Tucked away in a quiet residential area just half a mile from Fareham town centre, Hartwell Lodge offers a peaceful place to call home. The home provides a full range of care – including residential, dementia, palliative, respite, and day care – all under one roof, with compassion at its core.

Hartwell Lodge is often described as feeling like one big family – a sense of connection that’s reflected in daily life throughout the home.

Each bedroom is individually decorated and features its own en-suite, providing both comfort and privacy. Hartwell Lodge is a lovely home from home. All the staff are very friendly and caring . The home is professionally run by the management and admin teams. The catering staff serve good quality home made food which is always varied. As a family we are very happy with my dad's care.

My brother is receiving excellent care here. The staff are ever present, warm and friendly and his every need is attended to.


He went on an outing recently which he thoroughly enjoyed.Having poor eyesight and hearing, he is not always able to

fully participate in the wide range of activities on offer though the staff kindly always try to include him.

We came to look around Hartwell Lodge for my dad, in February this year.
We were welcomed by the manager of the home. She showed us round the home and was very friendly and put us at ease straight away. This was one of the hardest decisions we have had to make.
To put a parent into a home is
very difficult.
She helped us through this and came to visit dad at his Bungalow.
When we arrived with dad, for him to stay at the home, he was greeted with warmth and compassion.
The care that dad received whilst living at Hartwell lodge, was amazing. Each and every staff member made dad feel so special. They met all of dad's needs, with confidence, kindness and genuine feelings.
All the staff went above and beyond to make dad comfortable. They also made the family welcome and comfortable. Again nothing was too much trouble.
I would highly recommend Hartwell lodge to anyone that is looking for a care home for their loved one.

Since grandad has been at Hartwell lodge he has been treated with so much dignity and respect. We are able to relax knowing grandad is in such caring hands and knowing he is having the best care. He has loved being at Hartwell and the staff are so lovely and supportive. I would recommend Hartwell lodge
over anywhere. The staff are so friendly and the Manager is always there when you need to speak to her and answers any questions. The manager is so knowledgeable on everything we have asked her.

We couldn't be more impressed with the care and support my father-in-law receives at Hartwell Lodge. Hartwell is certainly a home-from-home. The staff are wonderful and very caring and always respectful. There is always a lovely atmosphere in the home and nothing is too much trouble. The care is outstanding and the manager very professional and understanding. The other residents are always friendly
and the range of activities seems to add to the joy in the home. He has settled in well and we are delighted that he is in such capable hands as looking after him at home had become impossible. Hartwell Lodge is an outstanding care home, and the staff and management are wonderful. My grandmother spent the last three months of her life there and they treated her with great care, dignity and respect. She had complicated medical conditions but they were always able to support her as required
right until the end of her life. There is always a nice atmosphere, with fun and creative activities for residents and relatives alike. We were always offered a warm welcome and cup of tea from the staff whenever we visited, and there are plenty of spaces so we could either get involved in activities or spend some quality time alone. Hartwell Lodge was always immaculately clean and tidy throughout. We always felt like our grandmother was in safe hands and it was such a relief to find Hartwell Lodge. A big thank you to the whole team for your kindness and dedication.

We chose Hartwell because of its homely atmosphere. Although Auntie has only been in respite a few weeks and still settling in, all the staff, without exception, have been friendly, kind, caring, polite, and patient. The food looks delicious and Auntie enjoys her meals. The range of activities is both

We were so pleased that we managed to get Mum into Hartwell Lodge as we had to move her down here from Scotland it was such a sad time as our dad passed away and he was her carer, most of the family lived down and around Fareham and mum and dad did before they moved to Scotland 20 years ago and she
is very happy here and has found new friends to chat with, all the staff are very friendly and helpful and caring towards her and we can see a difference in her health since she's been here as well, all the staff take good care of her and they've always got activities for them to join in with if they want to.

When I was looking for a care home for my mother and first visited Hartwell lodge I knew straight away that this was the home I wanted for Mum. It stood out as excellent and so much better than the other homes I had seen and the atmosphere at the home was so friendly and welcoming.
The bedrooms and
all the shared living facilities are beautifully decorated, clean and tidy. All the staff are so friendly and passionate about the job they do, nothing is too much trouble for them and they go out of their way to make sure every resident is well cared for.

Hartwell Lodge is like an extended family my mum has been there for almost five weeks.
We had a very traumatic start to the year followed by several months of worry and stress with Mum being pushed from pillar to post and then we found Hartwell.
The manager is amazing, knowledgeable, kind, compassionate
and so understanding. Immediately ‘taking charge’ and guiding us to get Mum to her happy place. The road was bumpy at first but has got smoother week by week and we can now relax and start to step back knowing that Mum is safe, cared for and happy. Thank you.

I couldn't ask for better care for my mum. They make everyone feel part of a big family. The care and compassion is second to none.

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2017

Jennifer is very passionate about her role as Manager and has a vast knowledge of the care sector. With several CQC inspections under her belt she is very well equipped to ensure the service is offering high quality care as well as meeting requirements. She prides herself on being caring both personally and professionally and she feels that combining the two helps her to empathise and have positive relationships with residents and their loved ones. She is proud to have been named an "exemplar" manager by our CQC inspector. Jenny has made Merry Hall a home from home for all the team and is grateful to be a member of Buckland Care's Merry Hall family.
