I have nothing but praise for the care and love that all the staff at Hillcrest showed to my mum. Not only were they lovely with mum, but the nurses were always there for me too when I found dealing with dementia too much to bear. A fair few times I ended up crying in their office while they listened
with understanding and no judgement at all. In fact, all the staff had taken time to get to know mum well and were kindness personified, particularly in the last few difficult weeks. She passed in her own, beautiful room with French doors looking out over the gardens and on to the impressive Shropshire hills beyond. Quite simply, I could have wished for nothing more.
Reply from Jan Downes, Home Manager at Hillcrest Manor Nursing HomeThank you so much for such a lovely review. Your mum was a wonderful lady who was a pleasure to know, and we miss her hugely. I am so pleased everything worked out and you were able to feel supported by the staff - we aim to help residents and families in any way we can. Thank you again.

The home has a very warm, welcoming atmosphere when you first walk in. All the staff are kind, caring and compassionate. I am so pleased we managed to secure a place for my dad. We know if we have a problem, we can speak to the manager or deputy manager, who will endeavour to resolve any issues that
may have occurred. It's a pleasure to visit my dad, knowing he is now in his forever home and being looked after so well. Thank you, everyone.

my mum moved into chesford grange in sept 2025 all i can say is that the staff from the manger/deputy are absolutley fantastic nothing is to much trouble for any of the staff. They certainly put my mind at ease. The manager and deputy are very approachable with an open door policy which is fab.the care
staff are brilliant looking after the residents with nothing but respect and dignity and are very chatty with visitors which i find great nothing is to much trouble for them. I really should not of worried moving my mum into chesford grange as she seems so content and is flourishing which is lovely to see.The home is spotless which is down to all including domestics and care staff.Mums bedroom is spacious and also spotless.Laundry staff also go above and beyond and the Hairdresser also does a great job with mum's hair.I can not find any fault with the home so glad i didn't take on board the cqc report and went with my own feelings when i went to look around its the best

Your mum is an absolute pleasure to care for and does seem to have settled in very well. Working in partnership with residents and their loved ones is definitely the key to success in terms of delivering good care. I have to say that you have been supportive of us from day one. The staff have mentioned that you always thank them on every visit for what they do for your mum and I know this because you always thank me too each time we meet. This has such a powerful impact on us all and it reminded me of the duty of care I have to my staff team as well as the Residents in my care. My father-in-law has been a resident at Evedale for 3 weeks. During his time at Evedale all staff have shown wonderful care, kindness + friendship. The premises are of a high standard, since having a refurbishment + my father-in-law's room is very spacious with ensuite. The entertainment is good especially
the Elvis tribute last saturday. Evedale is well led by it's manager and there is a very positive and happy vibe with the staff. Cleanliness is to a very good standard. I would recommend Evedale to family + friends.

My sister was in the home for some years. The manager was always very kind, helpful and professional. Always there if needed. My sister was looked after by the staff with kindness, dignity and friendliness. This is a lovely home and the staff are amazing - hard working and caring. We were very grateful
to them for the care.
