My mum moved here after failing to settle at a previous home. Within a month of being at Longbridge Deverill House and Nursing Home she was a different woman, more like her old self. She has regular hair appointments and is always dressed nicely with necklaces etc. The staff obviously care about the residents and have a joke with my mum which she loves.

Thank you so much for your lovely review, we are so please to hear that we have been able to support your mum to be more like her old self. We will ensure that these lovely comments are shared with the staff team.

Have always been impressed with the service provided by the staff at Longbridge Deverill House. The lady I represented was first placed in the care home in (I think) 2004 before later transferring to the nursing home. During this time she always praised the staff working there and felt well cared for. Not sure you can ask for much more and I can only express my gratitude to those who have worked at Longbridge Deverill House during this period of time.

My mum is treated with kindness and respect. Sometimes there are issues with short staffing (as is the same in many care homes). However, the carers always give 100%

Staff are very caring and understanding.
Negatives are:
Lack of internet which is being resolved; and

Lack of own transport which is being looked into.

Reply from Jo Needs, Regional Director at Longbridge Deverill House and Nursing Home

Many thanks for your review, I'm delighted to confirm that we now have Wi-Fi up and running across the home today which we are so excited about. We have looked into regular transport for the home to ensure that our residents have the opportunity of trips out on a regular basis. Our aim is to ensure our residents and families have the best experience possible.

The standard of care is of the highest, particularly in respect of nursing care in the secure unit, Incidents are properly investigated promptly and reported to the resident's relatives. The resident's needs are well assessed and necessary assistance and equipment are provided. Resident's private rooms and common rooms are kept very clean, odour free and there is a feeling through the building that it is very well managed and cared for.

In my view, it’s a great facility in a beautiful location and the care home people could not do a better job. Every single one of them has been fantastic not only with Mum but also with my sister and me. To see how gently and respectfully they deal with Mum has been such a comfort to us during what has been a difficult time for everyone over the last two years. A massive and heartfelt thank you to all of you.

Our mother was only in the home for 2 weeks. She was very poorly, but the home did everything to try to improve her illness, they treated her with dignity, allowing choice and preventing further deterioration, wherever possible. they allowed choice and tried to prepare us all for possible outcomes. They were constantly observing, providing support and reassuring when things were very difficult and nearing the end of life.

Sadly my (step) dad passed away at the end of September but his final 6 months were spent in the care of the team at Longbridge Deverill House. The whole care team were extremely caring and patient and on the occasions when he was feeling cheeky, his sense of humour and character was always encouraged and I believe enjoyed.
Following his death, staff expressed their thanks to my mum and I for allowing them the privilege of looking after him on our behalf. I cannot tell you how much these simple words comforted us both.

We will always have a special place in our hearts for the care team at Longbridge Deverill Nursing Home.
