Both my parents have been residents in Rowden House since June 2022. They are both very settled and very happy. Dad will be 102 in April and Mum 100 in November. They celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on Saturday 20th January 2024 with an afternoon tea for family and friends in one of the lovely lounges in Rowden House. Everyone was made to feel very welcome and at home by all the staff. Thank you Rowden House for all your caring ways!
My aunt continues to be extremely well looked after at Rowden House. Whenever I visit she says how kind and caring the staff are, how much she likes her room, and how good the food is. The staff are always friendly and helpful whenever I visit or ring with any queries. They can always be depended upon to contact me promptly to seek consent for vaccinations and the like, and to report any issues of concern. This is particularly significant to me as I live at some distance from the area, and contributes greatly to my peace of mind. The home runs a comprehensive activity programme and they are especially good at marking significant birthdays.
Mum moved in the middle of December. She has dementia and has not been very vocal. From the first day, the difference in her has been amazing. She actively tries to answer. She always looks so happy and so well-dressed. This is all down to the staff who take time with every resident to make them feel included. The staff and management definitely go the extra mile with both residents and families. Would 100% recommend this care home.
Rowden House is a really kind home. My mum is looked after well and is happy there. There are activities every day and the staff are very friendly and encourage the residents to take part in these.
What a great choice we made. Thie year it's got even better with more activities and trips out. I relax and do not feel under pressure to visit knowing Mum is safe, well cared for and engaging in activities. Thanks again team Rowden.
Mum has been at Rowden House for nearly twenty months now and feels settled. The staff are always welcoming when we go to visit and update us on her health and well-being. Mum has been challenging at times and required a great deal of support. The staff at Rowden House have been fantastic and have used their experience and knowledge to maintain a calm and friendly environment in their home. They are always trying to raise money to enrich the lives of the residents. The home has looked great in preparation for Halloween, and we remain very pleased with the excellent care and support given to Mum.
My dad has recently completed a trial period at Rowdenb House and is now a permanent resident. He has Alzheimer's and was finding life at home with a live-in carer very difficult. Since he moved to Rowden I have seen a real improvement in his general mood. Although he still finds many things confusing, he is so much calmer and is obviously much less stressed. It's hard for him to keep track of what's happening at times due to his condition, but a constant comment has been how friendly he finds everyone at Rowden, and that the food is very good! I'm hoping he'll engage more with people around him - it's early days, but I know the staff are doing all they can to encourage him, while respecting his wishes. It's such a relief to know that he's being looked after by people who so obviously care about him - many thanks to all the Rowden staff.
Very good.
The love and affection she received was amazing. On several occasions staff carried out extra duties to ensure mum was comfortable and in no way distressed.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Rowden House and staff.
Heartfelt thanks to all staff and Management.
I am here on a week's respite while my family are on holiday. All the rooms are in good order. I found the staff who have been looking after me very good. For me, the activities could be better as I am a keen gardener so outdoor facilities are important.
The transition from home to Rowden House was a smooth process; the staff listened to our wishes as a family and took time to ask about Mum's needs, her likes and dislikes, and really grasped an understanding of who Mum is as an individual person.
The staff are professional, caring, patient and supportive. We are always greeted with a smile and an update on visiting, and my video calls are welcomed whatever time of the day. The staff have good links with the GP's and medical services and quickly act if there is a problem.
Mum looks very well taken care of, the food is excellent, her laundry and her room is spotlessly clean. She feels settled, comfortable and safe. She enjoys having her nails painted, hair done and it's been a joy to witness Mum joining in the fun activities that Rowden provide.
Thank you for your care and for providing a happy safe environment.
The support for both my mum and the family has been exemplary.
Care is well led with strong links to the Community Nursing Team and GP services.
Care is tailored and individualised with great attention paid to specific needs.
Mum is happy and this is in no small part due to the efforts of the team to ensure she is settling in and feels at home.
The food is excellent, home-cooked and well made.
There are many organised activities too, with support and involvement from staff to ensure everyone has the opportunity to take part if they wish.
I would recommend Rowden for those looking for residential care for loved ones.
Considering my mum's initial reluctance to go into care I have to say that she was very happy at Rowden and kept saying it was better than a hotel, and that is a great consultation to the family. A truly amazing team!
The team at Rowden House are excellent. They were kind and caring towards my mum. Nothing was too much trouble to make it a home from home. The home kept the family informed of any caring issues as they arose, I knew mum was in a safe place.
At 92 years young and after a bad fall at home my Mother-in-law became a full time resident at Rowden House a year ago. I strongly recommend Rowden House as the staff is amazing. They are always extremely helpful, professional and happy as they care for Mum. They address any questions and concerns I have with understanding and respect at all hours of the day and night, I live in a different time zone. Their care and concern is second to none. They go above and beyond daily in their care and over the year Mum has been a resident they have helped her transition from living on her own to living in a residential home. I live in the States and have not been able to visit, due to Covid19, so to be able to video at any time and always see her well-groomed and happy gives me peace of mind knowing Mum is well cared for.
The last year has been so difficult for relatives who have been unable to be close to their loved ones but the staff have worked so hard to care for the residents. I cannot thank them enough for the care they gave my mum when she was ill and everything they do for her on a daily basis, it cannot be an easy job.
I feel that in spite of serious confusion and loss of mobility in my brother, the care the staff give is extremely good, for which I am extremely grateful.
The team at Rowden House are very caring and empathetic to the needs of my father and us as a family. My father seems happy and content at the home and comfortable with the whole team. He is safe and secure and assured us the team look after him and his needs well. Thank you to all of the team.
I can only repeat mum's assertion that she loves it here and calls it home from home. Very friendly, hard working management and staff who can't do enough for service users and relatives.
