The home has a friendly, homely atmosphere. Although it does not have the room facilities (ensuite) of a modern house, the care is very good, and other communal areas (lounge, garden etc) are well maintained, clean and welcoming. Staff have coped well with the pressures of Covid and maintained high
levels of excellence in care.

The home offers a good standard of care, especially in light of Covid times, which have affected staffing levels at times. Residents are provided with a high variety of activities and outings (when possible). A relative of mine lived here for several years, and I had no doubt about our choice of home.

We are so lucky to have found Seymour House because the staff are simply amazing. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and they all look after Mum very, very well. I can't think of a better place for Mum.

86 OAP Gent! Having full treatment that had been provided when asked or given! A place that has found time and patience that was needed to keep some long or short term treatment.

The care home that my dad is in at Chippenham Seymour House is amazing. They are all very caring, kind, loving and friendly. They all do their job well. The manager is a star and is amazing, and does her job well. My dad is very happy and loves being there. We both are happy with everything, we can't
fault it one bit.

My mother has moved here from her previous care home because there were a few things I was unhappy with and all I can say is what a difference in the care she is now receiving. Each member of staff has gone above and beyond to make Mum happy and have made a point of getting to know her and her likes
and dislikes. I cannot speak highly enough of Seymour House. Best move ever!

The carers at Seymour House are outstanding during these difficult times. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Keeping us informed on how our family members are coping without seeing us, by videos and photos on Facebook. Even a little note saying we are loved and missed, put in the post from one of
the ladies in the office with the monthly bills, so we know our loved ones are being well looked after at Seymour.

Mum had deteriorated living independently, falling down and started to wonder. As we were due to go away, we needed to find her a new home for all our peace of mind. We are so pleased with Seymour House, she has a nice room with a view. All the staff are fantastic, and the facilities are first class.
Five stars, thank you all.

The staff, management and facilities were very good. The home is kept clean and the food and service is good. My only problem came first thing in the morning when I had to wait for a carer to come to help me with washing and dressing.

My mum has been a resident here for about 18 months and unfortunately, we lost her in January to a terminal illness. She was able to spend her last days at Seymour House, with all her lovely carers who were absolutely fantastic. I could not have asked for anything more. They were genuinely loving and
caring and she was so well looked after. They never left her alone. I cannot thank them enough and have also continued their loving caring support towards me, checking in to see how I am. I will never forget every member of staff that cared for my mum. A huge thanks xxx

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.413)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.413) out of 10 for Seymour House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.513 for Seymour House is calculated as follows: ( (78 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 115 Ratings = 4.513
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Seymour House is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
