Inglefield Nursing & Residential Home

from Jon D (Son of Resident) published on 14 July 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Inglefields has been an exemplary home for my father. I brought my mother and father over to the Island 2 years ago so we could look after them better here, rather than in Surrey. Unfortunately my father, who suffered with Dementia before he came over, contracted a UTI which exasperated his Dementia
and it was clear he needed full time care. Inglefields were so very empathetic to our needs both for my father and my mother, both in their mid 90's, my father unfortunately has deteriorated over the past year and I have to say Inglefields have looked after him brilliantly. They have kept me informed of developments and he is being looked after so well given the situation. He's a lovely man but does present problems, uncharacteristic of his former self and presents significant challenges in his ongoing care needs. As far as I'm concerned Inglfield represents the very best care with dedicated staff and management and I would have no problem in recommending this facility.
Reply from Charlotte Willis, Manager at Inglefield Nursing & Residential HomeThank you so much for your kind words, we understand how incredibly challenging it is to watch a parent navigate the advanced stages of dementia, and we know how much love and thought went into bringing your parents to the Island to be closer to you. It is our privilege to care for your father here at Inglefield. I will be sure to share your wonderful words with our team. Thank you again for your trust and your kind recommendation.

The Firs Residential Home

from Andrew D (Grandson of Resident) published on 13 July 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Firs is a lovely care home. The staff are universally polite, friendly, kind and easy to communicate with.
On arrival Nan was met with staff and her favourite music. A word search book in her room was a thoughtful touch.
The manager holds high standards and is keen to improve training for all. The
home is bright clean and well maintained with they have a personable dedicated maintenance man. The gardens are kept well with there is recently an enthusiastic hard working Gardner.
The food is exceptional, freshly cooked with a focus on lunchtime offerings. The food is varied and of high nutritional value - sadly Nan couldn't make the most of it but I often wanted to eat it myself.
The activities are broad ranging and accessible for all. Nan enjoyed the armchair exercises when she was able to and we enjoyed the bingo and the cake!
Most importantly Nan has been treated with respect and encouraged with her activities of daily living.
I would not hesitate to recommend firs care home
Reply from Emma Breslan, Manager at The Firs Residential HomeThank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and heartfelt review.
Your kind words mean a great deal to our whole team.
It was truly an honour and a privilege to care for your Nan. We are so pleased that she felt welcomed from the moment she arrived, and that the little personal touches, activities, gardens, and freshly prepared meals helped make her stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
It has been a genuine privilege to have your Nan as part of The Firs family.

The staff at Kingland House give lots of encouragement to my wife to join in the activities. She is inclined to stay in bed and gets fed up if left to her own devices. But with the help of the staff, who were tempting her to participate, her mood has much improved. When appropriate, the staff let me
be involved with games or a quiz, which makes visiting more pleasurable for both of us. Quite often,I am offered a cup of tea and a cake, which is always welcome.

The care mum has received has been truly marvellous. Every member of staff has shown genuine kindness, patience and understanding, and they take the time to get to know her as a person. The activities programme is immense, varied, engaging and thoughtfully planned - and it has made a remarkable difference
to her well-being. We feel very grateful for the support she receives.

My husband has been at Woodland Court for almost a year now and has settled in very well. He is as happy as can be expected living away from his own home and gets on well with the staff who are all very kind and supportive of both him and myself. I visit everyday along with several other relatives and
am always greeted with a welcome from the staff. The manager is very approachable. She holds a meeting with relatives every other Tuesday when she updates us with what is happening in the home and we can discuss any concerns or ideas for improvements with her. Or you can talk to her privately at anytime. She always listens and does her best to address your requests. Am I pleased with the care my husband gets at Woodland Court, Most definitely
