Hinstock Manor is a real gem of a place, it's like a five-star hotel for elderly, disabled and infirm people. I researched and visited numerous care homes when my wife and myself had to put her father into care. Hinstock Manor is head and shoulders better than any other place we visited.
The premises
are well kept, clean and bright. The rooms are spotless and the staff likewise are always well presented. Every single member of the team make you feel like they are very proud of the service they provide and so they should be!
The friendliness of Hinstock Manor starts with the receptionist and is continued by every other member of staff you speak to and is simply amazing. I cannot thank them enough for the way in which they look after my In-Laws.
Food is homemade by the in-house chefs and is plentiful and wholesome. Beverages are always available and there is enough staff at all times to keep these standards high.
Well done to all your staff, I cannot recommend you highly enough!

This care home is exceptional, in every way. It’s is clean, welcoming and most of all has the most wonderful, caring and kind staff. We could not be happier with the care they give to my Father. It’s very hard to place someone close to you in care, however, when we visit him he says he is well looked
after and loves the home. My Dad has acute Alzheimer’s and can be quite demanding and a real handful at times and we know how hard he can be to cope with. All the staff, without exception, are patient, kind and caring towards him. He has an excellent room and he himself is always clean and tidy. We are very lucky to have found Hinstock Manor. We had previously looked at other care homes and none of them matches the standards of this one,

Everyone at Hinstock Manor is very helpful and supportive to my mother and myself. Care is excellent, food is very good and drinks are always available and encouraged.
Also, there are lots of activities going on to help stimulate the elderly.

My husband has been at Hinstock Manor due to a stroke and Alzheimer's for the past 4 and a half months, he is 84 and I am 83 and having been his carer for 19 and a half years I was worn out and doctors advised he had to be admitted permanently. I can honestly say it was and is the best residential care
home in this area that I saw.

My mother has been at Hinstock Manor for 12 months and in that time she has received excellent care and support for her and the family.
Extra activities staff come in every day and entertain and manipulate the residents in a group activity and also on a one to one basis for extra support. Everyone
works well together and there is a happy atmosphere always.
The food is cooked fresh on the premises and there are fresh homemade cakes in the afternoon.
Very efficiently run home.

My mother has been a resident of Hinstock Manor since February 2015. I have found the staff amazing, very caring, helpful and always willing to listen and help in anyway possible. My mother has had problems with dementia and the staff have always understood and done everything they could for her. They
have been very supportive and have done all they can for my mum. The home has a lovely, friendly feel and I am so glad my mum has been looked after here.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.478)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.478) out of 10 for Hinstock Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.748 for Hinstock Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (91 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 119 Ratings = 4.748
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.73 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hinstock Manor Care Home is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.75
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 51 registered maximum number of service users is 10.2. 10 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.2 = 0.98
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
