Set beside the beautiful Robinswood Hill Country Park, Brunswick House is a welcoming 1940s mock Tudor home offering tailored care and heartfelt support. Whether you're looking for residential, nursing, dementia, respite, day or palliative care, the experienced team is here to make every day that little bit easier – and a lot more joyful.

Care needs may change over time. That’s why Brunswick House offers both residential and nursing care, meaning residents can continue to live in the same familiar surroundings even as their needs evolve, with no disruption or need to move elsewhere.

Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, many with en-suite facilities, and the home has plenty of shared spaces to enjoy – including two lounges, a bright and airy conservatory, and a peaceful courtyard and garden that’s perfect for sunny afternoons or catch-ups with family.

There’s always something going on – from visits to local animal sanctuaries and interactive storytelling sessions, to themed afternoons and gardening clubs. Every activity is optional and thoughtfully planned to suit different tastes and abilities.

Mealtimes are another highlight, with freshly prepared dishes cooked on-site each day by the talented in-house chef. Menus are shaped around residents’ preferences and dietary needs – because good food and good care go hand in hand.

Brunswick House is more than a care home. It’s a place where people feel known, valued, and genuinely cared for.

My husband and I cannot thank all the staff and managers enough for the welcome you gave us and my mother-in-law who is now a resident at Brunswick House.
Nothing has been too much trouble from picking a room to labelling Mum's clothes.
It has been a long and hard journey for us as a family to get
where we are today and you all made this last step so easy.
Everyone has been very kind and friendly.
Massive thank you.

My mother was 97 years old and in the later stages of dementia. The staff and nursing care were very good with many going above and beyond to help maintain her with great dignity. The room was beautiful and maintained daily. The food was plentiful and well-cooked. The nursing care in her final days
was determined and caring. The you; you all did a wonderful job.

Brunswick House Nursing Home is an absolutely beautiful, lovely home, the staff are just so amazing, nothing is too much trouble for them and the care they give is outstanding. The manager is so loving and caring and nothing is ever too much trouble for her, you always see her work the floor alongside
her care staff. This home gives 200 per cent to their residents and their families, this is why my family chose for my aunt to spend her final months there. I would highly recommend this nursing home 200 per cent.

All staff are welcoming, polite and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and any query is sorted instantly. Mum's room is always clean and smell-free. Mum is always happy with all the food and drinks she is given, and says "they look after me so well here". She wears clean clothes every day, and her
hair is washed weekly. She now accepts the personal care and toileting she needs on a daily basis. It's just so homely. Thank you so much for all your care!

Mum has lived here for several months. This home is well managed with great staff who go above and beyond to make residents (and visitors) feel welcomed and comfortable. They hold regular events e.g singing sessions, music quizzes and the latest event the Christmas fayre was well supported. This is
a great home with exceptional staff. Thank you for all you do.

My mum was in Brunswick House Nursing Home for two weeks of respite care. The home itself was light, airy and very pleasant. Not dark and dingy. The thing that made this home special was the staff. All were so helpful, kind, approachable, professional and cheerful. The place was spotlessly clean. The
meals were homemade and looked delicious. I have past experience of other care homes - this one was far superior. Thank you to all.

A good, well-run care home for advanced dementia. My brother came to this home after a 6-month hospital stay. He stayed for 4 months. He was very well cared for and, for the most part, enjoyed his time there, especially the friendly, kind and caring staff. However, social services felt he was too young
(78) for this environment as there was little motivation to get him up and dressed every day. He mostly just lay in bed, lacking stimulation.
Reply from Rachael White, Registered Manager at Brunswick House Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to review our service. I'm so glad that your brother enjoyed his time with us for the most part. Although we do support those with dementia, we are not an advanced dementia home so I am sorry if that is how we have been portrayed. Our activities team do visit those in their rooms and offer activities, but we understand that not everyone wishes to participate in this part of the service, be it not their preferred activity. Again, I really appreciate the time you have taken to provide us with this feedback so that we can improve our service. I will pass on your kind words and comments to the team.

My mother came into Brunswick House Nursing Home after a bad experience at another home. The difference between the two homes is how welcoming the staff are here, from the moment the door is answered and also when the telephone is answered. Mum has not mentioned once about wanting to go home. She has
settled in well in a lovely big room, allowing us to make it personal with items of furniture, pictures and ornaments. Her personal and dietary needs are met. There's socialising in the lovely lounge and we have the option of spending time with her in the lovely garden or in her bedroom. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care given to Mum. I don't feel l need to apologise for asking about Mum, the staff are always happy to talk to me and with me and Mum and listen to us. So, thank you, for allowing me to be a daughter and you, her carers.

My mum came in for a few weeks' respite which was sadly cut short due to having to go into hospital. The care she received by staff at Brunswick House in those eleven days was first class and my mum was very happy, far happier than even I expected. The manager and clinical lead were exceptional and
have been in constant contact during my mum’s hospitalisation. I really hope that my mum will be able to return to Brunswick House after a period of rehabilitation, as there is nowhere else that I would consider, after observing such exemplary care. Thank you all so much.

All the staff have been amazing, helpful, friendly and always showed great compassion. They have gone over and above their daily duties to ensure that our mother was always comfortable and taken care of during the time she has been a resident. Nothing was too much trouble and they also took care of

Staff and management are very pleasant. My issue with the food is mum only likes basic food. She has never eaten lasagne, chilli, curry or anything like that. I think this should be taken into account. Apart from that and a couple of other little things, I am really satisfied with Mum's welfare.

My parents were made welcome from the moment they moved in, initially in a double room where they could be together. Sadly, my father died ten days after arrival. My mother remained in their care.
Brunswick House should be acknowledged for all the hard work and individual care given to each resident.
The entire staff were caring, considerate and kind. The sometimes, spontaneous evidence of the care, was taking a selected group of residents to Gloucester Cathedral for a carol concert. My mother who had been close to the church all her life, derived much pleasure from this. The manager will move heaven and earth to accommodate the needs of the entire family, went out of her way to keep us informed and involved with sensitivity and respect. The clinical lead who was with my mother at the end of her life, showed care and compassion, which made it easier not being there in my mother’s last moments. I have absolutely no qualms in recommending Brunswick House and the entire staff.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.766)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.766) out of 10 for Brunswick House Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 22 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.766 for Brunswick House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (206 Excellents x 5) + (34 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 252 Ratings = 4.766
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brunswick House Nursing Home is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2, which has been reached with 21 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
