Set beside the beautiful Robinswood Hill Country Park, Brunswick House is a welcoming 1940s mock Tudor home offering tailored care and heartfelt support. Whether you're looking for residential, nursing, dementia, respite, day or palliative care, the experienced team is here to make every day that little bit easier – and a lot more joyful.

Care needs may change over time. That’s why Brunswick House offers both residential and nursing care, meaning residents can continue to live in the same familiar surroundings even as their needs evolve, with no disruption or need to move elsewhere.

Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, many with en-suite facilities, and the home has plenty of shared spaces to enjoy – including two lounges, a bright and airy conservatory, and a peaceful courtyard and garden that’s perfect for sunny afternoons or catch-ups with family.

There’s always something going on – from visits to local animal sanctuaries and interactive storytelling sessions, to themed afternoons and gardening clubs. Every activity is optional and thoughtfully planned to suit different tastes and abilities.

Mealtimes are another highlight, with freshly prepared dishes cooked on-site each day by the talented in-house chef. Menus are shaped around residents’ preferences and dietary needs – because good food and good care go hand in hand.

Brunswick House is more than a care home. It’s a place where people feel known, valued, and genuinely cared for.

I have no complaints about my mothers care. She always looks as best as she can for the situation she is in. The sheets are done everyday which I'm glad about and they really do their best they can for her. I'm very glad I chose Brunswick over again, as it offers choices. The staff need medals on some
of the cases they have to look after. Just hope the staff are rewarded as well!!

Mum has been in Brunswick House for 16 months now. She took a little while to settle in, which is only to be expected, but now she is very happy & well cared for. She gets on well with the staff and still likes a little bit of banter. The is not a high turnover of staff which is brilliant because the
residents get to build relationships. Mum now says she doesn't want to be anywhere else. Im also kept well informed.

The staff have been excellent in Mum's care. The last manager we had was superb and made great improvements. I cannot comment on the new manager as she only recently started her role. (They could email clients families telling them about their experience!) Change of some staff is quick but those who
have been there long term are great. The facilities are limited due to the type of building but they are upgrading continually.

I cannot thank Brunswick House enough for the care my dad received. During the final stages of dad's life, they looked after him so well, made him comfortable and maintained his dignity. They also looked after our family with tea, cake, sandwiches so we could be by his side, so tremendously kind and
compassionate. What a wonderful lot.
I can only describe it as receiving a warm hug all the time.

From our first visit to Brunswick House we knew it was the right place for mum. Brunswick house has a lovely homely atmosphere. Mum had a lovely room and was very happy there. Sadly after 3 weeks at the home mum became unwell and passed away 5 weeks later. All the wonderful staff were very caring,
always giving mum the best attention and making her last weeks comfortable and happy. As visitors we, the family, were also made to feel very welcome and at home, nothing was to much trouble for the staff. I would thoroughly recommend Brunswick House.

Due to matters out of our control, we had to move Mum out of her previous care home. The stress of finding the right facility to suit her needs within a constrained timeframe was very high. The manager and assistant manager at Brunswick House went above and beyond to ensure Mum's place at Brunswick
was secured and that she obtained her preferred room. All members of staff are wonderful, looking after Mum with a smile and trying their best to brighten her day. Particular thanks must go to the nurses and care staff who work tirelessly and maintenance who have made her room a home. Thank you Brunswick House for giving my father and I confidence that Mum is in good hands!

I found the home disappointing, some of the staff were excellent but for some it was just a job and they did just what they had to do, I felt I was lied to when I questioned them about some of my concerns, my friend spent many hours on his own with nobody entering his room making him very isolated,
over the new year period I spent 12 hours with him, 7 on New Year's Eve and 5 on New Year's Day and we did not see a single member of staff.
One good thing was the food was generally very good, although my friend could not eat anything
My biggest disappointment was the fact that no one came to represent the home at my friends funeral and I went out of my way to let them know, I think that shows just how little they care

All the staff that work at Brunswick house have been very kind, caring, loving and very supportive all the time our mum stayed here. Our mum was a resident here for only 4 months before she passed away but those 4 months were made very enjoyable and mum was happy, content and felt safe at Brunswick
house and also felt like one of their family. The care, support & love mum and the rest of her family received were absolutely amazing. They could not do enough for mum and us before our mum passed away. The team here should be very proud and the manager very very proud of her team. Thank you so so much.

I have nothing negative to say about Brunswick Nursing Home.
My mother has only been in the home for a short time but I am so pleased that she is there. The value for money is that she is being care for, the security is excellent and she is safe. My mother has gone from hardly eating to enjoying the
food and also being with other residents and not in her home. The staff are kind and they treat all the residents with respect. My reviews are are truly how I see the home.

I could not have got a better care home for my mother. The staff was so caring and loving, it was like it was their mother. They could not do enough for my mum. The room was lovely my mother was very fussy about her food, but she said the food was lovely. I dreaded putting my mum in a home as she never
wanted to leave her house and never go into a care home. She came out of hospital and we put her in Brunswick house and she loved it there. She has now died but I know the last 6 months of her life were made infinitely better being in this care home. Thank you to all the staff.

My mum needed emergency care, following a discharge from hospital. We really needed to find a safe place for my mum to recover from a major operation and Brunswick House Nursing Home provided this support.
The nurses were really proactive in her care, arranging blood tests and pain relief, the carers
were very kind, the management team was very supportive and the food was fantastic. Thank you.

My 85-year-old aunt, who suffered a stroke two years ago, has been living at Brunswick House for the past 18 months, and I couldn't be happier with the care. The staff at Brunswick House can be truly exceptional. They're always friendly, compassionate, and attentive. The nursing team have been incredibly
skilled and patient. The management is also top-notch. They have created a positive and supportive environment for staff, residents and their families. I have witnessed first-hand the management's support for all. There is a real sense of community that exists among the residents. My aunt enjoys the interaction with the care team from nurses to the cleaning and catering teams. Overall, I can't speak highly enough about Brunswick House. It's a wonderful place where my aunt feels safe, loved, and cared for. If u need a caring and supportive environment for an elderly loved one, I wholeheartedly recommend Brunswick House.

Brunswick House was complete heaven for my husband in the last stages of his life with dementia. He was included in all activities each day. I couldn't ask for better care. The manager and all the staff were wonderful and worked as a team, sharing all aspects of his care with me. Nothing was too much
trouble. I felt included in their family like all the other residents.
I still go back and visit even though it's over 12 months ago.
I would put my name down to go there if I could!

Mother was transferred early morning to Brunswick House Nursing Home from hospital. The staff were fantastic at settling Mother to her new accommodation, they made her feel safe and less stressed.
All of the staff took the time to introduce themselves to Mother and also to find out about us, her family.
They explained the workings of the home and took time to understand Mother's needs. The priest came and introduced himself to Mother and they said a prayer together. You could see the stress and anxiety lift from Mother's face. I left feeling confident that the staff would keep Mother safe and make her stay at Brunswick a happy one. Thank you to the team at Brunswick House.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.766)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.766) out of 10 for Brunswick House Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.766 for Brunswick House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (206 Excellents x 5) + (34 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 252 Ratings = 4.766
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brunswick House Nursing Home is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2, which has been reached with 21 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
