The team at Longbridge Deverill House continue to provide exceptional dementia care for my father. Staff on Wylye are dedicated and show high levels of professionalism and compassion. My mother feels at home. This is a huge relief for us as a family. She has company when she wants it, and privacy when needed. The staff are brilliant, and her sense of security and contentment is palpable. The layout of the home gives a lot of freedom to explore and stay safe. We highly recommend.

Having lost my darling sister on the 23rd of April I have had the opportunity over 10 days to watch the staff, both nursing and others at their very best. The compassion and kindness shown to my sister and her family passed all expectations. Wonderful care was given to us all. Their patience with the other patients was still visible through a very difficult time. Thank you all.

My mother moved in March and has been so happy compared to the other nursing home. The staff are so different towards her and her whole demeanour has changed for the better. She has a lovely room with a lovely view outside and has bird feeders on her windows. it all makes her so happy. We couldn't wish for a better place for her to be.

There is a great team in place at Longbridge. Staff are helpful, friendly and always in my experience 'go the extra mile'. My mother was always going to find the transition to care provision a difficult one but the welcoming and homely environment at Longbridge has really helped. The staff have kept me well informed and are constantly thinking of new ideas to help with Mum's settling-in process. The activities (both craft and others like music/entertainment etc) are well organised and fun. Thank you 'Team Longbridge' you are all ace.

Our mum has been wonderfully cared for at Longbridge Deverill Home since 2020 when she could no longer look after herself in her home. We cannot thank the staff enough for keeping her and the other residents safe from the horrors of Covid. When I look at all the photos of the activities over December leading up to and after Christmas and the New Year, it brings joy to my heart to see all the lovely smiling faces of everyone. I would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who works there, tirelessly caring for those too old and frail or vulnerable to care for themselves. Our mum could have ended up anywhere after being in hospital when Covid struck and had to be found a home very quickly. When she was lucky enough to go to this loving care home, I knew someone up there was looking after her! It is such a comfort to know Mum’s last years will be safe and happy.

Lovely, caring nursing home. I felt they really knew my stepfather, despite his dementia and wanted to keep him comfortable in his final days.

His ensuite room was spacious and had a lovely view over fields.

I spent the last two days of my mother's life with her at home. Although I had not spent time with her recently, I had spoken to her at least once a week. (I live in the USA) and she was very happy to have chosen the home. Close friends who visited her were always very complimentary of the house and the care provided in her final two days the staff were awesome. They showed compassion visited regularly and encouraged her throughout. The administration staff were super helpful with wrapping up details after her passing. Thank you!

I live in the USA, so don't often get the opportunity to visit my dear Mum there, but I loved seeing her at the beginning of this year. She was relaxed and smiling, although, of course, doesn't say much. The staff are all attentive and positive, and the activities organised for the residents are varied and fantastic! Follow their monthly newsletter!

Overall Experience

This is my first experience of respite care for my husband with Alzheimer's, so had nothing to compare it with. On the whole, we were treated with respect and friendliness. My husband seemed to be fairly content and relaxed whilst there. I asked that staff would engage him in the activities that took place most days but he was unable to tell me what he had done, as he is virtually non-verbal. I was told he had been on an outing and he had and that he had taken part in one activity but received no further information. I would have liked to of known what he had been doing apart from sleeping. He is very quiet and would not have made a fuss. I would have liked a little more staff communication. Often when I visited there appeared no one around to speak to.
