I chose to come into Oxton Grange to give my friend a break. This is one of the best moves I have made, the staff are very friendly, it's like home from home. I can have visitors when I choose and they are made to feel welcome. The home has lot's of activities and I love seeing the school coming in
to join us. The food is varied and of a good quality.
Home from Home.

Exceptionally cheerful, friendly staff who have a great understanding and patience with relatives and residents. The home is bright and cheerful. Lots of activities and spacious rooms on the ground floor in particular. Grounds are well kept and attractive. A van totally at the disposal to the home would
be an added advantage. Increase in transparency welcome. New decor, chatterbox excellent. Changes according to season etc are all stimulating. Food attractive, tasty and well presented. Relaxed atmosphere. Nice view from my relative's room which adds interested in each day. Great sense of humour around. A move of room was extremely well handled.

After a difficult period, there is now a huge improvement in all aspects of my care at Springcare Oxton. Banter is important to me and thus this is now much in evidence. I now feel so much more relaxed on a day to day basis.

Oxton Grange is well run and focused on individual and personal care. There is a wide range of activities, both within and outside of the home, and the food and drink is varied and of a high standard. My mum particularly values the kindness of the staff and visitors are always made to feel very welcome.
The rooms are attractive and there is a large and well-tended garden that residents and visitors are encouraged to make regular use of. At Christmas and on other special occasions, visitors are invited to share celebrations with their relatives so there is a really homely and welcoming feel about the home.

The care my mother is given at Oxten Grange is exceptional. Mum is treated with respect and dignity. Everyone who is a member of staff has become her friend. This really is a home from home. When a loved one is presented with a traumatic time in their life they need help and support and the ability
to settle quickly, the staff at Oxten Grange have accomplished this. The Oxton Grange is clean and doesn't smell is kept to a high standard. The activities are excellent and the resident's families are encouraged to join in and are supported and involved in the care of their loved one.

The care my Mother-in-Law received was excellent, up until the last few months of her life Oxton Grange brought new life into her. She enjoyed joining in on every activity, it was really nice to see her so happy.
The care my Mother-in-Law received during the last few months and days of her life were

The care and support Mum received was good. She always looked clean and tidy and sitting in the lounge when we visited her. The staff were cheerful and welcomed us with friendly chat including Mum in the conversation. We could visit at any time. Some of the staff worked for an agency. The permanent
staff worked hard and nothing was too much trouble. On mum's discharge the manager and staff were very helpful and professional.

My mother was extremely happy and well cared for at Oxton Grange Care Home. The home and staff provided her with a safe, caring, and happy home for the last year of her life, until she passed away at the end of June this year. She was treated with dignity and respect, and love from everyone who who
was involved in her care. I cannot fault any aspect of her care and would recommend Oxton Grange Care Home to anyone looking for a home for their loved ones.

Oxton Grange is an incredible care home. All the staff are kind, supportive and exceedingly patient. As well as caring very well for the residents the support they give to the relatives is excellent. The care the staff give to my husband is outstanding. I cannot praise them enough. they never fail to
give loving care. I would not hesitate to recommend Oxton Grange to anyone seeking care for a relative.

When we were told mum needed to go into a care home, we were very nervous due to the negative press about care homes. Thankfully we found Oxton Grange and we are so pleased with the home, it was such a relief. We know that mum is safe and all her needs are met with kindness and thoughtful attention.

The

staff are excellent. Apart from their necessary duties, they take the time to get to know the resident and their individual needs, both mentally and physically are identified and catered for with love, care and enthusiasm.
There is always something happening to entertain the residents, from poetry sessions to trips to the local garden centre and sometimes further afield. I am very pleased with Oxton Grange and would strongly recommend it.

My mother has been looked after for nearly four years in the most caring considerate and capable way. As a former nursing sister she has high expectations she often says. "if you have to be in a home you couldn't do better than this one" Despite her behaviour becoming profoundly deaf overnight she is
happy in Oxton Grange. Our family are happy too.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.784)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.784) out of 10 for Oxton Grange Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.867 for Oxton Grange Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (53 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4.867
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.917 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Oxton Grange Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.417
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
