The setting is lovely. The meals are great.
It feels a happy place.
During a very difficult time with our family we needed to find care for my mother who suffers with Alzheimers Disease as my father was very ill. Lady Katherine went to great lengths to accomodate her for respite at very short notice. Mum has been with them now since April and remains there long term. We are so grateful for the incredible support all of the carers and staff show to mum. She is very settled and there is always positive and stimulating activities for all the residents. Always welcoming when we visit and we feel great comfortable knowing that mum is very safe and well cared for in her new home.
I lived in the local area but knew nothing of Lady K until I was booked in by my Power of Attorney. I don't think a better choice could have been made.
It's such a pleasure having you join the Lady K family- We're so glad you chose us!
Exception care provided for my mother from an exceptional team. There's nothing that the team wouldn't do to make my mother feels comfortable, just ask. My mother was nervous when she first went in, unable to communicate with the team due to language barrier. However, she becomes more confident each day and tries her best to communicate 5 weeks in. I can't thank Lady K enough for lessen my burden in looking after my mother. Thank you to the whole team.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt message. Your kind words about Lady K and the wider team are greatly appreciated. We are very fortunate to have such dedicated staff who genuinely care about the wellbeing and dignity of every resident. We remain...
He always looks clean and happy and he says he's never eaten so well in his life!
It's a great relief to see him happy, warm, safe and making friends.
Excellent service!
Kirsten.
Thank you so much for the lovely review, Kirsten! We are truly honored that you chose Lady K for your uncle. He has quickly become a beloved member of our family here, and it is a pleasure to have him with us every day.
My mum is staying at Lady Katherine Housing & Care for respite care and I couldn't be more grateful. The staff are incredibly kind, caring, patient, supportive and compassionate treating mum as well, if not better, than I could myself. Mum's health has improved greatly during her stay. Leadership team and staff are all very approachable and easy to communicate with. If there are any minor issues they are dealt with quickly - nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Were delighted to hear your mum has benefited from her stay and that our team has been able to support her with the care, compassion and respect she deserves. Your recommendation truly means a great deal to us.
I put my mum in lady K at the beginning of September initially for respite. She has been cared for by such lovely staff and being served fresh home cooked food. i feel she's much safer here than being at home and have decided to make her a permanent resident.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback and appreciation, this is highly appreciated by us all, we are delighted to have Mum join our community.
This is the second review I have completed. The first one was critical of certain aspects of the care afforded to my wife. The recruitment of some excellent carers has made an enormous difference. I now think I understand that certain protocols and procedures need to be applied before changes/improvements can be made. If this had been made clear to me long ago I would have understood how I could help.
It was Mum's first time in respite and she was frightened and we were really worried about her but right from the get go Mum was put at ease. The lady were kind, patient and reassuring and did all they could to make Mum feel "at home" and at ease. I can't thank you enough for helping us out and particular thanks must go to Sal who looked out for Mum and even let her sit in the office when she was feeling overwhelmed. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this fantastic place to anyone in the same situation , thanks again.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We're really pleased to hear that you felt reassured and that your mom had a good stay with us. It means a lot to know our care made a positive difference. We hope to welcome your mom again soon!
The staff are not only professional and attentive, but they genuinely care about the residents. It's clear that this is more than just a job to them. The facilities are always clean, bright, and thoughtfully arranged. My mother has her own private room, which she is able to personalise with her favourite belongings, and she feels right at home. The gardens are beautifully maintained and provide a peaceful retreat where she enjoys sitting with other residents or reading a book.
We truly appreciate your kind words and your support. It's wonderful that your mother, as an independent resident, enjoys her freedom while still being a valued part of our community and she is very happy and proud of her apartment.
A beautiful period building with many original features and a safe, secure grassed court area. The lounge is always busy and social, the food well prepared, fresh and tasty. Activities are well planned and fun. The standout however is the staff. They are all compassionate, caring, helpful and supportive. This is a residence that is a home, rather than a facility where people are segregated according to their level of dependency. Keeping all residents together and in touch with each other. This leads to a sense of community and fellowship rather than isolation and loneliness. It is a happy place.
It warms our hearts to hear your kind words. Knowing that your mother enjoyed her short but sweet stay with us; it truly means a lot to us. Your positive feedback helps boosts us to providing compassionate care for all our residents and strengthens the wonderful community we share. Thank you!
I was granted a place for independent living at this address in November 2024. From the first communication with the Deputy Care Manager and her team, I have experienced the utmost kindness and courtesy. The accommodation is quiet, comfortable and well-heated, and the option of various services like cleaning, tasty and well-prepared hot meals, and full respite care, the facilities are wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend Lady Katherine facilities to anyone worried about their loved ones. They will be happy and well cared for by clean, well maintained and wonderful staff. I cannot praise them enough for their welcome and kind support.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback and appreciation, this is highly appreciated by us all, we are delighted to have you join our community and you are a great addition to the Lady K family- All the best.
We have recently moved Mom into Lady Katherine Care Home from another care home where Mom was a resident for nearly 3 years. We were very concerned for Mom's well-being at her previous home as staffing levels were unacceptable and we felt Mom was being neglected. I had heard only good reports about Lady Katherine's home so I decided to pay a visit and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I met the manager and staff I have been shown such kindness and understanding. It's not an easy process having to move a dementia patient but they have handled the process professionally and efficiently. The difference in the care my mom is now receiving is such a relief to me. Daily activities help my mom's well-being and carers are always there to help her. Nothing is too much trouble including a constant supply of tea and biscuits! The level of care is outstanding I could not be happier.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It really warms my heart to hear how much of a difference we've been able to make in your mom's care. I know how tough it can be to make such a big change, so I'm so glad our team could make the process easier for you. We're always here to help and ensure your mom feels supported. And yes, plenty of tea and biscuits are definitely part of the package!
Lady Katherine's is a very special place. My lovely Mum has been a resident for 8 years and I'm so glad my Dad found and chose this home for her. The facilities are good, the rooms comfortable, the meals great and there are lots of activities and trips. But most importantly the team is amazing. It really does feel like a family. Nothing is ever too much trouble, everyone is really supportive and open and the carers and medical staff put a lot of effort into understanding my Mum and her needs and working out the best ways to manage them. My Mum has made friends with both residents and staff and I know she is not just receiving top-quality professional care, but she is also happy and content.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. It truly means the world to us to hear that Lady Katherine's feels like a family and has provided your Mum with the care, comfort and happiness she deserves. We're honoured to have been part of her journey for the past eight years and grateful for your trust in us.
She was always treated with respect, dignity and love by all the staff, especially at difficult times.
The home, in its cleanliness, laundry and housekeeping was always excellent.
The management team's communication and face-to-face contact kept us well-informed.
The special occasions are celebrated in style.
There were daily activities to participate in, but latterly she enjoyed the singing at each opportunity.
As her days faded, the palliative care she received from the staff was exemplary. The constant care, personal attention, and every aspect throughout was given with the utmost compassion, gentleness and kindness that anyone would wish for their loved one to receive.
I and my family will be forever grateful for each and every day my mother spent with you all. Thank you.
We are deeply moved by your heartfelt words and cannot thank you enough for taking the time to share your experience with us. It has been a true honor to care for your mother since 2018, and we are humbled by your kind acknowledgment of the love, respect, and dignity our team provided to her every...
I appreciate that this would be difficult to do. The entrance area and downstairs toilet are small and often congested.
It is good that the residents are all together in the lounge rather than alone in their rooms. The choice is there for them, however.
The staff are always cheerful and helpful to visitors and residents. Many of the staff have worked there for a long time so management would appear to be good.
Thank you for sharing your thoughtful feedback regarding our building and facilities. We truly value input from our residents and visitors, as it helps us continually enhance the experience and environment we provide. It's wonderful to hear that you appreciate the communal atmosphere in the lounge...
I found the staff to be very kind, caring and responsive. The accommodation is very private, a stimulating environment with the added bonus of being in a truly beautiful and peaceful setting. To me, it seemed like a proper home rather than just a care facility.
Thank you, we have already booked another stay!
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are delighted to hear that your mum had a positive experience during her respite care and that the environment felt like a home away from home. Our team takes great pride in providing attentive, compassionate care, and we are so pleased that you found the...
I have been at Lady Katherine for two years. When I first came I needed full care so had a flat on the ground floor. The staff do a wonderful job, they are all very good carers. When I was much better and could look after myself I moved to a flat on the first floor, I do have a stair lift and I am a sheltered independent resident now. Care is always on hand if needed. In the main house, dining room, lounge and kitchen on the first floor more flats and bedsits, so good accommodations all around.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience at Lady Katherine over the past two years. We're delighted to hear that you found the care provided by our staff to be wonderful and that you were able to transition to more independent living as your health improved. It's our goal to ensure that all...
Following a move for my father from another care home Lady Katherine Housing & Care has been a breath of fresh air. All aspects of the experience from administration to care have been attentive, respectful and efficient. The staff are excellent and very caring. This is immediately evident from observing the wonderful relationship they have with the residents. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lady Katherine.
Thank you Jason for leaving a review, we are delighted that your experience with your father's transfer to Lady K went smoothly and efficiently. It's wonderful to know that you were impressed with the excellent care and compassion shown by our staff. We look forward to continuing to provide your father with the highest standard of care and support.
The team at Lady Katherine managed the transition of my Father into their care with ease and efficiency. This was a very traumatic time for our family and their sensitivity and support went a long way in making it as painless as possible. Since his first week in June 2024, we have seen him settle and the staff really take him into the Lady K Family, something very special and wonderful to be a part of and we feel blessed to have him in such a loving and safe environment. Dad had settled within a month and is now happy and content with all his new extended family and friends. I would recommend Lady Katherine and their amazing team of staff to anyone who needed to make this huge and very difficult step as our experience has been more than we could have imagined. Thank you to every single person in the team, we appreciate you.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. We are deeply touched by your kind words and are honoured to have had the opportunity to care for your father during such a significant time in your family's life. We understand how challenging the transition can be and we're grateful that our team's...

Meet the Team (2)

I have always been passionate about working in care and have been fortunate enough to gain extensive experience in this field over the years, and to be working in such a beautiful, historic environment at Temple Balsall.
I commenced my journey with the Lady Katherine Housing & Care family back in 2010, starting out as a night carer. By 2012, I achieved my Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, paving the way to a career I am deeply passionate about. With a dedication to continuous learning, I successfully completed the NVQ Level 5 Management Leadership for Health and Social Care.
During the twelve happy years working at our care home, I was promoted to increasingly more senior roles until I was appointed the registered care manager in 2022.

I have been working at Lady Katherine Housing & Care home for the last 6 years starting as a Care Assistant and then being progressively promoted to become Deputy Care Manager in 2022.
I have a passion for working in Health and Social Care and love working at Lady Katherine. I studied Health & Social Care at University College Birmingham and then pursued a BA Honours Degree in Social Care at Wolverhampton University. My academic achievements have helped me become a highly skilled and knowledgeable professional in my field.
Working at Lady Katherine Housing & Care is a particularly rewarding experience. I am drawn to the unique atmosphere, history and surroundings of the community. The residents and my colleagues made me feel welcome and valued from the moment I walked through the door. I am grateful to be part of such a warm and caring team and I am committed to continue providing the best possible care to our residents.
I am always dedicated to go above and beyond for those I care for and their families.
