Overall Experience

My wife was admitted to Inglefield as a terminally ill patient at the end of June and received very caring treatment from all the staff during the four months of her stay right up until the end. I visited her each day and sat in the room with her until evening and was able to observe her care and the attending staff at first hand and can only speak highly of all concerned. They all spoke of my wife as a lovely lady and treated her as such that is the simple truth.

We were pleased with most of the care. They all seemed friendly. A couple of carers I felt were not 100%. I felt a bit more bed care needed approach to P.T.
Most nurses very approachable, two not very approachable, abrupt and outspoken to staff in front of P.T. - not very professional.
The home is kept clean. Meals have a good choice.
Most staff very good and caring.

Certain medication found not to be given to my mother, which I was surprised at and wondered if this was fault on the hospital not prescribing, so am taking this up with management there. Stopped or did not receive Thyroxine and another one also.

Every effort was made to make Mum comfortable. Any problem I could take them to the staff in charge that shift and try to resolve, which did happen.

Staff very friendly and caring.

It is the lady carers in this home that make it what it is. Things are slowly changing under new management. It still needs time.

When I was told my sister needed full-time residential care I had no hesitation in approaching Inglefield Nursing & Residential Home as I had previously visited another resident and I was impressed then, The whole place is so clean, the staff are friendly and efficient and also extremely patient. The food is excellent and various entertainment for the residents is provided.

Reply from Liana Birkett, Director at Inglefield Nursing & Residential Home

Inglefield always has a positive atmosphere with mostly smiling carers and workers (compared to the two previous care homes mum was in) Very helpful in phoning me when mum has falls or other problems and the medical care is good. The only problem has been loss of some clothes and the appearance of other peoples clothes in mums room?

She is very much happier in this nursing home. We find the female family managers most helpful and well organised.

Excellent care & kindness to both my partner & myself. Couldn't ask for better. Very good provision of nursing & care staff who were cheerful and efficient. This is a very well-run nursing home which should be reciprocated all over the UK.
