Sue’s journey in care originally started in the 1970s when she worked for several years as a Care Assistant for the elderly. Sue then focused on raising her young family until returning to the care industry in 2002 when she and her late husband Richard purchased their first care home, Quarry Mount, in Swindon. Their vision for compassionate care expanded in 2009 with the acquisition of a sister home, Northfield House in Stroud. At the heart of Sue’s approach is the belief that both residents and staff should be treated as part of an extended family. This philosophy has been the cornerstone of her care homes’ success and reputation.
The powerful motto is “Care with Compassion & Commitment”. encapsulates the ethos that drives every aspect of care at both homes: The staff are chosen not only for their qualifications but also for their ability to show kindness, understanding, and empathy. The dedication to providing the highest quality of care is evident in the staff, ensuring personalised attention for each resident. Quarry Mount is more than just a care facility; it’s a true home for its residents:

Karen has worked at Quarry Mount since 1985 when she initially started her career as a carer and worked her way up, eventually taking over the role of Registered Manager in 1994, and has had a very important part in embedding the high quality care and values of Quarry Mount ever since.
Karen went on to achieve her Registered Managers award and has completed countless training seminars and individual training courses to expand her knowledge over the years and keep up to date with any changes to the legislation.
Karen shares our ethos to provide a warm loving family atmosphere whilst providing Care with Compassion and Commitment.

Claire Joined Quarry Mount in 2021 having made the decision to take a leap of faith with a complete change of career. Care was something that Claire had felt naturally drawn to try, as it fitted with her very caring nature.
Combined with her previous organisational and supervisory experience, this meant that we soon identified Claire’s strong leadership skills and suitability to work alongside supporting Karen as our Assistant Manager, helping to lead the staff and completing required processes. We are delighted that Claire’s contribution goes a long way to make Quarry Mount a safe and happy environment for our staff to work and residents to live
