I am so grateful for the care being given to my mother, she has blossomed since coming to wheatlands, it feels like a family and like she's been here for ages. thank you so much.
We love having Mom as a part of our family.
Staff are very helpful and kind. Everyone is lovely the activities are very good we join in as well food is also good and cake is so nice. Very clean. Rooms are a nice size as well.
Thank you for your kind review, we are glad that you enjoy visiting our home and we hope to see you again soon.
The Wheatlands is a lovely place and the staff are caring and respectful The refurbishment is really lovely. However I'm not sure how you can justify the price you charge
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Were delighted to hear that you find the Wheatlands to be a lovely home, appreciate our caring and respectful team, and enjoy the recent refurbishment. We always welcome the opportunity to discuss our fees and services included in more detail, so please dont hesitate to get in touch with us direct if you would like to speak further
Very good experience. Happy home, visitors always welcome, it feels like a proper home. There are some safety issues which hopefully will be solved. Not sure about value for money, staff efficient and friendly.
Thank you so much for the review we are looking into the safety issues that you have raised and I am glad that you find the staff to be efficient and friendly
As a visitor I am always struck that the house does not feel (or smell!) like a care home which is a joy.
Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for your review I am glad that you feel so comfortable visiting the home and we look forward to welcoming you again.
My overall review of Barchester Wheatlands Care Home was good. I spent 3 weeks respite there in May this year. The care was excellent by hard working staff with plenty of smiles! My bedroom was tastefully decorated but short on plug sockets and the toilet in the en-suite had dark staining in it, but was advised there were no cleaning products allowable under COSHH regulations to remove it, but otherwise standards of hygiene and cleanliness were excellent. The food was good, considering residents requirements and in generous amounts. Activities were varied for those who wanted to participate and run by enthusiastic and friendly staff members.
We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
It was a real pleasure to bring my three young sons to visit their great-grandmother at Wheatlands. All the staff were eager to greet the children, offering them drinks & snacks and making sure we could all be comfortably sat together with my grandmother outside. My grandmother is clearly at ease and well known in the home, the friendliness and care is tangible and it brought her a lot of joy to be able to welcome myself and the children in for a visit - it will be a precious memory for them to have had an enjoyable experience visiting this comfortable, accomodating, happy home.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, both residents and staff enjoy seeing children at Wheatlands. We pride ourselves to ensure all our residents and families feel at home. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
There are nice views out of the windows of surrounding countryside
Residents are taken out on occasion to events in the town
There are numerous activities if they wish to join in.
Overall it looks a clean happy place to live out your final years.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to share this review. It means so much to our team. We enjoy welcoming all visitors to our home and look forward to your future visits.
The food always looks amazing, with good choices & lots of home made cakes & biscuits - visitors often included!!
I always recommend The Wheatlands when I can.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. It means so much to our team. We truly enjoy enjoy welcoming you to our home and look forward to your future visits.
Reception staff very welcoming, nursing staff very caring and meals very good. Nothing was too much trouble
Many thanks for this wonderful feedback received. It is always important to understand how the care we are delivering is being received. This allows us to also see areas where improvement maybe required. I will share this feedback received with the Team so they can also see how appreciated they are.
I have been visiting the Wheatlands, Much Wenlock for over a year and each time I have found, for over a year and time I have found everything wonderful ... lots of helpers, all of whom have been so caring and friendly, and the whole building has been so welcoming. I couldn't recommend it enough.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review of our home, and the care we provide here at Wheatlands. I read your review with pride in the team and will be sure to share your comments. Thank you again for your glowing recommendation.
My mother is very happy living at the Wheatlands Care Home. She says she feels very fortunate to be here. The staff are amazing and so well trained. Mum loves sitting out in the garden which is lovely. The food is very good and I know that she is safe, so I don't worry as much.
Many thanks for your wonderful feedback. It is important we receive the feedback so we know how we are doing and what areas we can improve on to ensure the residents happiness here in their Home
The care my mother receives is absolutely excellent. The staff are superb and retain their senses of humour despite the long hours and demands placed upon them. The activities are varied and mum gets taken to soup lunch in church which is always a highlight. It is a lovely home but the staff make it what it is - they should be cherished. Thank you to all of them!
Many thanks it is always wonderful to receive such a validating review. it is important we receive reviews to help those who are looking for a care facility for their loved ones so they can see how other family members feel. The wonderful feedback will be shared back to the Team as it is important they understand how well thought of they are also
The support we have received from the team at Wheatlands has been exceptional. The manager and I, have been communicating for at least 18 months, waiting for the right time and availability. She has listened to me every step of the way, which gave me huge confidence in the fact that Wheatlands would be the right 'home' for Mum.
The members of the team that I have met are friendly, kind and compassionate, they treat everyone with a level of respect that you rarely see these days. I for one can't thank them enough.
At last, I can sit back and relax knowing that Mum's needs are being met and that the team will also keep an eye on my father for me as he is a 'regular' visitor.
Many thanks for this wonderful review. It is so reassuring to know that you felt supported by the team during this difficult time of choosing a suitable home for your loved one. We thank you for your feedback as it is so important for other families going through a similar experience to see how understanding and supportive we are as a team.
Visited a long term friend and found the home to be warm and friendly. Greeted at reception and offered a warm drink and slice of cake. Staff very friendly and approachable. Would highly recommend this home.
Hello and many thanks for this lovely review you have provided. May I thank you for the time it has taken and reassure you that any review we receive is taken seriously. We shall look into the areas that have not scored so highly and will ensure actions are taken to ensure we continue to provide the best service to our residents and families. Kind regards, Lea-Ann.
My mum arrived a year ago at the Barchester Wheatlands Care Home for permanent care which was an emotional time for her and for all of us children. We cannot believe the worry that has been taken off our shoulders. Mum really enjoys her life at the Wheatlands. The care team are dedicated, caring and best of all, 'fun' individuals who together create an incredible team! We are always welcomed too with a huge smile and a warm hug.
Many thanks for this wonderful feedback. It is always good to receive feedback so that we can review our processes to ensure the care we provide is to the highest standards.
My uncle has been well cared for and is thriving, the carers are lovely, nothing is too much trouble for them. Food is lovely and rooms and the home are clean, it is more like a hotel than a care home. The family of the residents are treated like family also.
Many thanks for this wonderful feedback. It is important to us to see where we are doing well and what areas need improving. All feedback is shared with each department and hearing such wonderful feedback really ensures they continue to deliver the best care possible.
I have visited our friend in the dementia unit. From the moment I entered, there was a warm, helpful and friendly welcome. Loved the displays along the corridors. It was obvious that the staff were caring and knew the residents well. On Sunday, which was my third visit, two of us joined our friend for Sunday lunch. This was first-class and served by attentive staff. It benefitted our friend who felt she had gone out for lunch. I am very impressed how this very active lady has settled, which is so good to see. Very impressed with the activities. It is so vital to stimulate the residents. The best home in such a lovely setting. Well done.
Mum's mental and physical needs were cared for with happiness, dignity and kindness.
Thank you all staff, I would highly recommend the Wheatlands.
Hello Alison, many thanks for your wonderful feedback received. We do value this feedback we received and ensure all are relayed to the team. It is important for us to learn ways on how we can improve if needed.
My aunt is well cared for and enjoys all of the activities that take place, and is always complimentary of the food, especially the soup. All of the staff were all friendly during my visit and couldn’t do enough to help. All of the family are so happy that she is in such a warm and friendly environment.

In 2017, Paula returned to Wheatlands full-time as a Senior Care Assistant, before being promoted to Deputy General Manager in 2018. In 2021, she took the next step in her career, becoming General Manager at our sister home, Field House in Church Stretton.

I have worked at the Wheatlands since 2015. I started as a carer on nights and I have now been promoted to Deputy Manager.

My name is Lisa. I joined Wheatlands in 2018 and was promoted to Administrator in 2021. I am responsible for all the administrative and financial aspects related to the running of Wheatlands. I enjoy welcoming residents and family into the home and helping to assist with the financial side of their stay.

I have worked at Wheatlands for 12 years now, I work nights and I have a really good relationship with the residents, I enjoy spending time with them as well as making sure they are completely comfortable and cared for.

I have worked at Wheatlands since November 2002, I started as a carer and have worked my way up to Senior and then Team Leader from September 2021. I am Team Leader on Corris House and have worked on there for five years. I live in Telford with my partner, I have three children, two of which work for Barchester Healthcare and my youngest is at Secondary School. I am passionate about my job and like to make a difference to the people I care for and to make sure they live a happy and comfortable life.

Carla commenced in the care sector in 1992 as a carer and has progressed in her career enjoying the interaction and commitment by looking after residents in a person centred way. Carla joined the Wheatlands in 2015 as a team leader on the elderly frail community she was then promoted to the administration team in 2021 where she still has daily contact with the residents within the whole home as well as the general running of the office.
Carla lives in Telford with her Husband Steve and has 2 grown up children and 3 grandchildren

Katie moved to Shropshire 6 years ago and was interested in a career change due to always having been in the Hospitality industry. She came to work at the Wheatlands as a Laundry assistant and it soon became evident how much passion she had for Activities.
Katie transferred to the Activities team and became the Activities Coordinator in 2022 demonstrating her dedication in ensuring the residents lead a varied and rich life. Katie is always looking for new ideas to promote our Life Enrichment and is always involved heavily within our local community with regard to promoting the Home

Since moving to Much Wenlock when my children where young, I have always enjoyed being involved within the local community from volunteering at the monthly church soup lunch to being the receptionist at Much Wenlock doctor's surgery.
Jackie befriends new residents and offers a warm welcome to their new home to help make the transition to life in our home as friendly as possible by introducing her to other residents and accompanying them to activities.

As resident Ambassador, Bridget provides invaluable insight and perspective from a residents point of view on the day to day management in the home.

I started this role in June 2020, and I have over 20 years of experience within the hospitality sector.
I love producing excellent quality nutritious meals for the resident and their loved ones, whilst always taking into consideration individual likes and dislikes.
I enjoy chatting with the residents and finding out what their favourite classic meals are, and then adding them to the menu for them. I try to keep a wide variety so there is a good choice for everyone.
