Reviews

7.9 Willow Bank House Residential Home has a Review Score of 7.9 (7.871)

The Review Score of 7.9 (maximum of 10) for Willow Bank House Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 4 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Willow Bank House Residential Home in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.792 for Willow Bank House Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (39 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.792

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 3.079 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willow Bank House Residential Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 = 3

    2. Target of 12.6 positive Reviews (63 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 1 Reviews ÷ 12.6 Target = 0.079

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

I would without reservation recommend Willow Bank Care Home. Their understanding of dementia care is second to none. All staff are kind, patient and very understanding of their residents be it a good day or bad day for the individual resident. Staff are very approachable, helpful and became friends to me during my many visits to a close family member. I was always made welcome on my visits and got to know other residents there so it was like having a second family.
Staff at Willow Bank Care Home work hard and are obviously dedicated to their work.

Laundry services are excellent and rooms are cleaned daily. Residents are free to choose their daily attire and also whether or not to join in activities, there is no pressure for them to gather in the same room. All staff made the effort to hold conversations with the residents and again this reinforced the kindness I saw during my visits.

I would like to thank all staff at Willow Bank Care home for the love and care they give.

My mother has been lived at Willow Bank for nearly a year now and the difference in my mother is amazing. She feels secure and happy at Willow Bank and loves all the staff. I feel so grateful to all the staff for making it such a warm, happy place. Lots of activities to engage the residents, wonderful 'themed' days with all the residents participating and having great fun, from a Seaside Day to Ascot day.
Wonderful food and spotlessly clean rooms. Staff always have time to talk to you and answer any questions you may have. If you are thinking of bringing a loved one to Willow Bank but aren't sure just go and sit and watch. The level of care is amazing and you can tell the staff really do care. Thank you all at Willow Bank.

My mother has been in Willowbank since May 2015. She seems to have settled extremely well and seems very happy. All the staff are very helpful and courteous, they are all kind and considerate to the residents. Her bedroom is always spotless as is her bathroom. It is a nice touch that they can have their own furniture from home if they desire. Tea, coffee and biscuits are always available to the residents whenever they ask for them. Residents are encouraged to take part in the many and varied daily activities, also relatives are kept up to-date with a monthly newsletter which lists any special events that may be on that month. A particular favorite of the residents are the cats who live at the home which they all love to stroke.
