Staff are very friendly helpful and respectful. mum is always kept safe and her privacy and dignity are always maintained to a high standard, The activities keep mum entertained and she especially likes it when the school children come to sing. The home have an excellent activities programme.
Mum enjoys
the food and tells me the staff are very nice to her,, I feel I can approach the office and speak to the manager/assistant manager in confidence and know they will help me with any thing I need without any judgement

My mother was a resident at Oxton Grange Care Home, Wirral from June 2022 until December 2024.
Right from the start I knew I had chosen the best care home! The atmosphere when walking through the door to look around, was warm and welcoming.
The whole Oxton Grange team, no matter what their role,
all played their part in providing first class attention and consideration.
But it was the love, compassion and dedicated care shown to my mum at the end of her life that really blew me away. It was quite exceptional.
In addition, at that extremely difficult family time, the support given to me personally, and to my elderly father, was truly wonderful. I was humbled by their genuine kindness.

Mum has lived at Oxton Grange since February 2024. She is always telling me that the staff are wonderful and that she is treated like a queen. From my experience visiting her most days, I have found the staff to be extremely kind and caring and very helpful to us. It's a really lovely place.

Oxton Grange is a lovely, clean home with the loveliest staff. A safe and happy place to be. The staff go above and beyond with their thoughtfulness, kindness and care to all the residents. Everywhere is clean, the food is good, and the facilities are good too. A beautifully kept garden means sitting
out on a nice is an absolute pleasure. My mum is happy and settled, and I am happy that she has the best possible care. Thank you all at Oxton Grange.

We were lucky enough to be invited to the practice garden party at Oxton Grange in readiness for the home fully reopening, hopefully, at the end of June. What a lovely afternoon it was. Admittedly we were blessed with the weather, but the event was so well organised. Each family was in their own social
bubble, so all felt very safe. The staff are just so caring and attentive to both residents and their families. It was a lovely afternoon. So looking forward to the full reopening. Thank you to the manager and team for such a wonderful job.

My mother has been in Oxton Grange for 18-months and is being very well cared for. Staff have tried very hard to keep residents and their families in touch during the lockdown period from March 2020. We have had Zoom calls, pod visits, garden and house visits and yesterday a garden party with live music,
drinks and food. It was wonderful.

Just spent a wonderful afternoon in the garden at Oxton Grange with entertainment, ice cream, food and summer cocktails! Lovely to see residents dancing, singing and waving along to the live musicians. You could see the joy on everyone's faces to be back to a relaxed gathering. Great, as always, to
see the staff no matter their role chatting with residents. Thank you.

After looking around many care homes to try and find one suitable for my parents, I was pleased and relieved to find Oxton Grange. My mum has lived a happy and fulfilled life here for the last five years, and my dad enjoyed three happy years here.

The home is happy, welcoming and well lead, there

is warmth and kindness as well as professionalism about the staff who always treat our loved ones with the dignity and respect they deserve. The home has its own minibus, and the activity coordinator, who is at the top of his game, organises fabulous and interesting days out for the residents, and the residents family can also come along. There is a regular timetable of stimulating, interesting and fun activities each day, and there is always a reason for a party.

The home has a shop from which the residents can buy their own toiletries and help to run, the residents are encouraged to have their role to play according to their ability.

I moved in 10 days ago now and have settled well. Everyone is so kind and caring. The food is 10 out of 10 and the cook is very funny, he always makes me laugh. The care staff are kind and helpful, nothing too much trouble. I'm so glad I moved here.

This has been a challenging year for all care homes in the light of Covid but Oxton Grange have done everything they can to not only protect our loved ones but have truly been there to provide the warmth, love and affection for the residents whilst family haven't been able to visit indoors.
Oxton Grange
normally have visits from the local nurseries, church groups, singers etc and obviously, that hasn't been able to happen but all the staff including the cleaners and kitchen team have stepped up to provide fun and entertainment. Zoom and Skype calls to family and friends have been a lifeline and now a wonderful visitor pod that's warm and welcoming.
So thanks to every single member of the team at Oxton Grange. The home is so clean and the food varied and nutritious. So missing the cakes!
Whenever I've spoken to outside medical people such as mum's doctor/optician/nurse, they always comment on the standard of the home and its caring atmosphere.

I have never seen my Mum looking so well and happy. The staff manage her needs with such dedication and with total dignity, and encourage her to join in, making her use her memory as much as possible, and interact with others. We could not be more happy with her being in Oxton Grange.

I visit my sister on a regular basis - usually once or twice each week. I have always found the staff extremely pleasant, helpful and willing, very kind and loving to all the residents, without exception. They keep a close eye on everything that's going on and if a resident shows any forms of distress,
they reassure and comfort them immediately.
I think they all do a wonderful job, always with a smile on their faces.

I was at a party celebrating a new "corner" at Oxton Grange. The buffet would have graced any top hotel. The atmosphere was just brilliant. The staff are all as kind, considerate and helpful with the residents. I have been going regularly for the last 3 months to visit my friend and have never seen
or heard anything that I would question. All staff, from cleaners, laundry etc to management show the same care, respect and attitude to the residents. Laughter is so evident frequently. Well done Oxton Grange.

I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff in Oxton Grange. My father-in-law was always treated with the utmost care and the caregivers always had time to relate stories of his day. Whatever time of day we called we were greeted with open arms, with friendly smiles and made to feel right at home.
Despite a difficult disease to manage their patience and tolerance shone through.

Overall very pleased with the level of care my mother receives.
Her room is kept clean, she is well fed and kept warm and clean.
The staff are kind and attentive and happy to help when asked to.
On a few occasions her nails have been very dirty and I wonder a.) how can this happen and b.) does this
reflect on the general level of cleanliness?

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.784)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.784) out of 10 for Oxton Grange Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.867 for Oxton Grange Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (53 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.867
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.917 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Oxton Grange Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.417
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
