Westfield Lodge Care Home is a modern purpose-built home in Weston Coyney.

The care home has gardens with a water feature and plum trees. Near the home is a lake, where residents and staff enjoy feeding the swans and ducks.

There are communal lounges where residents can socialise as well as quiet lounges and a bright and sunny conservatory. Residents are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms and are consulted on their likes and dislikes in terms of food.

Individual bedrooms are comfortable and well maintained and residents are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms. Snacks, fresh fruit and refreshments are available day and night.

Residents wishing to have their hair done can visit the onsite hairdressing facilities. In addition there is a varied programme of activities which includes arts and crafts, gardening and musical events.

Westfield Lodge staff treated my grandmother with the utmost care and ensured that she maintained her dignity right up to her passing. Whilst staff waited for us to arrive, they held her hand so that she knew that she wasn’t alone, which we will forever be in their debt for. The compassion shown, in
the 5 years that my grandmother was a resident, was second to none. The manager really does care and leads her staff by example. We will always be grateful that our nan was also loved by her Westfield family.

My mum has been a resident of Westfield Lodge for the past 5 years, coming to them after a severe stroke which paralysed her and reliant on being peg-fed. Her prognosis was that she would more than likely only survive 12 months.
Over the past 5 years, she has faced many medical challenges which could
very easily have ended her life, but I truly believe that the care and dedication of the staff at Westfield Lodge gave our family those extra years with Mum.
I have lost my mum today but I have also left a family of caring people behind.

My friend was quite a difficult person and all the staff cared for her with tolerance, patience, understanding and with lots of kindness. Whatever she got up to it never phased them. They tried to encourage her to join in with any activities and we were sent photos of her enjoying some of these.

I had viewed other homes locally, and within minutes of visiting Westfield, I knew it was the right place. I moved my uncle from a care home (in London) to be nearer to me/family as his health declined. He spent nine happy months being very well cared for by a great team of hardworking staff. They always
went the extra mile to genuinely care for my uncle, and he quickly settled in and I saw him become less withdrawn and appeared much happier. The staff took time to talk to him as well as have fun with him, which he really enjoyed. During his stay, he felt very much at home, and he obviously enjoyed his time here. Also, the staff put much more effort into getting him up and socialising with others rather than letting him dwell in his room. This daily contact and integration definitely made him more alert and bright than he had been previously. He also enjoyed the home-cooked food and oatcakes. I'm really happy I found Westfield, and they did a great job looking after my uncle - thank you!

Each and every member of staff was exemplary. They showed compassion to my friend at all times and were very patient and kind, even when things were challenging for them. It was a very difficult time in my friend's life but I always felt confident that she was receiving the best possible care and she
was treated with great dignity. Activities were provided but not often taken advantage of by my friend, but that was her choice. I too was always made to feel welcome when I visited and was kept informed about any changes in treatment which were needed.

My mother is a resident of Westfield and is coming up to the end of her first year. Each time I visit I never fail to be impressed with all the staff I encounter, in all areas. Everyone has a great sense of humour and a great simile. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they always provide care with
dignity and respect. My mother thinks the food is excellent but is always apologetic when she cannot finish.
I am so happy that my mother was taken into this home as I cannot visit as often as I would love to but knowing that she is in the hands of an amazing dedicated team, puts my mind at rest.

Mum was a resident of Westfield. All, and I mean all of the staff and management care about each and every resident as though they are their own family. I have no concerns or hesitation about recommending Westfield to anyone. My mum was valued, respected and treated with dignity by everyone.

Our mum was in Westfield Lodge Care Home for four months and throughout her time there she was well cared for. The management team and staff members from the cleaning team right through to the catering and activities coordinator were excellent. They provided a welcoming and supportive environment. The
service provided was efficient and professional but always with our mother's best interests at its centre. Any questions or concerns we had were soon dealt with at what was at times, an emotional or challenging situation for us as a family. We are grateful that we found Westfield Lodge for our mum to live out what became her final months. We would strongly recommend the care home and team.

Outstanding care home! My uncle and his family were always treated with the utmost respect and dignity. First-class experience. He was so loved by all the staff. They nurtured him back to health when we first came to Westfield Lodge Care Home. They encouraged his independence, which he truly wanted
to retain. The last 2 years of his life, he had found his second home and a family of people who worked incredibly hard to support him. Words can't express our eternal gratitude. Perfect!

5 stars are not enough. I cannot put into words what a fabulous home Westfield Lodge is. I cannot ever thank all the staff for their care and support while looking after my Dad, without the fast reaction of the staff Dad would have died sooner but we had extra precious days with him.
The staff are
amazing and feel more like family as they shared our tears, supported us and showed such care and dignity. Not only did they care for my Dad they looked after my Mum too making sure she was fed as she sat with Dad, nothing was too much trouble.
The manager and her team are exceptional in every way their support and compassion at the most desperate time for us will stay in our hearts forever, they are like family and I will be forever grateful that they were there when we needed them the most. Cannot praise the home or staff enough.

Dear Team and Manager -
I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart (and my daughter) for looking after our very close friend and neighbour. She had complex needs (dementia and cancer) and was admitted to you from our choice preference following a 5-week visit in the hospital due to a fall on
or about 9th-10th September 2022. Although very very poorly more recently, has been cared for 24-7 nursing care by some amazing carers and nurses who put Kath’s needs paramount and look after her outstandingly. They have an exemplary outstanding record, of care, support, nursing, understanding, sympathy, empathy and resilience, I have no hesitation in recommending Westfield Lodge to family and friends. You have all been wonderful - just a shame my friend was too poorly to miss out on the entertainment and friends in the home.

My nan only had five days in Westfield Lodge as she was on end-of-life care but I’m so grateful this is where she spent her last five days. She was treated excellently and as a family so were we, I appreciate all the staff for making my nan comfortable.
She passed away so peacefully, just like we wanted.
Also, the aftercare when we were there with my nan while she passed was brilliant.

Although we still can’t even believe we are acknowledging the passing of my nan, it is all still so surreal but our biggest appreciation goes to the staff at Westfield Lodge. From the moment she arrived in their care, they all went above and beyond to ensure my nan’s time and final moments with them
were comfortable, peaceful and loving. From the carers to clerical, domestic, medical, external and managerial staff, my nan felt loved by each individual. She wasn’t just a resident she was a Mum, nana and friend. The staff were extremely attentive to her needs and nothing was too much to ask for. Their acts of gratitude are engrained in the ethos and innate attitudes of the staff and it certainly did not go unnoticed. My nan was at peace, surrounded by love and her family when she passed. Thank you for turning the hardest day of our lives, into a memory that gives us peace and assurance that she was happy in her final moments.

Mum was admitted for end-of-life care. For the short time my mother was in the nursing home, the care and support were excellent. All the management and staff were so kind and compassionate and treated my mum with dignity. I cannot thank them enough.

During the time my aunt spent at Westfield Lodge, she felt safe and cared for. All staff were extremely caring and friendly and provided their care with dignity. Management was always present to provide support and advice. Facilities were excellent, lovely and clean and a light and airy environment.
The food was varied and of good quality. Only praise for the nursing home. Thank you.

My mum sadly passed away last week, she has been a resident at the home for nearly 3 years.
During this time I have found the manager and all the staff to be fantastic, they genuinely care and are highly skilled and experienced.
How they cope on a day-to-day basis is hard to imagine and they were
amazing during the pandemic
I would just like to say thank you from all of us for caring, it means the world to us.

Mum moved into Westfield Lodge Care Home in March 2022 and died in August 2022. She was looked after for the final months of her life with care, compassion, dignity and affection by all of the team. Every member of staff I met was considerate of her needs and likes. They all encouraged and supported
Mum to be as well as possible no matter that her final weeks involved many hospital days. I didn't want Mum to go into a home but, having found Westfield Lodge, I am glad to say that my reservations were unfounded. It is a lovely, well-managed, caring environment that I would recommend to anyone looking to place a loved one.
To the whole team at Westfield I say again - 'thank you'.

I am the Registered Home Manager at Westfield Lodge Care Home and have been a qualified Nurse for 9 years. I have an BSc honours degree in nursing and a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Adults. Since qualifying as a health care professional, I have worked solely in elderly care. I am passionate regarding elderly care and I strive to make a difference in the lives of others which incorporates a person-centered approach.
