A very caring environment in a lovely, homely care home. Always made welcome at any time.
My mother was extremely well cared for by a team of lovely people. My mother was there for very nearly 4 years and she was extremely well looked after.
Residents are encouraged to take part in as many activities
as possible.

Following a fall and subsequent hip operation, we were fortunate enough to find a vacancy at The Priory for Mum. The love and care she received throughout her two-year stay at The Priory, and especially during the last few difficult months, went well above and beyond the call of duty. The staff, without
exception, were professional, hardworking and extremely approachable. As a family, we soon became part of the Priory family and attended the many social events held throughout the year. The home was always extremely clean and the home cooked food was of an excellent quality using all fresh meat, vegetables and fruit and all diets were catered for. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Visiting was unrestricted and I was always met with a friendly face and a cup of tea. I really couldn't have wished for a better care home for Mum and remain extremely grateful to the owners and staff alike. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending The Priory.

Very positive experience. The care my father-in-law received was attentive, kind and professional. The staff and management created a welcoming and homely environment. Nothing was too much trouble. The activities were varied and fun. The food was excellent with a varied menu. My father-in-law's room
was like a hotel room. Towards the end of his life, the staff were supportive of not only his needs but also that of his family. Their kindness made his passing easier to come to terms with. A very positive and caring experience.

My brother, three sisters and I feel that our mother is well cared for at the Priory, Chippenham. She is very happy and contented and feels safe and secure. The staff are very friendly and helpful in every way.
The food is excellent, the rooms are comfortable and clean. Also, the staff try a range
of activities to keep them stimulated and do their best to give them a good quality of life. I would finally like to say that I would not hesitate to recommend the Priory to anyone.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.572)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.572) out of 10 for The Priory is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.972 for The Priory is calculated as follows: ( (70 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 72 Ratings = 4.972

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Priory is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
