My father was diagnosed with advanced dementia in January and taken to Haresbrook in February. The staff and home were marvellous always providing fantastic care and providing updates. The facilities the care he was provided with made an awful experience bearable and everyone was so friendly and informative.
Dad fell in May and was admitted to hospital at Hereford he passed yesterday 30/06/23. At all times the staff kept me updated and I want to especially thank the manger and another staff member who were marvellous. To that member of staff, I know you thought a lot of my dad and can’t thank you enough for what you did for him and our family. I can only recommend Haresbrook at the highest level who looked after my dad in his final months. Thank you all so much.
Reply from Helen Whitehouse, Manager at Haresbrook Park Care HomeDespite your fathers dementia, he was always a gentleman with a resounding singing voice. He made so many friends and his presence at the home is sorely missed.
Thank you for your kind words: I will share your comments with the team.
Kindest regards always.

I am so pleased with the care my mother receives at Haresbrook Park Care Home.
My mother has very challenging behaviour, the staff deal with this brilliantly, completely professional and compassionate towards her. They go the extra mile to make her happy and comfortable.
They have an amazing activity
programme and they go out on lovely trips.
My work sometimes takes me away from home. I feel confident that they can deal with any issues which may arise.
Everything is taken care of, doctors, opticians ect is dealt with in-house making her life that much easier.
I cannot praise my mother's care enough.
It is reassuring to know that she is cared for so well.
Team Haresbrook you are amazing.
Thank you.
Reply from Helen Whitehouse, Manager at Haresbrook Park Care HomeColin thank you for your lovely comments. I will pass them onto the team that look after your mum.

My aunt was admitted to Haresbrook Park Care Home at very short notice due to a carer breakdown. Unfortunately, a very bad bedsore was discovered on admission. Eventually, bedbound, she was turned every hour to relieve the pressure. She was treated compassionately and professionally. When visiting or
phoning Harebrook I was impressed by the way I was dealt with in a caring way by the staff. As soon as you walk through the door, you get an impression of warmth and humanity. When she was dying and after her death, she was treated with dignity, and I was treated with compassion.
Reply from Helen Whitehouse, Manager at Haresbrook Park Care HomeThank you for your positive comments about the home and staff. Your aunt was a pleasure to know and look after even for such a short time.
I will pass your comments on to the staff at our daily stand-up meeting.
Please keep in touch

We have had an excellent experience since placing my Mum in Haresbrook in March 2022. The staff and management have all been very helpful and caring and I’m must single out the manager for accommodating our needs which have been variable because of the prevalence of Covid. Mum was placed in Haresbrook
as a temporary requirement until we could find a permanent placement more local to her immediate family. Anyway, we have to change the transfer date several times because of Covid outbreaks at both Care Homes and Haresbrook have been really flexible and helpful in that regard. The Home itself is very well run and the setting is lovely on the edge of town with large gardens and open space. Mum have been very well cared for at Haresbrook and sadly we cannot move Haresbrook nearer to us.
Reply from Helen Whitehouse, Manager at Haresbrook Park Care HomeThank you Derek
We continually strive to provide a good service at Haresbrook. I will share your comments with the staff at the earliest opportunity.
We hope that Mum settles into her new home closer to her family.
Sincere thanks

Very disappointed and upset that my father was left to die alone. I had rung in the afternoon to ask about my father and reminded the staff that I wished to be with my father when he died and asked them to inform me if he deteriorated. Was told he was stable and could not visit currently due to Covid.
Phone call at just after 9 pm to say they had found him dead. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Reply from Helen Whitehouse, Manager at Haresbrook Park Care HomeI am sincerely sorry that you feel this way and that you had a negative experience.
I know how difficult it has been for family members not being able to be with their loved ones at this time and not being able to be with their loved ones during a Coronavirus outbreak. I acknowledge your contact with the home in the afternoon and at the time of your call, your loved one was comfortable and did not give us undue cause for concern as he had been communicating and taking fluids that day. He was on regular observations and being checked at least every hour.
He was awake at his 20.30hrs check but unfortunately, when his prescribed medication was taken to him at 21.22 he had passed away in his sleep.
Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss and our apologies once again for any distress this may have caused you and your family.

We have found Haresbrook Park Care Home to be exceptional in their care, my mother in law has settled in really well, she has been there for 12 months and is very happy. My experience is that they go above and beyond.
There are so many acts of kindness that I just wish I could detail them here, It
honestly feels like an extended family.
She loves her room, she is doing activities that she never would have done for example swimming.
They encourage her to take pride in her appearance and in my opinion, she has gained a far better quality of life since being there.
We have attended many events and it's always a fun time with great food, they have a better social life than me!
Thank you Haresbrook.

I can't believe what I am reading in these negative reviews. All I can say is that when I am visiting the staff are happy and friendly and are doing all they can to make sure they are giving care to the residents. I have seen many care homes fail to give care. This however is not one of them. It's so
easy to put the blame on those caring for our loved ones when we morn the loss of loved ones ourselves maybe it's the guilt we couldn't get to see them much or have done more ourselves
Reply from Helen Whitehouse, Manager at Haresbrook Park Care HomeThe staff do try to get things right every time and we acknowledge that we are not perfect. The staff team here work hard and we have kept COVID away throughout the last 2 years which is not an easy thing to do with residents who have a Dementia.
I will pass your comments onto the staff.
Once again thank you.

Just think before you use this place.
I’m totally destroyed with myself because I left my dad here.
I wish I could go back.
I would not leave my beloved dog here.
I miss dad more than life.
They made so many mistakes.
Yet will get away with it.
My life is just full of guilt because I left
dad here with these people.
Lies lies.
I hope nobody else goes to hell like I’m in.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.682)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.682) out of 10 for Haresbrook Park Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.732 for Haresbrook Park Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (157 Excellents x 5) + (55 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 213 Ratings = 4.732
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Haresbrook Park Care Home is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 registered maximum number of service users is 11.4, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
