My mum was at Westfield Lodge for two months on end-of-life care. In this time, I found the manager, who is hands on & leads by example, & all of her staff team friendly, welcoming, professional, energetic, positive, compassionate, committed & dedicated to their jobs. Providing great care for mum, they
were also very supportive towards me & other family member's which we greatly appreciated. They treated mum with respect kindness, patience & dignity and they had a great awareness of how to communicate with her, even when at times she could be difficult & not in the best of moods, they would often have her smiling & laughing again with them. All rooms including social areas were kept very clean. There was a good range of activities & entertainment provided. The food cooked on site by the kitchen staff was excellent and varied. Thank you very much to the manager and all the staff here for providing outstanding care for my mum & a friendly, supportive, caring, homely atmosphere for all.

Comfortable bright bedroom, the food is first class, the activities and entertainment are great and the management and all the
staff care for not only Mum but us as as well. We are treated as family. Westfield is full of fun and laughter which is wonderful to see.

Chesford Grange is a beautiful care home and my mother settled well as soon as she arrived there. It is extremely clean and the food is of a very high standard. Staff are always very pleasant and care for my mother very well. Lots of events are organised and special days are celebrated thoughtfully
by the activities co-ordinator. We are always warmly greeted by the receptionist when we visit.

The staff at Chesford Grange are amazing, from when you walk through the doors the friendly reception ladies make you feel welcome and at home.
Our Dad has been a resident here for just a year now and we can not complain about anything, his care is second to none, he is loved by the staff as if he
were their own, his room is spacious, warm and spotlessly clean and his care needs are met to a very good standard on a daily basis.
The activities and entertainment are brilliant and one staff member in particular makes sure everyone takes part and has a great time.
We couldn't ask for better for our Dad, and for the way all the staff look after us too, keep up the good work you're all amazing
Thank you

My brother has been at Chesford Grange since May 2024.The moment you step in you are greeted by a receptionist who are pleasant & very helpful.I can honestly say he as really settled in.
I visit 3 times a wk even have lunch with him,& I see exactly what goes on, I can't thank the Nurses/ Carers & everyone
else who works there enough. They are absolutely brilliant with him, he may not remember their names but he does their faces. There isn't one person that doesn't treat him with dignity & respect & speak to him whenever they see him,& he enjoys having a laugh with them. The atmosphere is so much more happy & inviting. I'd like to say I've even made some new friends. It's a beautiful home & it's very welcoming So thank you to all.

Dad arrived at Chesford Grange at the end of 2023. I can't thank the carers/nurses enough for all they do. Nobody wants their loved one to have to go into care but I feel so relieved dad is being well looked after. They go above and beyond what is required so that residents feel more at home. There

My husband had dementia and was in end of life care, he was treated with respect and great kindness even when he threw things, they were great with him, and tried to give him the best life he could have in the time he was with them. Their kindness was also extended to me and my family, on his death
they were so good to us and explained what had to happen next. My husband had an aneurysm which burst.

Worst care home ever. Staff tell lies to cover stuff up, had CQC involved multiple times. Rooms are not clean with coffee stains left for weeks. My mum left dirty on numerous occasions very little interaction from care assistants. Management don't want to listen either, never taking onus for their poor
lack of care and lack of ability to be honest and upfront. Avoid at all costs, we don't have a choice to move mum now with her dementia but you have a choice where your relatives are treated with compassion and care, this is not the place.
Reply from Trish McCaffrey, Home Manager at Chesford Grange Care Home

As the new Manager here at Chesford Grange, I offer you my sincere apologies for the experience you describe. Whilst I cannot change the past, I can make a difference today and offer assurances about tomorrow and the weeks ahead in terms of ensuring that we work together to provide the best care for your mum in a clean and comfortable environment. I know from speaking with you yesterday that you are willing to give me the opportunity to address any outstanding issues and for that I am genuinely grateful.

Since my mum has been a resident at Westfield Lodge Care Home her quality of life has immensely improved! I feel this is down to all the staff including the amazing manager, office staff, nursing staff, the actual care staff, activity staff, cleaning, housekeeping staff and the quality of food is 'outstanding'
due to all the kitchen staff, the maintenance guy is always on hand. All of these wonderful people have made me and my family a part of the Westfield family, which has made a great home for my mum's continuing care and put a huge smile on her face - A huge thank you to all.

When our mum could no longer safely live on her own at home looking for a suitable care was a minefield, we finally settled on Westfield Lodge as we agreed that this seemed the one. We couldn't be more happier with the care that our mum receives 24/7, we can relax when not with her as we know that she's
getting all the care and attention that she needs. As well as being excellent carers for the residents they have also become our friends who we visit just as much as our mum. Westfield don't just provide care but they also keep the residents and families entertained on visits everyday, with the resident activity coordinator providing fun, games and booking visiting singers and entertainers etc. We couldn't have wished for a better place to call home for our mum who has gained more friends than ever and we have to. No one wants to see their family members go into a nursing home but Westfield Lodge makes it all that much easier. The staff at Westfield lodge are worth their weight in gold.
