My mother is very happy here and looks forward to returning when I take her out. That really says it all but they are kind, caring and attentive to detail.

There is a relaxed, friendly, welcoming feel to the environment which is warm and homely and the food is excellent.

In a recent survey, we were asked by the management to use two words to describe Bonehill Lodge and I was very pleased to call it caring and homely. Despite an understandable staff turnover the management maintains a good standard of personnel and have very recently recruited albeit part-time a dedicated activities coordinator. The home caters for a cross-section of needs which are well met by the staff. Could do with a tea/coffee area for visitors.

Freshly cooked food daily. The hairdresser visits twice a week, a very pleasant person. Activities are now frequent and varied. Management is effective and keeps the family informed in decision-making matters. We would recommend Oak Wing without hesitation for the care of persons with different types of Dementia.

My mother took up residence at Bonehill Lodge in late August. There were some minor teething problems and my mother found it hard to adjust at first. However, any problems were quickly resolved by the home and the management went out of their way to both sort out problems and keep in touch with us as her family.

My mother has now really settled and appears to be very happy with the service she is receiving from Bonehill Lodge. Seeing my mother happy and settled has made the whole family worry a lot less knowing that my mother is being properly cared for.

I have visited other family members and ex-colleagues in a number of care homes. None come anywhere near as homely and friendly as Bonehill Lodge. The staff at Bonehill really do care.

My wife has been resident since July 2016 and settled very well due to the dedication of all the staff. I am very pleased with the way my wife is coping with Dementia and its very different moods, this is due to the care she has and is very relaxed in the home. My faith in this home has exceeded my expectations and I have every confidence for my wife's future.

My mother has been a resident since March 2016 and the care she has received has been excellent. The staff are very friendly and patient to residents and visitors. The office is always open to answer any queries. Although she has dementia, my mother has been very happy since she moved into Bonehill Lodge and has made new friends. Her waistline has also expanded due to the excellent meals.

My mother has been a resident at Bonehill Lodge for 2 1/2 years and during that time she could not have received better care. The staff are so kind and treat all the residents as individuals catering for their differing needs. My mums condition has deteriorated recently and the understanding and sensitivity to her problems has been reassuring and very much appreciated. There is a very caring ethos with the home and the staff always appear happy and cheerful. They are approachable and always willing to talk to relatives when needed. I know I found an establishment with an exceptional level of care. I would strongly recommend it.

The home has a very warm and cosy feeling. The staff always appear happy and very caring and loving towards residents. The home is well staffed. Residents are treated as individuals with their personal needs catered for. All residents are clean with well washed and ironed clothes. It is traumatic for families when a loved parents needs the care a home can provide and staff and management are kind, considerate and helpful during this transition time.

The first day we took mom to Bonehill Lodge we were a bit apprehensive about her initial reaction but we needn't had been. Mom settled straight in, loved her room which we had decorated to her taste. On many occasions we asked mom if she was happy being at Bonehill she always replied that she loved it and felt safe and cared for.
The staff at Bonehill Lodge are all very caring and very importantly easy to converse with.

Thank you all for your care and kindness towards our lovely mom.

My Lovely Mom came to Bonehiil in May 2015 after a fall and several months in hospital which she hated, We were reluctant for her to go in a home as she was very independent beforehand, but it was her choice which we respected. After viewing others, we felt Bonehill would suit mom as it is very homely and we felt that the transition for her would be made easier for her because of this. We were allowed to personalise her room (in fact we decorated it to her style). However Mom surprised us by wanting to spend most of her time in the main room with the other residents. She made friends, one lovely lady in particular. We told mom on numerous occasions that if she wanted she could stay with family, her response was always that she was happy there and felt safe. The team that worked there were very caring and loving towards Mom and laughed at her cheeky sense of humour. One member of staff even bought her a little gift back from her holiday, as she knew that it was a place that mom had liked.

The team were always there if mom had health problems and would not hesitate to call the local doctor. she had chiropody treatment and a hairdresser would call in. They knew that mom hated baths so would wash her down seated. The care was personalised to each persons needs.

I will be honest in that I first found it a little strange to see so many people sleeping at times in the main room, but then asked myself, would I have felt the same if I had popped over to mom when she was at home and found her having a nap, The answer was of course not, its just the same its just that they are having a nap together.

My only criticism and this is not of the home itself, is that due to low funding for these homes staff levels are not ideal, I feel that residents could spend more time in the garden during summer if the staff levels were higher.

Mom sadly passed quite suddenly and unexpected this week, I wish she had been there longer, but at least those final six months were where she was happy and felt safe and loved, Thankyou x
