Hinstock Manor Care Home

from Carron J (Daughter of Resident) published on 8 September 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Both my parents have been in Hinstock Manor since November and December 2024. We as a family were unable to choose where we wanted our parents to go as it was an emergency situation and my mum needed placement as my dad was admitted to hospital. It is almost an hour from where we all live. We couldn't
have found a better place for both of them to be together. The staff go way and beyond what they should be doing. They have a lot to put up with but do it with care and a smile on their faces. They spoil them as if they are their family. We have found places closer to where we live but none of them compare to how well they are looked after. Anything my dad asks for to eat , he is given, even up to 3 full English breakfasts a day. He has put on 3 stone since he has been there. My mum needs encouraging to eat and a special diet and this is made and they feed her with care and not rushed. We would recommend Hinstock Manor to any family needing placement for family members.

Overall, I am happy with the care that my husband has received. It is clean and tidy, but his room needs painting. The food is okay, but could be improved with a few more choices. His carer is good at her job, and if you have any questions, she will sort it out. My husband is in Lancaster House.

Park House Nursing Home

Having viewed many Care Homes in the Nottinghamshire area I decided on Park House.
I was immediately impressed with all aspects of care all the residents are shown.
The Staff were very kind and helpful in answering all my questions and helping me make one of my biggest decisions.
The Home itself
is very clean and very well kept.

All the staff at Westwood are very caring and professional. They work very hard to keep my mum happy and healthy. Her room is always clean and tidy. Mum is well fed with lots of cups of tea. I can honestly say without them all I don't think I would still have my mum . I can never thank every single
one of them enough.
Thank you for a wonderful summer Fayre you all worked so hard.

My father has settled at Windy Knowe, due to the care of all the staff. I can not praise them enough. I'm so very thankful. Excellent home and all staff are so kind caring as if my dad was their father what more could I ask for. Thank you from my heart. Everything is only the best and they are so looked
after and split - which is great as its their end of life. Thank you all.

My husband's care home closed suddenly, and almost overnight, he moved to Windy Knowe, a much bigger home. I was anxious as to know how he would cope in a larger environment but have been completely blown away by the level of care - the staff are amazing. Within a couple of hours every member of staff
knew his name and mine. There were no times when I could not visit and I even have lunch with him. Although large the atmosphere is warm and inclusive - everyone is catered for and the rooms are lovely. Absolutely recommend 100%.

Mum was a resident of Bucklow for 15 months after a stay in hospital. She had dementia and unfortunately had a number of falls. Initially she was not happy and wanted to go home (which sadly was not an option). The staff dealt with a difficult situation really well and Mum settled in after a week or
so. Bucklow is a very pleasant environment with the conservatories and the gardens to sit in. Mum's room was light and pleasant and had a nice view of the garden.
She enjoyed the activities and the staff really liked her. They put on a very nice party for her birthday and were always attentive and treated her very well. The staff were always in touch with me and very helpful with Mum's specific needs.

This home is so fantastic, the staff are so caring and understanding. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff go out of their way to make sure the residents are stimulated and entertained with lots of different activities. My husband is always presented in a very clean and hygenic manner. Considering
he is doubly incontinent I have never detected any impleasent odour when I give him a hug. Thanks should be given to the management for such a great service.

The Chace

My father has been a resident at The Chase for over 2 years now suffering with worsening Dementia.
I can honestly say, the care he has received over this time has been excellent.
The Manager in charge and her deputy, genuinely care about each resident, listen to any concerns (and most importantly
act upon them) when I've raised anything.
Communication from The Chase is excellent, and I am regularly informed if there are any changes in my dad's behaviour or health.
All the care staff know my dad well, and treat him with dignity and respect, which is so lovely to see.
It's a 2 hour round trip to visit my dad at The Chase, but without fail each time I drive home, I am comforted in the knowledge he's in the best place possible and is being very well cared for.
He is happy and settled there!
Thank you for all you do - I truly appreciate your hard work and commitment.

Myself and my husband were so worried about using anywhere for respite care, but, unfortunately we both knew that this was the way forward for us, and, as soon as we were greeted by everyone at Bucklow Manor Care Home we felt at ease. Our first visit was unannounced and we were greeted very warmly and
nothing was too much trouble. Within 30 minutes of being shown around, my husband said "I know I will feel comfortable here", which was quite overwhelming to hear, as we are a very close couple and have lived together 24/7 since retiring in 1998.
My husband has now completed two short respite stays at Bucklow Manor and has been very happy and comfortable both times, we would not entertain anywhere else, as the staff are just wonderful, I really feel as a loving wife that it is the only place other than my husband spending the odd day at home with family members that we feel is right for both of us. We convey our warmest and most loving thanks to all at Bucklow Manor for putting us at ease
