Review of Willow Bank House Residential Home from David Raymond P (Husband of Resident) published on 9 September 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Since my wife entered Willow Bank at the beginning of February 2026 I have nothing but praise for the professionalism and dedication shown by all the staff at the Home. From the manager down to the cleaning, maintenance and administrative staff I have found nothing but the highest level of support.
The staff have been incredibly helpful in all aspects of looking after the individual needs of each person suffering from this life changing illness. They all have the nursing skills and attributes which make the individuals stay as comforting, comfortable and homely as is humanly possible.
I am certainly grateful that I chose Willow Bank initially for some respite care for myself.

At the end of this respite care period I immediately arranged for my wife to stay permanently. I am most grateful that I have found a home from home for her

Review of Mulberry House Residential Home from L M (Wife of Resident) published on 8 September 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

I have used a number of homes for respite for my husband. This was by far the best and I would recommend it to anyone. The care and respect my husband received, as well as the friendliness of the staff was wonderful. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble and the staff went over and above to make my husband welcome. I will certainly be taking my husband back for another break.

WB near Pershore held an August party/fete. It was well organised and so much fun. Staff were friendly and helpful. At one point they were throwing sponges at one another and doing the tongo round the tables! The drinks flowed and there was hot dogs/burgers for everyone.

My husband is now settled in the home and that is thanks to the staff for their outstanding love, kindness and respect. I will always be grateful to them

Review of The Orchards Residential Home from Jayne D (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum was discharged from hospital and transferred to the Orchards for a six week assessment in March this year, due to on going health problems and dementia. It was a really difficult time for us as a family. We were immediately greeted by the manager and members of the team on arrival. They were very welcoming and we found all the staff friendly and professional and immediately put mum at ease.
Mum has settled, now requiring full time care and all the staff at the home have come to know her very well and understand her needs and she calls them her friends.

As a retired nurse and having visited many care homes whilst working for social services I can honestly say that all the members of the team really care and although initially I wanted mum to move to a care home closer to me, she has settled and they have become like family I wouldn't want to move her . I have always been made welcome when visiting mum and the support I have had has been amazing.

Review of The Firs Residential Home from Mike A (Son of Resident) published on 19 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum has been resident in The Firs for about two years - since her dementia rendered her unable to live safely alone. Her incremental decline has been hard to watch - but staff do everything they can to take care of her with dignity and to provide activities to enable her to continue enjoying a meaningful life.
I particularly like the way pictures of resident's activities are uploaded to social media every day - enabling me to see Mum's smile as she partakes, even if she has absolutely no memory of it when I visit her later.

In my opinion this is a first class home - and I'm very pleased Mum is here rather than anywhere else. Please keep up the good work!

Review of The Orchards Residential Home from Jane F (Sister-in-law of Resident) published on 14 August 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

On a recent visit to see my brother-in-law who has very poor appetite.
It was a comfort to me to see the care staff encouraging him and helping him to eat when he needed it.
They all treat him in a kind, friendly and dignified manner and try to involve him in any Activities taking place.

Although his memory is not too good, he does not have Dementia and therefore it is good to know he has some stimulation each day.

Review of Hartwell Lodge Care Home from P H (Daughter of Resident) published on 23 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mum is bed bound with advance dementia receiving palliative care nearing end of life.. she is reliant on staff to do her personal care and feed her. She has limited communication skills now. Mum is clean . Her nightdress and bedclothes are changed regularly .Her bedroom is clean and tidy.
Since February there has been a big staff changes. Sadly, they don't know mum or us, her family and it's not always easy to find someone to have informal chats with. There have been issues but Requests I have made have been addressed.

The home has a different feel now.

Review of Inglefield Nursing & Residential Home from Jon D (Son of Resident) published on 14 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Inglefields has been an exemplary home for my father. I brought my mother and father over to the Island 2 years ago so we could look after them better here, rather than in Surrey. Unfortunately my father, who suffered with Dementia before he came over, contracted a UTI which exasperated his Dementia and it was clear he needed full time care. Inglefields were so very empathetic to our needs both for my father and my mother, both in their mid 90's, my father unfortunately has deteriorated over the past year and I have to say Inglefields have looked after him brilliantly. They have kept me informed of developments and he is being looked after so well given the situation. He's a lovely man but does present problems, uncharacteristic of his former self and presents significant challenges in his ongoing care needs. As far as I'm concerned Inglfield represents the very best care with dedicated staff and management and I would have no problem in recommending this facility.

Reply from Charlotte Willis, Manager at Inglefield Nursing & Residential Home

Thank you so much for your kind words, we understand how incredibly challenging it is to watch a parent navigate the advanced stages of dementia, and we know how much love and thought went into bringing your parents to the Island to be closer to you. It is our privilege to care for your father here...

Review of The Firs Residential Home from Andrew D (Grandson of Resident) published on 13 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Firs is a lovely care home. The staff are universally polite, friendly, kind and easy to communicate with.
On arrival Nan was met with staff and her favourite music. A word search book in her room was a thoughtful touch.
The manager holds high standards and is keen to improve training for all. The home is bright clean and well maintained with they have a personable dedicated maintenance man. The gardens are kept well with there is recently an enthusiastic hard working Gardner.
The food is exceptional, freshly cooked with a focus on lunchtime offerings. The food is varied and of high nutritional value - sadly Nan couldn't make the most of it but I often wanted to eat it myself.
The activities are broad ranging and accessible for all. Nan enjoyed the armchair exercises when she was able to and we enjoyed the bingo and the cake!
Most importantly Nan has been treated with respect and encouraged with her activities of daily living.

I would not hesitate to recommend firs care home
