My husband was made very welcome by the delightful staff and lovingly cared for. The staff are excellent and really care for their charges. The room was very pleasant with a nice view and plenty of space to hang clothes. He had two falls and a foot infection while a resident, which were dealt with promptly
and efficiently.
I cannot praise the staff enough, not only for the care for my husband but also for the help given to me in helping with the various items which needed to be brought to and from the car.

I had two weeks respite care at Mulberry House after major surgery. I was looking for complete rest to prepare me for being at home alone. The care I received was second to none - both management & staff did their utmost to let me have the rest I needed, whilst keeping a close eye on all of my requirements
- I couldn't have asked for more!
I was unable to take advantage of the varied activities on offer due to my circumstances, so I can't comment on this aspect.
My grateful thanks to you all for your care & kindness.

My Mum has been a resident in Mulberry House for the last 3 years as she is living with dementia. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday and the staff could not have done more to make her feel special, going out of their way to facilitate a private party for her friends and relatives.
The standard
of care she receives daily is very high, and the activities on offer are absolutely fantastic. The home has a warm and friendly feel, is clean and well maintained, residents are treated with respect and care. Making the decision to move a loved one into a care home is so difficult, but I genuinely believe it is the best place for my beloved Mum, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

My mum was at Mulberry House for respite care after an operation. It is a very lovely house, clean and well maintained in a lovely setting with a homely feel. The most amazing thing about it though is the staff. Everyone was so friendly and happy in their work. Genuinely concerned, caring and always
on hand for anything. Mum was looked after very well and I wouldn't hesitate recommending to anyone, whether for a short respite stay or a longer more permanent stay. Thank you to everyone at Mulberry House.

My mum lived at Mulberry House for two and a half years until she passed away peacefully. She was always so complimentary about the staff, their professionalism and compassion, their friendliness and caring approach. As her son living in a different country, it gave me great comfort that she so well
looked after by such caring staff.

We had to put a family friend into a care home after struggling at home alone, she was very nervous and apprehensive about going into a care home, but from the moment she arrived she was made very welcome by the friendly staff and management team which put her mind at ease. She has settled in very
well and thoroughly enjoying the many activities that the home put on. She really looks forward to her favourite roast dinner. She is certainly living her best life. Amazing care home with amazing staff, would highly recommend.

My nan spent 6 months at The Firs before passing away in April this year, the staff made her feel so welcome and so did the residents. The activity coordinators are amazing, so many varied different activities, my nan joined in with cooking, flower arranging, arts and crafts, bingo, knitting, all things
which hadn't been possible for her for years. The food at The Firs was lovely, with varied meals, multiple options. Staff always alerted us if they had any concerns, following all the correct procedures when she fell, or when she had a rash or a swollen leg, for example. Myself and my family I can't recommend The Firs enough.

The moment I stepped into Mulberry House, I felt very welcome. Someone showed me to my room, the room was very nice on the second floor. Several staff members helped me to feel at ease. The food was very nice. if I felt hungry, I would ask for a cup of tea and biscuits. Staff were always popping in
to see if I needed anything. Lots of activities to join in if I wished. Had my hair washed and dried each week I was there. Overall, a lovely stay while my daughter was away.

The Firs is a lovely care home. The staff are very caring and helpful, friendly and happy.
My father always tells me he is so happy there and very well looked after, which is all you ever want to hear.
I have not hesitations whatsoever recommending this home.
The activities are well thought out,
they cater to all abilities and they even have a bar! The residents really are treated as a family. I couldn't have picked a better home for him

The staff are always friendly and try to be helpful, cleaners and support team, gardener and chef really high standards. Rooms, cleaned well, but they could do with some updates in some cases. Lounge, library, very nice spaces and good for quiet chats, meetings, tea etc. Food seems good and home-cooked,
lovely gardens. good social and activity options. More evidence of joined-up thinking between medics, the elderly, the Mental Health Team and family would be helpful.

The staff, without exception, were always kind, helpful and gave my mother-in-law the best care. She really enjoyed her chats with such friendly staff, and she loved joining in all the activities and entertainment. With the careful management of her medication, she recovered a lot over the first few
months up to a year. Her care was specific to her changing capabilities, which gave her some happy times. The staff made it comfortable for the family to visit, and excellent communication of her needs. She also loved the food.

First impression of The Firs is that the staff are very caring, the management very good with our mums needs. Mum has settled in very quickly, there are lots of activities and a very beautiful garden which she likes to sit in with lovely flowers. The First turned out to be a fantastic choice.

Whenever we visit we are always welcomed and never made to feel in the way. Always offered a cup of tea and a room for chat. The activities they have are amazing, the food always looks lovely. The staff very accommodating and caring. The home has a lovely look and ambience about it. They ring you as

A fabulous place. I feel I am visiting Mum in her home, not a care home, she seems so comfortable. Who wouldn't though, with such kind, attentive and polite carers. And the food! What a selection on the menu. Walking around, there is so much on the walls to make you stop look and interact with Mum rather
than just walk between rooms. It's as good as you could want for your mum.

My sister moved into Mulberry House last year as she had recently been diagnosed with Dementia. She has been treated with kindness and warmth and is very happy there. The staff and Manager went out of their way to welcome her and encourage any activities she might enjoy. It has made a potentially difficult
and traumatic change, much easier for her to accept.

My 95-year-old father-in-law moved into Mulberry house in January of this year. He was in a very frail condition, having found it increasingly hard to look after himself at home. Within weeks, the care and attention that he received has been transformational. He is now enjoying life again, and has regained
that sparkle in his eye. We have not met many of the staff, but have so far been very impressed with two of them, and very much look forward to meeting their colleages.

My father (95yrs) suffered a fall/infection 2 weeks before becoming a resident at Mulberry House. He was no longer able to live alone safely. A few weeks on and he's clearly feeling content and settled. He says he loves the food and finds all the staff very friendly and helpful. We as a family know
he is safe and being very well cared for which brings everyone huge peace of mind.

Mum came to Mulberry in August 2022 after falls at home and a recent diagnosis of Alzheimer's. I already knew of the home, it had a good reputation although was in CQC special measures when I first visited but I was very happy with the home itself, the staff I met, and how they planned to care for Mum.
They explained why the CQC report wasn't good and that made sense to me.
Mum didn't settle in straight away and wanted to stay in her room but gradually she was persuaded to integrate.
The level of care has been second to none. I've visited twice weekly on average and I have never had any concerns. There is always a member of staff with residents, a constant flow of food and drink, meals and snacks, birthday cakes for residents, loads of activities, sing-a-longs, quiet films, games, chats etc.
The staff are wonderful, they are kind, respectful and friendly, to both mum and me.
Regarding fees divide the monthly cost by 30 days then 24 hrs equals less than £9 per hour for 24 hr care.
