The care that my dad received was excellent he was treated with care and compassion at all times,I never felt concern at leaving my dad after visiting as I felt confident in the staff at the home.On each visit my dad was dressed as he would wish and it was apparent that he had been assisted with his
personal needs. The standard and choice of food was excellent and well cooked and presented, cleanliness was extremely good throughout the home.
Sadly my dad died whilst at the home but the end of life care he received was exceptional both for my dad and for us as we always felt included in his care and were made to feel welcome no matter what time we visited
Reply from Trish McCaffrey, Home Manager at Chesford Grange Care HomeThank you so very much for taking the time to write a review, especially as you had already expressed your gratitude in a heartfelt 'thank you' card and the beautiful flowers that are still being admired and enjoyed everyday by all that pass through reception. Not only is it so important that the staff know that the care they provide makes a positive difference but also for anyone looking to place a loved one here at Chesford Grange, it gives them invaluable insight. The staff still speak of your dad fondly and especially in relation to his debonair appearance and gentlemanly conduct. Although our paths crossed but briefly in comparison to the lifetime you have spent with your dad, our loss weighs heavy as we say goodbye to someone we became fond of and of course this includes you as his family who have been so supportive and insightful.

Could not have asked for better care for my dad during the last two years of his life. Staff were approachable, kind and caring throughout the home. All queries and any issues we had were dealt with a considerate and fair manner, with my dad's health and safety their first and foremost concern. Management
were always professional and courteous to me and my family and dad was always treated with respect and dignity.

My mum is a current resident of Westfield Lodge, when she arrived at Westfield from hospital we had been told that she was bedbound and would not improve, she has been there since March 2024 and through the care and help of the staff she enjoys all the home as to offer and she is now able to walk using
a frame short distances and loves singing and dancing with the staff. The care and compassion shown by all the staff is amazing and I say to anyone that will listen that Westfield Lodge is the standard for what all care homes should be.

When choosing a care home for my nan to spend the rest of her life in I was nervous wanting to do right by her as she could no longer live by herself, I went to view Westfield lodge and I felt like I'd hit the jackpot! The people are lovely the decor is fantastic it's a real home from home feel. The
food always looks amazing nan always comments on how lovely her dinners are. The carers really do care and do their best by Nan, even when Nan is in one of challenging moods they persevere with her which is reassuring for us.
There's activities on every day during the week and the residents all love it Nan joins in when she feels like it and they're always laughing and smiling, it's very reassuring.

Dad is really settled here, and I'm so happy in every respect at this point in time. Everyone shows such dedication to their job role. I feel so welcome each time I'm there, and to see the staff how they are with dad is so lovely for me to witness. Dad's every need is taken care of by all who work there.
Thank you all for being who you are, you're a fantastic team full of care and understanding.
Reply from Trish McCaffrey, Home Manager at Chesford Grange Care HomeI think its fair to say that all staff would consider it a pleasure to care for your dad who is a perfect gentleman. I am pleased that you are happy thus far with the service provided at Chesford Grange. You mention that you feel so welcome when visiting which is really good to hear because all staff from reception through to housekeeping and everyone in-between strives to do their best to create a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the home. I am very proud of the team not just because they work hard but also because they are dedicated to the residents that they genuinely care about and want to do their best for. Mum went into Chesford only 6 months ago and in that short time I can honestly say that the care has been second to none. The management and all staff are very friendly, helpful, caring, compassionate and dedicated to the residents.
Sadly mum passed away this week and the end of life care is on another
level.
My mum would be so pleased to have ended her life in the very dignified way that the whole team made happen.
If you are thinking of a loved one going into Chesford, then mark my words it will be the best decision you ever made for them.
Reply from Trish McCaffrey, Home Manager at Chesford Grange Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback about how we cared for your mum, especially at what must be an emotional time for you and your family. From day one I believe we have worked together to do the very best for your mum who was a pleasure to care for and who is missed especially by those who sat with her during the last days of her life. It is so uplifting for the staff to receive such positive feedback and that in itself enables them to continue to care for the residents living at Chesford Grange in the knowledge that they are appreciated. Thank you for putting your trust in us to care for your mum; your patience, understanding and support made a huge difference. Our best wishes go to you and your family as you start the next chapter with all of the great memories of your mum that you have built up over the years and in the knowledge that she left this world knowing that she was valued, loved and cared for.

Myself, my dad and my brother cannot praise the staff enough for the care mum receives at Chesford Grange. Nothing and I mean nothing is too much trouble. All of the staff are so friendly including management, domestic staff and activity staff. The rooms are lovely and exceptionally clean and the food
is excellent. I haven't seen mum since she was admitted here in Sept as I live away but I am thrilled at the change in her. She has put weight on and is getting back to her old self. Thank you so much!

my mum moved into chesford grange in sept 2025 all i can say is that the staff from the manger/deputy are absolutley fantastic nothing is to much trouble for any of the staff. They certainly put my mind at ease. The manager and deputy are very approachable with an open door policy which is fab.the care
staff are brilliant looking after the residents with nothing but respect and dignity and are very chatty with visitors which i find great nothing is to much trouble for them. I really should not of worried moving my mum into chesford grange as she seems so content and is flourishing which is lovely to see.The home is spotless which is down to all including domestics and care staff.Mums bedroom is spacious and also spotless.Laundry staff also go above and beyond and the Hairdresser also does a great job with mum's hair.I can not find any fault with the home so glad i didn't take on board the cqc report and went with my own feelings when i went to look around its the best
Reply from Trish McCaffrey, Home Manager at Chesford Grange Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of Chesford Grange with us; it certainly brought joyful tears to our eyes when we read it. Your mum is an absolute pleasure to care for and does seem to have settled in very well. Working in partnership with residents and their loved ones is definitely the key to success in terms of delivering good care. I have to say that you have been supportive of us from day one. The staff have mentioned that you always thank them on every visit for what they do for your mum and I know this because you always thank me too each time we meet. This has such a powerful impact on us all and it reminded me of the duty of care I have to my staff team as well as the Residents in my care. Since meeting you I have been inspired to show my gratitude to staff more openly and frequently and I am grateful to you for reminding me of the importance of this.

My mum was at Westfield Lodge for two months on end-of-life care. In this time, I found the manager, who is hands on & leads by example, & all of her staff team friendly, welcoming, professional, energetic, positive, compassionate, committed & dedicated to their jobs. Providing great care for mum, they
were also very supportive towards me & other family member's which we greatly appreciated. They treated mum with respect kindness, patience & dignity and they had a great awareness of how to communicate with her, even when at times she could be difficult & not in the best of moods, they would often have her smiling & laughing again with them. All rooms including social areas were kept very clean. There was a good range of activities & entertainment provided. The food cooked on site by the kitchen staff was excellent and varied. Thank you very much to the manager and all the staff here for providing outstanding care for my mum & a friendly, supportive, caring, homely atmosphere for all.
