Always found the staff to be absolutely delightful, kind, caring and compassionate and treated my father with the utmost respect and dignity - they are all so kind and caring with all the residents.
My father passed away whilst at Henning Hall and the staff couldn't have done enough to help.

We are all very grateful to them.

Three years ago my wife was admitted to Henning Hall with dementia. She was agressive, would not accept personal hygiene and could not be managed at home. She was previously in two care homes which could not accept her.

The staff in Henning Hall showed immense patience and understanding such that she was able to settle but still resists personal hygiene.

My husband's stay for post hospital care cannot be faulted in terms of the staff's attitude ,care , kindness , patience and encouragement. Everyone was always calm , cheerful and friendly.
The room was small but adequate and he liked the food provided .
The age of the building meant that it was very difficult for him to get around in his electric wheelchair . His room and the rest of the building were always clean and well maintained .
The activity coordinators tried hard to find activities that he wanted to join in.

Due to the care of the staff he was able to return home eventually .

This is an excellent car/Nursing home.
My mother has been in here for 6 weeks now currently for rehabilitation on discharge from the hospital.
Every single member of staff is fantastic they all make you feel so welcome & look after mum incredibly well ,I honestly don't have enough words to express how fantastic this place is..
So clean, tidy, smells good, decorated well, I witness the cleaner one day on her hands & knees wiping Inbetween the radiator grill cover!! And they even clean the carpets in rooms.

Although all stuff are amazing, there's a couple that do stand out and are the ones I know the names of Sarah who wakes on reception is absolutely fantastic at what she does. Nothing is ever too much trouble for you and she always has time to listen to you, Doris the manager is absolutely fantastic. She also has time patience understanding and deals with things very swiftly and keeps to her word. One of my mother's carers. Joby is amazing with her again he has time patience.

Wanted to take some time to make sure I put together a review of Henning Hall. My mum was in there for nearly two years and throughout her time there, we witnessed nothing short of excellent care from everyone on the care team. They always had someone watching over the residents, who were never left alone or we felt were unsupported. Always a friendly welcome and would offer you a cup of tea or coffee when you arrived, not to mention a slice of cake if you wanted! Very relaxed atmosphere, which made my mum feel happy and at home. Really nice activities to keep everyone occupied and stimulated. My mum continually wanted to leave previous care homes, but we never got that from her, when she was at Henning. She was happy and settled throughout her time. Real big thanks to the team for making her final days comfortable and most of all peaceful. x

In general, my experience was good. Support by staff was good and very prompt if you used your call button. Food was always good. My room was a bit on the small side. The physio was very disappointing. I was supposed to have psychotherapy every day, but this did not happen, and visits were very random.

Reply from Macie Cox, Marketing Executive at Henning Hall Nursing Home

Thank you so much for your review, we really appreciate your feedback at Henning! Sadly we don't have any control on the physiotherapy visits as they are linked to the hospital not Henning personally.

My husband came to Henning Hall on Feb 6th 2025, from the first day to his last on June 26th 2024, he was cared for in an exceptional way. The staff on Brocklehurst Wing were caring, compassionate, respectful and knowledgeable. Without their love and care for both of us, in our lives, we would've missed out on such beautiful caring people. I could never be able to thank them for all the care and love poured into my husband and myself. My heartfelt thanks to all at Henning Hall.

Everything is as it should be and all the necessary duties are completed very well by the good staff at the nursing home. The staff will always contact me by phone with any updates. Mum was sent to Henning Hall Nursing Home after a 4 week stay in hospital. She settled in after about a week and a half. The staff were excellent. They provided a safe and caring environment. She was always clean and presentable. I couldn't fault the care that was given to her.

Mum has been a resident on two occasions during 2024 following a short hospital stay. On both occasions, Mum was treated with excellent care and support. Mum was encouraged to dress and eat all with kind support. All the staff were friendly, hard-working and engaging with the residents. The food was plentiful and Mum always enjoyed her meals. Everywhere was clean and well-kept. There was lots of interactive entertainment, Mum was extremely sad to leave Henning Hall. As a family, we wanted to thank all the staff for the wonderful care of Mum.

I would like to thank all the team at Henning Hall for their caring professional nature. My mum spent 6 weeks at Henning Hall and every single member of staff was excellent. The friendly welcome when we arrived set the tone for her whole stay. She was treated with dignity and professionalism throughout her stay. They supported her to regain her independence after a difficult stay in hospital. She regained weight, strength and confidence and I cannot thank them enough for looking after my mum and also for the very warm welcome I was given every time I visited.

My mum has been in Henning Hall for 3 weeks, I cannot believe how wonderful this place is, they have cared so much for my mum and met her every need. They have made her feel very comfortable and anything that she has wanted they have done for her. I have visited lots of nursing homes in the past visiting relatives but this nursing home is by far the best, I cannot find one fault. Thank you for everything.

I want to thank all the nursing staff, healthcare staff, entertainers, cleaners and admin staff for recently looking after my grandma. They were brilliant with her. Always attentive, caring and kind to her and our family. The home was always immaculate and her room was spacious. They really helped her get back on her feet and feel more confident. We can’t thank them enough for organising medications, assessments and meetings whilst also ensuring grandma was mobilised safely. It’s the best nursing home in the area!
