals and snacks, not short on food. Mum is clean, well-fed and seems as happy as she can be with dementia.
Thank you very much for your feedback. We strive to ensure we don't compromise on the delivery of care for anyone's loved ones.
Excellent residential home for my mum and stepdad, both lived here for numerous years. Since the new manageress took over the home has become excellent. The staff are a credit to the home. Nothing is too much trouble.
Thank you for your review. It's a credit to the team at Northway House.
I think it is only fair to say that carers are grossly underrated by those in managerial positions (few if any of whom would be capable of doing the job) and their value to society needs to be drastically updated.
Thank you ever so much for this fantastic review, it has been passed on to all staff who appreciate your kind words. You are welcome back anytime!
My father recently spent two months in Northway House having respite care. I am writing to say how very much I appreciated the wonderful care which you provided for my father, throughout the time he spent with you. He always looked clean and well-cared for. He felt he had friends amongst the staff and had nothing but the highest praise for their professional efficiency. He also enjoyed his interaction with other residents. He thought that the meals provided were excellent. During my frequent visits, I noticed a really good atmosphere in Northway House, where nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Help was always provided in a cheerful and chatty manner. This excellent attitude was apparent in every member of staff from the top all the way through. The house is well-appointed with a lovely and accessible garden. I noticed a high level of regard for safety. In my opinion, Northway House is a truly wonderful retirement home.
Thank you for this wonderful review, Fiona, your father was a pleasure to care for and with every interaction we had with you we have been met with kindness and respect.
Northway House was my fathers home and family for the past nearly 4 years. Northway has a great team of carers who looked after dad and cared for him giving dad the opportunity to remain as independent as he could be, but also making sure he had the right support and care when required. They all showed great kindness.
Northway House gave my friend the care and devoted attention she needed. My friend was in hospital on numerous occasions. She needed nursing care and Northway House welcomed her back from hospital so they could provide that care, of which they did until she passed away. They said it was her home and the care she received was the utmost.
My aunt died here in November, after the happiest years of her retirement. The care she received was second to none; I could not have asked for better. But this was not special treatment for her closing weeks, albeit she did require more one-to-one care. All the Northway House residents get it as a matter of course, as and when it is needed. It has been so for the five years I've been associated with it. These are residents, not patients; but care, consideration and respect are paramount. My 3 "good" ratings do not imply any shortfall! But the building is what it is; for all that matters, the scores are excellent.
My elderly Aunt moved into Northway House Residential Home at very short notice having become malnourished and no longer capable of looking after herself in her own home even with the support of carers. That was some 18months ago and thanks to the strong but discreet care and support provided she has put on weight and is once again a happy and healthy 95 year old. I recognise as an old building Northway House may not suit everyone but it's ideal for my Aunt. She feels comfortable because the staff whilst supportive when necessary, allow her the independence she wants.
