Our mother had been at the care home for about three years. The staff seemed to quickly get to know her and she settled in quickly considering the change of situation from living on her own with visiting carers, to becoming a resident with various characters. The staff were consistent, friendly and
helpful. We visit 2-3 times a week and also take mum out at various times (usually visited mid morning and mid afternoon but sometimes later) Lovely to be able to visit at any time of the day or night. Staff seemed to know when there may be problems and guided the resident to a quieter area. Mum thoroughly enjoyed the activities (she wasn't very mobile) and one to ones with staff. She had a choice of when to get up and go to bed, where to be (own room, lounge, library) old building so sometimes problems, lovely grounds.
We were happy mums last years were made comfortable and carefree and she was able to be near us.

My father was admitted to Longbridge Deverill House and Nursing Home for respite and rehab after an acute hospital admission. He had debilitating Parkinson's and we had hoped to move him home with live-in care but it became obvious this would not be feasible. The care we experienced from all the staff
was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Visitors have all given us positive feedback including his hairdresser who was able to use the salon and his physio who worked closely with the team. Once he decided to stay, we were encouraged to bring in familiar items from home. At Christmas when we planned a big family gathering we were able to use one of the lounges and this is a very happy memory for us all. As a retired nurse myself, I was impressed with how proactive all the staff were- whenever I made a suggestion they were already ahead of me. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated but the care he and we received was compassionate at all times. Everyone at Longbridge Deverill House and Nursing Home made his "last lap" the very best it could have been.

I have very mixed feelings.
I was pleased how the manager came across and was impressed on our visit a week later with the cosy, homely feeling the home offered. My father who suffered from dementia was admitted a week later.
Dad always seemed happy, well fed and cared for on each visit and the staff
we met were very pleasant. However, one particular visit we were looking for a member of staff to let us out and found one asleep on a settee in the corridor, not very professional.
Unfortunately dad passed away in hospital and although we gave 2 days notice to collect his belongings (which were not packed) we discovered his bed unmade, a dirty cups, a plate and a pair of underpants in his room as well as personal belongings missing, for which I had to argue to have these posted on. Not once since has the home made any contact offering condolences or words of kindness which has upset my mum and made her think twice about dads care and is it foremost a businesses venture. A sad end.

Longbridge Deverill House and Nursing Home is a true jewel in the crown and more importantly a total savior. After three short stays in local homes, my mother experienced poor treatment you need to know this when you take a placement! We then found Longbridge Deverill House where we were able to place
mum, briefly a purpose-built clean beyond belief. Totally professional establishment with super, warm on suite rooms with super food. The staff were amazing, very well qualified and cared! The communication alone good and her general care was excellent. As a family, we would recommend without question of risk it's just the best you will find.

My mum who has dementia has stayed at Longbridge Deverill House for day care and respite care over the last 2 years .
The care at this home is by far the best we have come across. The staff greet mum with love and make her instantly feel at home.
The home is run by everyone, what I mean by that is
the staff and the residents feel able to talk to the management, in turn making sure everyone is happy at work and in their own home.
When I leave my mum to go and charge my batteries. I leave her with such a lovely bunch of careers who WILL look after her in every way and who ARE given the time to care for all the ladies and gentlemen at Longbridge.
It's a lovely place. It's not easy to have to decide someone's care for them, and you just want to do your best.
Longbridge is a good home, ok not a new building but a warm loving home and the people inside make it that.

From the first enquiry, I was impressed by the staff at Longbridge Deverill House whose kindness and empathy made a difficult decision much easier. The house itself feels more like a real home than a residential home. That my relative settling in so easily has been a great relief, as has her enjoyment
and approval of the food (she is very discerning!). Being able to visit at any time, and with our dog, is a blessing. We enjoy quality time together. My relative arrived with shaken confidence following a fall and a stay in the hospital, but the kind and enabling help from all the staff has restored that confidence resulting in much-improved mobility.
All the things that proved difficult at home, even with a live-in carer, are no longer worries. That I can discuss my relative's well-being and progress at any time with the Manager or members of staff is so reassuring. The staff are so friendly and treat the residents with such respect. I look forward to visiting!

My father was a resident here for about 16 months after a long and distressing stay in a hospital. His experience (and mine) at Longbridge Deverill House and Nursing Home couldn't have been more of a contrast. The home is a lovely environment; it's clean and well-run and the standard of nursing care
is excellent. The chef and staff went above and beyond to prepare menus that would appeal to dad. But the best quality of this home is what I can only call a 'culture of kindness'. All the staff are caring, patient and treat residents as adults entitled to dignity and compassion. They made my dad's last year not only comfortable and reassuring but also gave him a sense of having a home. I would recommend Longbridge Deverill House and Nursing Home without reservation.

My mother suffers from mixed dementia/Alzheimer's. She lived alone in a very unsuitable property and the care at home team could no longer keep up with her needs. She moved into the home, initially for respite care 6 months ago.
As one would expect her mental condition remains a problem, but one that
the staff and management take completely in their stride. Physically she looks better than she has for years!
She loves the food.
There is nothing to give a negative review about, but the biggest positive by a mile must be the staff and management.

My 92-year-old mother was at Longbridge Deverill House from October 2016 until her recent death. She was treated with great care and kindness throughout. The staff are friendly and treated her with dignity. The food was excellent and staff took care to make sure she ate enough. During her final illness,
they were kind and considerate and kept us well informed throughout.

I would like to thank the whole team at Longbridge Deverill House for the superb care they gave my mum. Sadly she passed away a week ago, having been a resident for just over three years. Particularly in recent months, everyone afforded mum such care keeping her with them until the end. They treated
her with love and kindness, retaining her dignity and allowing her to spend her last days surrounded by warmth and loving care.
They have also given me peace of mind at such a hard time. I could not have asked for more and I cannot thank them all enough.

My mother entered Longbridge Deverill House for respite care originally. Decided to stay. Unfortunately, she died after a few weeks but during those weeks the staff treated her and us with the utmost kindness. We only had to make a passing comment and it was acted upon. The food was excellent. Apart
from the shabby decor in the communal areas I could find no fault and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home.

For the brief period that my sister was in the nursing home she received every courtesy, care and consideration. I had brought her to UK by private ambulance from Belgium on 21st April. She died on 28th May. The staff took the trouble to find French speakers into which language my sister frequently
lapsed. My sister's condition was so frail on arrival that she was unable to make a recovery in spite of the best efforts of the nursing staff which I observed very frequently.

It is over a period now of some 2 years, first at Longbridge House and then onto Longbridge Nursing Home, my wife has always been cared for with loving care, the utmost dignity and attendance to her need by all the staff.
I have always been listened to being at any time concerned of her needs and
worries. I myself have always been welcomed by staff, I see her almost on a daily basis on my visits.
I can see that almost daily (except Sat/Sun) the staff have some form of entertainment for all the residents that with to park-take. Thank you all very much.

My impressions were very positive. The reception area was pleasant without being overly pretentious and the staff very helpful. The corridors were wide and the residents rooms, spacious, tastefully, furnished with floor to ceiling windows. There was no trace of the odours often associated with care
homes. The staff were at all times friendly and efficient and they displayed endless patience with even the most challenging residents. They managed my step-mothers complete immobility in a caring way always doing their best to make sure her dignity was not compromised, monitor in each room ensured any unusual incidents day or night would be investigated. Well-behaved pets were welcomed and my step-mothers much loved dog was a regular and popular visitor. When my step-mother was in her final hours a member of staff was with her at all times.

In the two years my friend has been in residential care I have witnessed nothing but kindness and professionalism from all staff, the unit manager and senior carer deserve a special mention for setting the high standards that all other staff follow. Visitors are made very welcome, the food is excellent,
activities and outings are suitable and enjoyable, all in all an excellent place to live. The house itself is not modern but it is extremely homely and doesn't smell; the garden is lovely and the residents are encouraged to sit outside in good weather (sun hats and lotion provided), there are chickens in the garden and cats wander about the house. When the end of her life came my friend could not have been in a better place, she didn't face death alone and died with dignity knowing she was loved and cared for.

My wife entered this home on 22 December 2015, suffering from dementia. I am very happy/pleased with the care that is provided. After some falls she had been sent to hospital for full check up, or in minor case has been seen by GP and nurse. I have been kept informed. Social activities are in place
and effective, and enjoyable. Staff are always polite, helpful and caring. All rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable. Heating is adequate. Visitors are always welcome and not restricted to set visiting hours. Professional visitors are hairdresser, religious ministers, chiropodist and GP doctor appointments are made when necessary. Very good. 10/10.

I chose Longbridge Deverill House for my mum just over two years ago. The first time I walked in, I knew it was the right place. The atmosphere is warm and caring and my mum receives excellent care, individually planned to cater for her changing needs as her dementia progresses. She is treated with
warmth and her dignity is maintained at all times.


Friends and family are welcomed and encouraged to join in with events. We are kept informed of any problems or issues. There is great importance placed on the happiness and well-being of all the residents. I always feel that I can approach the staff with any concerns I may have, they make a sad situation easier to cope with and there are smiles and laughter to enjoy and remember.

My partner went into Equality Care in December 2015 from a mental health hospital whilst she had a three month stay. I feel the home is the best I could have wished for. Very clean with excellent facilities and a real sense of care from all the staff and management nothing is too much trouble with three
course lunch each day. In the dining room all meals are high quality, all rooms are cleaned daily, I visit every other day and have has no reason to complain about anything they are just very helpful people. A great care home with a high standard of care.

My father was a resident for 11 months. He suffered from Alzheimers and was treated with care, compassion and dignity at all times. The staff were outstanding in their treatment of him and all others. They took the time to get to know him and us, his family and I would not fault one thing. Dad sadly
passed away in Nov 15 and chose to remain at the home for his end of life care. I was welcomed warmly and supported throughout and being there at the end was precious.

He has a passion for knowledge that he and his team are able to make a positive difference in all our residents' lives whilst providing the very best in person-centred care. Longbridge Deverill offers a homely and friendly atmosphere where residents and their friends and families are made to feel most welcome.

Klara is a Dementia Champion and has undergone enhanced training in dementia care, mental capacity and DoLs (deprivation of liberty safeguarding). Klara’s role ensures she is advocating for individuals to ensure their best interests are upheld and individuals with dementia are supported to lead fulfilled lives. Klara is involved in auditing processes to improve our dementia service and supports our care team and family members regarding issues relating to dementia care and services provided to older people.


‘I started working at LDNH as agency staff. I was sent here continuously for more than 2 years. The management of the care home noticed my skills and in October 2022 I was employed with a contract. In less than a year I became the unit lead in the dementia unit. I like working at LDNH because the management is supportive and there are countless opportunities to advance in my role. Apart from the supportive leadership, the most important thing is that we can make a difference in the days of our residents by providing them person person-centred care. We are a family that trusts and helps each other to give the best of us

‘I started working at LDNH in Dec 2020 as a care assistant, this was my first job in the care sector and I can definitely say I have found my passion. I have been lucky enough to progress within my career completing my Level 3 NVQ in Adult care and I am currently the Unit Lead on the Marquess suite, alongside completing my Level 5 in Management. I have grown as a person in confidence as well as gained a lot of knowledge and experience since I started working here. We have an amazing management team who are always there to support and guide us. All the staff here at LDNH are amazing and are continuously striving to be the best, we have a lovely atmosphere here and we all really care for the residents, we treat them as we would treat our own grandparents’.

India started working at Longbridge Deverill Nursing Home in September 2023 as a joint unit lead on the specialist dementia unit. India has worked in health and social care for 11 years and has loved every minute of it. She has found what she loves to do and has been lucky enough to progress in her career to a senior role. India is also being supported to complete her NVQ 5 in leadership and management.


Working at Longbridge Deverill is a pleasure and the staff and residents make it a truly amazing place to work.
