Inglefields has been an exemplary home for my father. I brought my mother and father over to the Island 2 years ago so we could look after them better here, rather than in Surrey. Unfortunately my father, who suffered with Dementia before he came over, contracted a UTI which exasperated his Dementia and it was clear he needed full time care. Inglefields were so very empathetic to our needs both for my father and my mother, both in their mid 90's, my father unfortunately has deteriorated over the past year and I have to say Inglefields have looked after him brilliantly. They have kept me informed of developments and he is being looked after so well given the situation. He's a lovely man but does present problems, uncharacteristic of his former self and presents significant challenges in his ongoing care needs. As far as I'm concerned Inglfield represents the very best care with dedicated staff and management and I would have no problem in recommending this facility.

Reply from Charlotte Willis, Manager at Inglefield Nursing & Residential Home

Thank you so much for your kind words, we understand how incredibly challenging it is to watch a parent navigate the advanced stages of dementia, and we know how much love and thought went into bringing your parents to the Island to be closer to you. It is our privilege to care for your father here...

She looks forward to joining in the different activities offered each day and spending time in the company of other people. My lovely Downs Syndrome sister has been a resident at Inglefield for over 3 years. From day one she's been very happy here. The staff are all so caring & kind, she loves them all. She's now suffering with dementia & her personality is changing, but despite her outbursts the staff are as kind as ever. There are some great activities for residents to join in with, & regular outings. I'm so grateful that she is somewhere safe, I can relax knowing that, & I trust all the staff to do their very best for her. Inglefield has a lovely feel about it as soon as you enter, thank goodness they could accommodate my sister, we couldn't have found anywhere better.

I recently had to arrange some respite care for my dad. It was quite short notice, so I wasn't sure if Inglefield would be able to help. I needn't have worried. A room was available for my dad, and on arrival, all the staff made him feel welcome. On contacting him during his stay, he was always telling me how nice the food was and how lovely the staff were. It was reassuring knowing dad was in safe hands. I would like to thank all the staff for making his stay enjoyable.

I have been in Inglefield for nearly 5 1/2 years. From the start I have felt comfortable and have been treated with great kindness and care and great nursing carer. No requests for anything have been too much trouble. It could not be better. The food is excellent and variable, always well cooked and keep available for any special requirements. The activities are variable and fun!

The standard of cleanliness is orangsied by our excellent house keeper and it is always kept beautifully. Our manager Charlotte is a very fun women and always approachable and will deal with all requests quickly and effectively. I would not want to be anywhere else but here, my home.

We moved Mum to Inglefield from another home in Newport where we had concerns about the quality of care. Mum has been very happy here. From the second day the care staff were happy to get her out of bed and into a chair and take her out into the garden. The staff are extremely conscientious and friendly and the quality of care provided has been exemplary throughout the last two years of her stay here. She is more responsive in this home and smiles and laughs a lot. She is much sharper because of the stimulus she gets from the staff and the time they invest in her in the activities room. If only all nursing homes were this good.

I needed to arrange some respite for my mother at very short notice. The team at Inglefield went out of their way to help us and managed to accommodate her despite the tight deadline. She spent two weeks there and was well cared for by the friendly staff. She particularly enjoyed the food! I'd have no hesitation in booking another stay there should the need arise.

My mother died in January 2025 aged 101 years old. She was a resident at the care home for over two years and during that time had outstanding care from the staff. Her personal hygiene was always immaculate, the food i saw her consume looked interesting and tasty - mother was a very good cook and fussy with her standards, but seemed to really enjoy what she ate. She also enjoyed the activities, which were varied and imaginative - in particular she loved the Dementia Choir (although she couldn't sing well!) Above all, the warmth and genuine caring she had from the staff meant that I had peace of mind, knowing she was being looked after so well - at her end of life, the care she was given was professional and gentle. I think she was very fortunate to be a resident there and will always be grateful for the patience and understanding she was given.

Neither my wife nor I had had any previous experience of residential care and although my wife's visit was for only 7 days we were able to see just how good the home was. For a start, it was good that there was ample parking and a driveway right up to the front door. The building is attractive and the inside cosy and welcoming despite the considerable activity as the staff went about their jobs. The staff were friendly and kind and were soon calling my wife by her first name. The food and recreation were of high quality. Our early departure on the last day was dealt with very professionally with clothes etc. neatly packed.
