Visit from hairdresser. Not only does mum enjoy the hairdresser experience but it is lovely to see all residents with a smile because their hair looks gorgeous. By 'going to the hairdresser' it allows mum to have the hands on therapy of normal everyday life. Mum happily chats to the hairdresser-just
like she used to. This is a really valuable session for all. Thank you.

My Nan has been in Willow Bank for just over a year and wow the staff are just amazing they get to know the residents so well and no what there needs are. If we the family members have an issues regarding my Nans care they are quick to sort it if they can't sort it there and then it will get sorted
you can count on that. The entertainment is fantastic I know for sure when we are there Nan definitely enjoys it but so do we lol

The Snacks and pastries are Amazing Nan absolutely loves them they even offer us tea coffee and biscuits. I've been lucky enough to taste a little bit of the food they get Let me tell you it taste and smells delicious and they have choices to what they can have also and they cater for everybody needs. The kitchen staff are amazing, as are all the staff. Each and everyone plays a role in making Willow Bank just great. Also the hairdresser is amazing she works so well with the residents and has such patience with them all

Mum has lived at Willowbank for nearly 5 years and has been supported by amazing staff throughout her journey. Dad passed away nearly 3 years ago but he was happy knowing that mum was well taken care of. Staff are always very welcoming whether it's a visit in person or my regular 2/3 days phone call
to check on mum as I promised dad that I would

Our mum, who has early-onset Alzheimer's, came here for a two-week respite stay in August. At just 62, it was a daunting transition for her and for us daughters. During those two weeks, we realized her condition had progressed to a point where we could no longer provide the care she needed, as such
we made the decision for her to stay. The care home was incredible during this time, helping both Mum and our family navigate the transition with so much patience and empathy. Since moving in, Mum has been so well looked after, more than we could have ever asked for. We want to give a particular shoutout to the management team, the team leaders, and the nursing staff who have been involved in her daily life. While we can't name individuals here, the team members we've worked most closely with have been real superheroes. Every member of the staff is consistently helpful, kind, and compassionate. We feel so much peace knowing Mum is in such safe, caring hands. Thank you all.

My husband has been a permanent resident for 8 months. He is extremely well cared for by the whole team. He is encouraged to join in activities and enjoys some of the amazing entertainment. He's never left unsupervised always kind carers are there to help and support his needs. The meals are excellent
and nutritious he eats well with menus printed daily on a cork board for loved ones to see. Care reviews of him are regularly done and I'm kept in touch regarding all of this. It's a happy place and after visits I leave and return home never feeling any concerns about him. The staff are fantastic, so kind and understanding. and I know I can come home without any worries knowing if there was a concern I would be contacted. My husband is always treated with great respect.

The staff are lovely and caring towards the residents, staff and visitors. There is some good entertainment vison for the residents.. My husband took part in a cognitive stimulation course which he enjoys. The food is fresh and delicious. We had our 3 month review and we pointed out some of our concerns
which have been addressed. It took a while for him and me to adjust, but I think he is settled. I am grateful for the care that he is receiving at Willow Bank.

My mother stayed at Willow Bank from November 2025 until early January 2026. This was a respite placement as my mother is living with dementia.
My mother had previously had a difficult respite placement so was unsettled when she arrived at Willow Bank and the family's confidence in respite care was
at a low ebb.
Quickly the quality of care provided at Willow Bank reassured the family and my mother settled well. I found the staff and the management of the care home to be kind, caring, responsive and expert in providing care to people with dementia which was just what we and my mother needed.
Staff at Willow Bank supported us and my mother with her transition into her new permanent home.

My mum went in for a short stay but stayed. She stayed because they are very caring towards my mum so much she calls it home. There is humour and entertainment which is important so important. Her dementia is really taking over now but I know she will be cared for through her journey. When I visit
the staff are always there to update me and acknowledge and discuss anything to do with mum.
I can relax knowing my mum is in safe hands.
Thank you everyone

We, the family and the husband of Halcyon, were very pleased with the professional care given to our dear mother. She was well looked after and helped to keep her dignity within the realms of her creeping dementia. We were impressed with her private room complete with en-suite bathroom and sitting chair
with a window overlooking the garden. Every time we visited we were treated well and my elderly father given help to be able to sit with Halcyon. The place was tidy and mostly clean given the difficult circumstances. We thank you and the staff for looking after and caring for our mother

I want to express my thanks to the Willow Bank staff for the excellent care that my partner received during his residence there from January 2024 to January 2025.

I was impressed by Willow Bank the first time I went there. It is clean, spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. There are several

different rooms available to the residents. On the ground floor there are two large sitting rooms, a pleasant television room and a dining room which is also used for other activities and events. There are activities and a variety of events every day including music, singing, dancing, exercise, skittles, quizzes, animals to pet - the list goes on!

Primarily, of course, it was the staff that made Willow Bank such a good second home for my partner who was suffering from vascular dementia. They treated the residents in such a normal and relaxed way, coping calmly and cheerfully at all times. I was so impressed. I know he was happy there. Thank you Willow Bank.

the activities they put on to the care they give. I highly recommend.

My mother is a long term resident (5 years this February) at Willowbank. She has vascular dementia and her condition has progressed as would be expected. What has been consistent over this time is the kind, respectful and caring support she has received from all Willowbank carers and ancillary staff.
Within a secure environment, residents are given as much freedom as is possible to move around the home and to make their own choices. There is a regular programme of activities within the main lounge and there always seems to be something entertaining happening on my weekly visits to Mum. Family engagement is always encouraged and managers and staff make themselves available for any questions and regular review meetings. The home is bright and cheerful and well maintained. Most importantly the home has as its backbone a really dedicated Manager, Deputy, Head of Care and Team Leaders who have my respect.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.884)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.884) out of 10 for Willow Bank House Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.884 for Willow Bank House Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (283 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 320 Ratings = 4.884
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willow Bank House Residential Home is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
