My mum was admitted to hospital. When she was discharged she returned to Town Thorns in a far worse condition than when she left. The Town Thorns carers and medical staff were required to nurse mum until she passed away. The care that she received during this time was excellent. I can't thank the staff enough and praise them highly.

My father had to take up residence at very late notice after a period in a home that had been traumatic. Every single member of staff here: management; nursing, carer, cleaner, catering, have been warm, welcoming and patient. My father has now been here 4 months and is so much more settled and happier in spirits. He loves the food and the activities. I cannot praise Town Thorns enough!

I had to place my mum in respite care due to family circumstances and I can honestly say she had a good experience in care setting for the first time. My mum was respected if her choice of music and care staff were kind and genuine towards her care and dignity. Room was clean and tidy on my visits to mum. Mum was always encouraged to join in activities. My only drawback was food as my mother is from ethnic background and I feel that wasn't met. I would definitely use the care home again. Thank you to management and care staff for their kindness in looking after mum.

My auntie was admitted to Town Thorns in early 2025 at the age of 86 suffering from severe malnutrition. After an attempted suicide over 30 years ago, she had a damaged throat and could not eat solid foods at all. She had been in supported accommodation for many years with poor care packages and I had never seen her manage to eat more than yoghurt and custard, even with the support of care staff in the previous homes. The care at Town Thorns has been exceptional. She has gained weight, and at the Christmas meal I went to, the cooks had prepared a full Christmas dinner in a form that she could eat. I have not seen her manage to eat a meal like this in over 20 years! She also has changed from being depressed and anxious into a confident and happy person who engages with the full range of activities provided by the home. Town Thorns has literally transformed her life for the better. Every member of staff was welcoming and friendly and have made her life a happy one. Thank you

From the moment my mother was met at the door, it was clear this home was truly special. Every member of staff knew her by name and treated her with genuine respect, dignity and kindness. The care she received was always gentle, compassionate and person-centred. As my mother's health declined, the level of care and professionalism never faltered. Shew as supported with tenderness and dignity to the end. During this difficult time, that same compassion was extended to me. I was met with empathy, patience and understanding. The staff go above and beyond, not just in their work but in the humanity they show every day. I cannot thank them enough for the care they gave my mother and for the kindness they showed me.

Helpful reception staff who took me to the room of my colleague. As he was having a shower, I was invited to make myself a coffee.

My husband was in Town Thorns from March 6th until he passed away on May 22nd. In that short time, he was looked after so well, everyone played their part in his care from the cleaner, cook, care staff, nursing staff, doctors and office staff. No care home can run efficiently unless all staff work together and Town Thorns do just that. The care and support to my husband and myself and family was excellent from beginning to end.

My dad moved into Town thorns in March 2025 and was a resident until he passed away in may 2025. The care he recieved was absolutely perfect. Every carer and nurse were absolutely exceptional with my dad. He had dementia and alsheimers and other health issues and his needs were always met with such kindness, patience and care. As a family we would highly recommend anyone to put a loved one into town thorns as a resident. We were supported through dads journey completely by all staff they are exceptional. I personally cannot thank you all enough. I know dad was very happy during his time with you so a massive thank you to everyone

My brother is cared for with dignity and compassion. The staff are very professional and always keep me informed regarding my brother's needs. Over the many years he has been at Town Thorns we have never had any concerns, in fact his health and wellbeing have improved. We are very happy with his care.

The hospital staff, including the nurses (where she was previously) could really learn some lessons from the staff at Town Thorns Care Centre. Thank you for your kindness, humour and professionalism, it is appreciated. God bless you all.

Weekends boring, nothing to do. No entertainment. No drinks in reception area, all locked up. No wet room in ensuite room.

My mum has been a resident since before COVID. Town Thorns were one of the first to set up safe and secure working environments to keep everyone well, the staff did an amazing job. Thanks to all of the lovely, caring, attentive staff, Mum continues to enjoy the community, the friendly, family, fun atmosphere at Town Thorns. The residents' needs are met and nothing is too much trouble. They take time to find out what all the residents are interested in, their favourite foods and drinks and offer a wide range of fun and exciting activities. Never a dull moment. Lovely accommodation and roomy day rooms, lots of space and such a lovely rural setting. Wonderful wildlife, nature and planted gardens to relax in and spend time with friends. Always greeted by the friendly, helpful staff. So glad we were recommended Town Thorns for Mum. We were unable to give Mum the level of care that she needed and we are so grateful she really enjoys living life at Town Thorns.

My brother has been a resident for about four months. From the beginning the staff have asked about and listened to my brother's care needs and preferences giving client-led support and providing the best possible care for him. In addition they have supported me and kept me informed of changes to his care needs. The staff are always patient, kind and courteous. The doctor's surgery attached to the care home have also given excellent support. I am so glad we found Town Thorns!

I am very impressed with the care and passion all the staff at Town Thorns have. The activities they have give the residents a lovely time. The food always looks so appetising and plentiful.

The garden, courtyard and communal rooms are all lovely and quite hotel-like. The admin staff and catering staff all appear to be as aware of the residents as any of the care workers. I think the ethos that drives the training and service is commendable.

Thoroughly professional throughout the review period. Medical supervision and intervention of the highest order. Dietary catered for, mental stimulus provided through outings, weekly guest entertainers and in-house activities.
