Despite my wish for my wife to be looked after in her home I was advised by family and medical staff that this would not be easy and a care home would be a better solution. The discharge staff at the hospital found that Westfield Lodge (less than a mile from home)
had availability and she was admitted.
The Lodge has excellent staff from management to cleaners, all very pleasant and welcoming and very friendly nothing is to much trouble for them.
The rooms are well equipped with washing facilities and television and are cleaned regularly.
Food is excellent with a good selection of meals for the residents all fresh and cooked to perfection.
All communal areas are immaculate and calming to sit in.
The home is safe and secure with remote entry and exit controlled by staff.

I cannot fault the home or staff and pleased that I listened to friends family and medical staff.

Could not have asked for better care for my dad during the last two years of his life. Staff were approachable, kind and caring throughout the home. All queries and any issues we had were dealt with a considerate and fair manner, with my dad's health and safety their first and foremost concern. Management were always professional and courteous to me and my family and dad was always treated with respect and dignity.

My mum is a current resident of Westfield Lodge, when she arrived at Westfield from hospital we had been told that she was bedbound and would not improve, she has been there since March 2024 and through the care and help of the staff she enjoys all the home as to offer and she is now able to walk using a frame short distances and loves singing and dancing with the staff. The care and compassion shown by all the staff is amazing and I say to anyone that will listen that Westfield Lodge is the standard for what all care homes should be.

When choosing a care home for my nan to spend the rest of her life in I was nervous wanting to do right by her as she could no longer live by herself, I went to view Westfield lodge and I felt like I'd hit the jackpot! The people are lovely the decor is fantastic it's a real home from home feel. The food always looks amazing nan always comments on how lovely her dinners are. The carers really do care and do their best by Nan, even when Nan is in one of challenging moods they persevere with her which is reassuring for us.

There's activities on every day during the week and the residents all love it Nan joins in when she feels like it and they're always laughing and smiling, it's very reassuring.

My father spent the last 10 months of his life at Westfield Lodge, suffering from terminal cancer and Alzheimer's. The care and compassion received from management and staff were exemplary, and this extended to us as a family. I would have no hesitation in recommending Westfield to anyone. Our grateful thanks for the care shown to my father and for allowing him dignity in the last months of his life.

My mum was at Westfield Lodge for two months on end-of-life care. In this time, I found the manager, who is hands on & leads by example, & all of her staff team friendly, welcoming, professional, energetic, positive, compassionate, committed & dedicated to their jobs. Providing great care for mum, they were also very supportive towards me & other family member's which we greatly appreciated. They treated mum with respect kindness, patience & dignity and they had a great awareness of how to communicate with her, even when at times she could be difficult & not in the best of moods, they would often have her smiling & laughing again with them. All rooms including social areas were kept very clean. There was a good range of activities & entertainment provided. The food cooked on site by the kitchen staff was excellent and varied. Thank you very much to the manager and all the staff here for providing outstanding care for my mum & a friendly, supportive, caring, homely atmosphere for all.

The care given to Mum is second to none. All the staff are amazing. The way they treat not only Mum by us as a family is lovely.

We feel part of a family and are treated as part of one big family at Westfield. We are welcomed with open arms as family. The atmosphere in the home is one filled with laughter. There is always some activity or entertainment happening. They have given Mum a new lease of life and we are 100% certain that without them Mum wouldn't be here.

My husband had dementia and was in end of life care, he was treated with respect and great kindness even when he threw things, they were great with him, and tried to give him the best life he could have in the time he was with them. Their kindness was also extended to me and my family, on his death they were so good to us and explained what had to happen next. My husband had an aneurysm which burst.

When our mum could no longer safely live on her own at home looking for a suitable care was a minefield, we finally settled on Westfield Lodge as we agreed that this seemed the one. We couldn't be more happier with the care that our mum receives 24/7, we can relax when not with her as we know that she's getting all the care and attention that she needs. As well as being excellent carers for the residents they have also become our friends who we visit just as much as our mum. Westfield don't just provide care but they also keep the residents and families entertained on visits everyday, with the resident activity coordinator providing fun, games and booking visiting singers and entertainers etc. We couldn't have wished for a better place to call home for our mum who has gained more friends than ever and we have to. No one wants to see their family members go into a nursing home but Westfield Lodge makes it all that much easier. The staff at Westfield lodge are worth their weight in gold.

My thought on Westfield Lodge is excellent service, very friendly, outgoing staff, nothing too much trouble if you ask for anything, the food is excellent, and the place is spotlessly clean. The home is run by a friendly, hardworking person who is dedicated to her job. My mum is very happy in there, settled down well, so I feel happy because I know Mum is being well cared for. Nursing excellent. Excellent service. Well recommended.

My mother-in-law has lived at Westfield Lodge for almost 12 months now, I can honestly say that the care she receives is second to none, after coming to Westfield Lodge from a temporary assessment care home, I cannot believe the difference this has made to her, she is clean and well nourished, her clothes are always clean and she is well presented, she has her hair done every week by a professional hairdresser, she has her nails painted, they have daily activities for all the residents to participate should they wish to. She has had no falls, no broken bones and she seems very happy and content. The manager as well as another staff member and most of the staff are amazing, we as a family are in no doubt that our loved one is receiving the best care possible and at 93 years old, this is exactly what she should have. I would 100% recommend Westfield Lodge.

My deepest thanks go to all the staff of Westfield Lodge Care Home. My mum was only here for just over a month and sadly passed away. I only wish she was still with us to enjoy the care and commitment and entertainment from the home. When we went to visit to look round for a home for my mum this home is 5 minutes from my home, I was determined not to let this sway me with my decision and that I would come away and think about it. I was hooked from the moment I walked in it was like home from home and I knew it was right for her and her needs. The staff really couldn't do enough and it was a case of the old saying 'jump' and the staff asking how high and never having to ask twice as any requests were dealt with there and then. When sadly the ambulance got called to my mum as they were leaving there must have been 8 staff waiting outside her room to see she was okay. If that is not commitment and care then what is?

Thank you to all.

Mum was admitted on Saturday the 26th of October and was immediately treated with the utmost care, dignity and love. I would sincerely like to say a big thank you to everyone at Westfield Lodge Care Home for their care and support to both my husband and myself, during his time there. Everyone was so friendly and there was always a laugh to be had. My husband enjoyed taking part in the activities - especially the day trips out. The Activities Co-ordinator goes above and beyond to ensure that the residents are kept entertained and to keep their minds active. The Care Staff are exceptional - nothing is too much trouble. The Kitchen Staff always provided excellent quality meals. The Manager plays a big part in ensuring that Westfield Lodge makes the residents and family members feel like part of a 'Family'.
