My wife entered this home on 22 December 2015, suffering from dementia. I am very happy/pleased with the care that is provided. After some falls she had been sent to hospital for full check up, or in minor case has been seen by GP and nurse. I have been kept informed. Social activities are in place
and effective, and enjoyable. Staff are always polite, helpful and caring. All rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable. Heating is adequate. Visitors are always welcome and not restricted to set visiting hours. Professional visitors are hairdresser, religious ministers, chiropodist and GP doctor appointments are made when necessary. Very good. 10/10.

I chose Longbridge Deverill House for my mum just over two years ago. The first time I walked in, I knew it was the right place. The atmosphere is warm and caring and my mum receives excellent care, individually planned to cater for her changing needs as her dementia progresses. She is treated with
warmth and her dignity is maintained at all times.

Friends and family are welcomed and encouraged to join in with events. We are kept informed of any problems or issues. There is great importance placed on the happiness and well-being of all the residents. I always feel that I can approach the staff with any concerns I may have, they make a sad situation easier to cope with and there are smiles and laughter to enjoy and remember.

My partner went into Equality Care in December 2015 from a mental health hospital whilst she had a three month stay. I feel the home is the best I could have wished for. Very clean with excellent facilities and a real sense of care from all the staff and management nothing is too much trouble with three
course lunch each day. In the dining room all meals are high quality, all rooms are cleaned daily, I visit every other day and have has no reason to complain about anything they are just very helpful people. A great care home with a high standard of care.

My father was a resident for 11 months. He suffered from Alzheimers and was treated with care, compassion and dignity at all times. The staff were outstanding in their treatment of him and all others. They took the time to get to know him and us, his family and I would not fault one thing. Dad sadly
passed away in Nov 15 and chose to remain at the home for his end of life care. I was welcomed warmly and supported throughout and being there at the end was precious.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.607) out of 10 for Longbridge Deverill House and Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.607 for Longbridge Deverill House and Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (173 Excellents x 5) + (75 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 262 Ratings = 4.607
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Longbridge Deverill House and Nursing Home is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
