It was a difficult decision to look for a care home for dad as he had lived with me for 6 years since losing mum, but I was starting to struggle. My son found Pelsall Hall, and all stresses and worries have been removed from me. From the start, everyone has been pleasant, reassuring, and professional.
Dad has been here now for 7 weeks. He has settled really well and we are both very impressed with the standard of care and the cleanliness, not to mention he raves about the food! I needn’t have worried. Everyone is so friendly and caring. At the age of 93 dad has now new friends and a new lease of life. Thank you, everyone.

Right from the initial contact with Prelsall Hall, we were dealt with in a very professional and friendly manner. Our sister-in-law was made very welcome and she quickly settled down in the home very quickly. She remained happy and contented throughout the stay with the home and this greatly aided her
recovery.

I have been extremely pleased with the care my mother has received since January 2021. All the staff have been experts in their field, putting myself and my family at ease at this time. Not being able to visit Mom was difficult as I cared for her for many years, but with video calls and phone calls,
we got through. Well done, Pelsall Hall.

My dad died just over two years ago aged 93, although this was terribly traumatic for all the family it now also meant my mom would be left on her own after 65 years of marriage, she was lucky to still have good health and a strong mind and with a lot of support from the family she was coping quite
well, as the time went by we could see a slow but concerning reduction in both her mental and physical abilities, in 18 months we had gone from visiting once a day to three times a day and realised we could no longer provide the level of care she needed, we looked at lots of options but was lucky to find Pelsall Hall on the doorstep, after a number of virtual meetings and phone conversations we were convinced this was the perfect place for mom, she settled in very quickly and we have seen a steady improvement in both her mental and physical abilities, we can’t praise all the staff enough as they have worked tirelessly to ensure mom is now receiving the level of care she now needs and deserves.

In recent months Mum has sustained several falls at home with the last fall resulting in fracturing her ankle. After a month in hospital, the family realised that it would be unsafe for her to return home and that she was in need of a greater level of care than we could provide for at home. I must admit
that the thought of finding a suitable care home for Mum filled me with trepidation, then we found Pelsall Hall. The home came recommended to us through three totally independent sources, and we have not been disappointed. Right from our first meeting at the home, the staff have been both professional and very caring. They have made Mum's transfer from the hospital seamless and have coped admirably with Mum's mobility problems. Mum has settled in very well and is full of praise of both the staff and care that she has received since being at Pelsall Hall.
I have always found the staff and management very approachable, helpful and friendly and would certainly recommend the home.

I chose this care home as I researched and found it the best in the area local to the family. The staff are wonderful, caring and professional. My mother is content and takes part in activities when she can. The rooms are kept clean and tidy. The food is most acceptable. The response to covid has been
extremely good. We have always felt welcome by management and staff.

My aunt has only been with Greensleeves for a short time initially for respite care and due to the Coronavirus situation we have very restricted access to the inside of the home, but with staff etc that we have had contact with it seems that we have chosen an excellent care home long term.

My mother-in-law required extra support following the death of my father-in-law and a subsequent hip operation during lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The initial conversations and the support during Mum's stay has been exceptional. The family were unsure if Mum would be able to live independently
again but within 6 weeks she was a different woman thanks to the above and beyond support from all the staff at Pelsall Hall.
Mum's medication was reduced which reduced her confusion and tremors and increased her mental capacity and speech which is better than its been for years!
Mum said "The girls are marvellous and helped me an awful lot doing day to day activities, playing bingo, painting my nails and making cards."
The staff were always really helpful to the family with any requests or keeping us up to date.
Thank you so very much for all you have done. We feel like our mum has come back to us!

My father lived in Pelsall Hall since 2015 and during that time was cared for by a wonderful group of people who treated him with respect and kindness encouraging him to join in the various activities available to live a full and happy life.
I would recommend Pelsall Hall and am glad that dad spent
his final years amongst friends in a safe and comfortable environment where relatives and visitors were always welcomed.

My mum has been in Pelsall Hall since 2005, after the care she has received, I can only say how fortunate I am to say a Big Thank You to all the staff for looking after her. Mum has dementia and I can appreciate how difficult it must be to look after her everyday needs. She will not get better, it's
an awful disease that affects so many people. Thank you for all that you do.

I have been a regular visitor to see my cousin at Pelsall Hall. Immediately one enters there is a warm welcome and always cordial staff present. Staff are so hard working friendly and provide top levels of care.
The whole home, gardens, kitchen and offices are highly commendable. My cousin came into
Pelsall Hall directly from hospital and not in the greatest condition. But the care, attention and help she has received have been first class. She is a lively active lady and loving life at Pelsall Hall.

Both my parents lived at Pelsall Hall from May 2013. My Dad died during November 2017 and my Mum during August 2018. Pelsall Hall administered end of life care to both of them (Dad aged 98 and Mum aged 90 who suffered from Dementia). I have written personally to Pelsall Hall to thank them for looking
after my parents in an exemplary fashion since 2013. Management and staff at this care home are exceptional. I recommend the home. It was recommended to me by my neighbour, a doctor (now deceased) who had a friend as a resident at the home. I cannot thank all at Pelsall Hall enough. They made my parent's lives worth living. I know both of them would agree. My Dad told me he thought they were very fortunate that my wife and I had found Pelsall Hall for them. Prior to moving to Pelsall Hall, my parents lived in their own bungalow in North Wales. Social Services said they could no longer look after themselves following falls and hospital admittance. They were self-funding.

When my father passed away, Pelsall Hall was highly recommended to myself and family, as my mother was unable to stay in her home. It has met and exceeded all our expectations. It has a lovely, friendly, welcoming feel. All staff always acknowledge everyone and encourage the residents to socialise and
also be as independent as possible. The care is exceptional and there are always activities and parties planned which all residents seem to enjoy immensely. Staff and management are so supportive and I would not hesitate to recommend Pelsall Hall to others.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.613)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.613) out of 10 for Pelsall Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.837 for Pelsall Hall is calculated as follows: ( (80 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 92 Ratings = 4.837
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.776 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Pelsall Hall is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.2 = 0.976
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
