My experience when visiting is one of seeing the residents happy and warm. The staff are friendly and welcoming, they are always ready with a drink of tea or coffee!! They will always explain what is going on with our uncle and what needs doing. Can't find anything to complain about at all. Well done.

Hendra House is a home from home, the description my Mum used. The staff are professional, patient, kind, caring and always welcoming to family and visitors alike. The home, rooms, facilities are spotlessly clean. The food is excellent. The menu varied with choices available. The residents feel loved and treasured.

In early January a doctor visited my mother and recommended she be taken to the hospital. At 94 years old my mum did not want to go, I agreed with her.
So Hendra House with the doctors support made my mums last two weeks pain-free, with dignity, respect and an enormous amount of love.
I could not have wished for a more peaceful end for her.

As an only child, they also gave me support and comfort at a very emotional time.

I recently moved my mother here, and within one week the change in her is remarkable.
She said in her own words that she feels so safe finally from where she was before.

The staff have been amazing at settling her in and now she smiles again every day.

My mother has been in Hendra House Residential Home for some years now. The home was well known for its excellent care and management and we were delighted our mother was able to come here. We have not been disappointed in any way with any aspect of her care. The facilities are kept beautifully clean. The staff are very trained and highly efficient as well as thoughtful and kind. No excuse for celebration or fun is overlooked - I am sure all the residents feel cherished and loved.

I'm very well looked after. The staff are very kind and helpful. The menu is varied and healthy and we have a choice at each meal. The staff are very flexible and will serve meals in our rooms if we choose. The room is kept clean and the bathroom spotless with fresh towels every morning. The ladies in the laundry do a wonderful job.

Having had a not so good experience at mothers previous care home, Hendra House was a revelation. The staff were very warm, welcoming and professional. The rooms and facilities were immaculate there was even a bouquet of flowers in mum's room on arrival. Every day there would be something to occupy the residents whether it was games, live entertainment or just having their hair done.

I was sad when the time came for mum to move on and I would certainly recommend this home to anybody. I cannot praise it enough.

My mother is in her mid 90's and has mobility problems. Her care is exemplary. The staff are friendly, concerned about her well-being and happiness and go way beyond the average standard of care and attention. Residents are well fed and enjoy taking their meals together. On the housekeeping side, everywhere is very clean, it does not have the smell commonly found in care homes, clothing is returned promptly, nicely washed and ironed. The owner goes to great lengths to make sure residents are well cared for and valued. No one could slip through the cracks.

At the initial telephone contact, there was a good feeling which was reinforced on the first exploratory visit. The staff are always welcoming and show concern for residents and visitors alike. Living 50 miles away, there needs to be confidence in a care home and you certainly get this from Hendra. Everyone knows mum and when we phone they can give us a detailed account of her wellbeing. Nothing is too much trouble for owners, managers and each and every member of staff. Entertainment activities and trips out are organised regularly and the atmosphere throughout is home from home (plus). Mum, a dementia sufferer has been unwell and the care afforded has been outstanding for which we are all extremely grateful.

My dad has lived in Hendra House Residential Home for a couple of years now and I have nothing but praise for them. For example on her day off last weekend, one of the staff took dad for a day out to watch her daughter racing.

I cannot praise enough the care and attention that my sister received in Hendra House. Everyone at the home treated her with the utmost care and love. During her last few weeks, her end of life care was wonderful. All the staff from the manager, nurses, carers were wonderful. Also, the support that we, her family received immediately after her death was exemplary. A wonderful home - in the true sense of the word.

I really cannot fault Hendra House, the Owner has been brilliant, mom liked him very much, he made her laugh and was always there for a chat if she needed to. The staff were all so friendly, when ever I went to visit. The staff new exactly what my mom had been doing and where she was at with her medication, eating etc. Always up dated me with phone calls on how she was if there had been a change in her. Hendra is an exceptional residential home, clean, lots for the residents to do social evenings, days out, summer fetes and more. Certainly would recommend this lovely home.

Moving mum into a care home was massive for both mum and my sister and I, following mum's deteriorating dementia. Right from the word go the staff and management were brilliant. I felt very reassured that mum was being put first- her involvement in as many decisions as possible, the efforts made to make her feel part of the "family", time spent by staff to make her feel loved, time spent to reassure family and respond to our demands/wishes. She was always clean, tidy and every effort made to accommodate her appetite/lack of. I could not have asked for more from a home and would be happy to spend my later years there. Their communication was outstanding- they always knew the answers or could find the information within minutes, to mums medication, washing, food intake etc. Nothing was ever too much to ask. Mum had various medication changes during her time at Hendra House. The staff always included us in the changes and I felt very confident with their advice.

Hendra House is an outstanding care home. The home is extremely well-led and the staff are caring, kind and, without exception, truly wonderful to the residents. My mother-law has settled in without any problems and is very happy. As a result my wife has total peace of mind, safe in the knowledge that her mother is receiving such wonderful care. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hendra House to anybody.

My mother has been a resident at Hendra House for 7 months now. We are extremely happy with the care and support she has received in this time. The staff are well qualified, caring and well managed. Residents are treated with care and courtesy, staff take the time to get to know all their residents and as a consequence are sensitive to their varying needs and frailties. As visitors we are always made welcome and any day to day issues are dealt with promptly and effectively. Communication is excellent and we are all made to feel part of the Hendra 'family'.
