My mother goes to daycare at Sunnmeade three days, sooner to be four days per well. It is so good for her mental welfare. Mum has settled in well and really enjoys all the activities. She has made friendly and loves meeting up for chats, coffee and biscuits. The staff are brilliant and bring out the best in Mum. I cannot praise the staff enough. She enjoys the lunches too, and they accommodate her small appetite. Everything is bright and welcoming.

My mum has been well looked after at Sunnmeade for ten years now. On Tuesday 27th December, she celebrated reaching 100 years of age, and the care home provided an outstanding birthday team for Mum and 16 guests. One particular care worker was brilliant in ensuring everyone, including Mum, was well catered for at the tea.

Welcoming and helpful. We were shown the room available. They listened and understood my husband's disability and the help he would need. He has received all the care he needs. He enjoys all his meals.

My sister has daycare four times per week. She has fitted in well and seems to enjoy the afternoon and activities, particularly being pampered with manicures and hairdressing. The staff are always pleasant and welcoming. I am confident she is well looked after whilst in Sunnymeade care. As she is not a resident, I can only review what is relevant to her.

Since the end of the strict Covid restrictions, the activities seem to have increased, allowing residents to spend more time in social groups rather than being in their individual rooms. This is far better for those who wish to join in.

The building and rooms themselves are very tired.

The staff that I come into contact with are always very friendly and caring and appear to have mum-in-law's best interests at heart.

What a great home and staff - they go above and beyond with my mum.
The manager has improved various things since she arrived.
The handyman has really been helpful in taking care of shelves and wheelchair repairs.

Keep up the great work, guys.

Very impressed with the atmosphere on entering Sunnymeade. Polite, cheerful carers taking care to explain over and over again to a new resident with dementia who kept asking the same questions about what their like would be like. The home is full of sunshine and plenty of activities that staff care organise.

Sunnymeade is a very friendly home. My mother is well cared for and she says everyone is so kind to her.

There are daily activities/entertainment if she wishes to join in. The food is excellent and the ambience is homely. The staff are friendly, caring and really attentive to the residents.

My dad has been a resident in Sunnymeade for over 2 years. The care he has received has been outstanding and the carers have gone beyond to make his stay happy and cared for his every need. I would like to thank his care assistant and shift leader as they were absolutely amazing. Thank you all for your care and support. I will miss visiting as you have made my husband and myself welcome.

Overall Experience

Our mother was living alone at home until 3 years ago when she was 95 years old. This became impossible due to lack of mobility. She has always been a very independent and private person, so the idea of moving into a home was viewed with considerable trepidation. She chose Sunnymead herself, seemingly knowing that this was the right place for her, and she settled in much quicker than had been expected. The management and staff generally have been welcoming and kind, always willing to help and they work tirelessly, although on occasions one feels that they might be a bit 'thin on the ground'. General requests and such minor issues that have arisen have been resolved positively. Sunnymeade is situated close to the town centre so it is easy for local family and friends to visit.

My father was a resident for almost 3 years during which time, his care needs changed. The management and care staff team responded appropriately to his needs and always saw him as an individual with dignity and respect.
He considered this to be his home which reflected the staff's approach eg taking breakfast at 10:30 some days, always making sure he was dressed in the style he preferred.

We felt part of the care package and were able to share our thoughts and opinions with ease.

My mother spent two weeks of respite in the Sunnymeade location after an illness. She is 96 years of age and was struggling to look after herself properly.
The two-week respite care enabled her to recover and return to her home.

She was well cared for and particularly was complimentary of the staff.
