Having looked at other nursing homes for suitability for my mother's care, Hillcrest Manor stood out as clean, friendly and well run. I decided, after a visit to look at the facilities offered, to move my mother to Hillcrest Manor. The staff have always been extremely friendly but professional. Any queries were dealt with immediately. My daughter works in the NHS and visits nursing/care homes as part of her work as a nurse. She visited with me, and her comments were that she has never been in a cleaner nursing/care home. She was impressed. Well done! The activities for the residents are wonderful too.

My father moved into Hillcrest Manor this month.
Dad is very happy here. All the staff are very helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. They are all kind and caring.

Also, as a family, they make us all very welcome and explain everything to us with Dad's care.

I have nothing but praise for the care and love that all the staff at Hillcrest showed to my mum. Not only were they lovely with mum, but the nurses were always there for me too when I found dealing with dementia too much to bear. A fair few times I ended up crying in their office while they listened with understanding and no judgement at all. In fact, all the staff had taken time to get to know mum well and were kindness personified, particularly in the last few difficult weeks. She passed in her own, beautiful room with French doors looking out over the gardens and on to the impressive Shropshire hills beyond. Quite simply, I could have wished for nothing more.

Thank you so much for such a lovely review. Your mum was a wonderful lady who was a pleasure to know, and we miss her hugely. I am so pleased everything worked out and you were able to feel supported by the staff - we aim to help residents and families in any way we can. Thank you again.

A very positive experience every day - from cheerful and helpful receptionists to friendly and informed staff who have made a great effort to ensure my husband's health and social needs are met. His room is pleasant and well equipped, and he looks forward to nicely served food.

Social areas are attractively decorated and arranged, and used for an interesting range of activities. I only wish he didn't need to be here!

After a journey on an awful country road, the pure delight when you see Hillcrest in its own surroundings is a complete joy. The manor oozes joy straight away from the moment you walk through the door. The home is absolutely superb, with staff to match.

I will be 85 in October and have told my family that if I have to go in a home, Hillcrest is for me. Superb, well done.

I am extremely pleased with the kindness with which my two friends are looked after. There as so many activities that they can join in with when they want to. It is expensive, as all care homes are, but I can't think of anything that needs improving.

All of the staff are warm and friendly. Both to residents and family. Nothing is too much trouble. Having been through a journey of stress and encountering indifferent attitudes, the staff at Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home have shown empathy and real care. Always keen to answer questions and if they are not sure they will find out. Dad is treated with dignity and respect.

My beloved wife has been a resident of Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home for some months now and I feel it is time for me to express my deep gratitude for all the wonderful care and support she has received. Her dementia is fairly advanced now and I cannot fault the level of care and attention all the staff provide for her. They are friendly and approachable and always so willing to answer my concerns or just talk about how she is. Nothing seems too much trouble and there is always time for them to do their best and show kindness in meeting her needs. I always feel welcome when visiting and am always offered to share a meal if I am there at lunchtime. It does feel like everyone is happy to be part of the team and always do their best under the excellent leadership.

I am writing this to express my deepest gratitude to all of the staff for the love and care they have given my partner over the last five years and for the kindness and support they have always shown to me.
At the onset of COVID-19, I was fortunate in being permitted to become a volunteer so that I was able to continue being with her daily and remained in that role for two and a half years. For that privilege, I will be eternally grateful.
Because of that close contact, I can attest to the extremely high standards that are achieved in all aspects of the care provided and the wonderful atmosphere and staff interaction with residents now so dominant in the Nursing Home.

Thank you all.

After my husband who had dementia died in Hillcrest Manor (his death was handled with kindness and sensitivity) I realised what an enormous support the staff had been for me and I really missed seeing them all and visiting the home. I have just returned four months on and feel overwhelmed by the welcome I received from the staff and their kindness. Hillcrest was an excellent choice for the last 10 months of my husband's life.

This is a wonderful nursing home!!! I booked my partner here for respite in October 2024 and it was such a positive experience for both of us. I had a rest knowing that he'd be in totally safe and professional hands and he was able to experience kindness and care in a beautiful setting. He has PD and Dementia and they were able to meet all his needs whilst nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended!!

My mother has been a resident since June this year. She has settled in better than I dared hope, she appears calmer and more at ease. She likes the staff, who treat her with respect and dignity and seems to enjoy the numerous activities that are provided. I would highly recommend if anyone needs somewhere for a loved one, that they look at this home.
