Wonderful. Dad has settled into his new surroundings really well. He gets involved in the activities and generally looks contented(Age and illness do get in the way occasionally). He has a lovely relationship with the staff. As a family, we always feel listened to and we all work together as a team. Well done everyone.
The team provide an excellent service to my mother. Communication is excellent and we were kept informed throughout lockdowns. Hygiene and attention to detail are always at a high level. The staff are attentive and caring. The food and entertainment are very good.
My brother is not the easiest of people and the staff quickly found ways to support him following major changes in his life, after a serious illness. Under the management, Vaughan Lee House safely navigated a way through the covid problems, always keeping friends and family informed as changes were needed. It is such a comfort, knowing my brother is supported and cared for by staff who understand him.
My mother is always well cared for and seems to get on with all the carers. She is made to feel like one of the family.
Very good.
This is a very good care home. It is community owned so you will never see the owners Bentley in the carpark. No care home is cheap but at least the fees are going into the home. They are an extremely friendly and engaging team at Vaughan Lee House. They give you great confidence that your parent is well cared for.
My mother lived at Vaughan Lee House for a little under twelve months. She was not in the best of health and was quite confused at times, but at all times she was treated by all who work there with warmth, patience and understanding. The staff encouraged her to join in meals in the dining room and a variety of activities. We had great peace of mind knowing she was so well looked after. We had no worries about her care.
Vaughan Lee cared for my mother for the inside of one day a week. She had different company to normal, was entertained, exercised, fed well and cared for admirably. This happened for about two years - in this time there was one small, practical problem, and once noticed Vaughan Lee addressed the issue and it wasn't an issue again. Great care and a happy mother!
We are pleased to recommend Vaughan Lee after over a year of caring for our 93 year old mother in law. The management and staff are always efficient, friendly and caring, and the home is constantly being updated and modernised in structure and decor and furniture, and there is always a pleasant family atmosphere apparent, together with a sense of fun and humour. Thank you.
I believe that the Home cared for my uncle and looked after him well. They kept in touch with me (I live miles away), including telling me that he was fading fast; this enabled us to visit him before he died.
On his deathbed (3-4am) at least 2 staff were with him. It was a real comfort to know that he didn't die alone.
I would recommend Vaughan Lee House to anyone looking for an excellent care home.
All the staff are excellent and can't do enough for her. She treats Vaughan Lee now as her home - it's like one big family.
The food is excellent.
Mum is very happy at Vaughan Lee.
They treat all the residents with professional calm and respect. Whenever my mother-in-law is unwell she always receives all the attention that she needs even if a member of staff has to stay with her all night.
I am now responsible for my friend and I am so reassured that she is well looked after. The home is run very well. Happiness and contentment comes through when you enter you can feel everyone is at ease.
My mother has been in this care home since January 2018. During this time she has had episodes of being unwell and one short stay in the hospital. The staff have been very responsive at these times providing extra care and support when needed. All staff are caring and professional however the younger staff are particularly outstanding in their cheerfulness and positivity.
Vaughan Lee has exceeded all my expectations and I hope my father will choose to stay permanently, having initially gone in for respite only.
I am recovering from two partial hip replacements and cannot speak too highly of the excellent care and patience I get from all the staff here.
Very impressed with the quality of care and the caring attitude and the way staff approach each and every resident. By far and away the best home from home experience.
I find the facilities excellent - the staff are thoughtful, friendly and very helpful.
The lunchtime food is very tasty, hot and enjoyable. Tea and coffee are always available. I really enjoy coming here and have made several friends of the residents.
My mum was very reluctant to move to a care home, but after in and out of hospital for three months home care was not enough. She came to Vaughan Lee House for respite after a long stay in hospital she will now stay as she cannot praise the staff enough for the care she receives. I myself am very pleased with how friendly and caring the home is.
My father had lost interest in life, in general, had no interests or hobbies. Since being at Vaughan Lee House he is a different person- happy- enjoys taking part in activities and talking to the other residents and visitors. My son got married in July and as my father has difficulty walking didn't think it possible for him to attend. Kindly one of the care assistants organised to bring him to the church service, which was lovely for him and the family. I was extremely grateful as it enabled dad to be part of my son's special day.
