Reviews

9.9 Claybourne has a Review Score of 9.9 (9.885)

The Review Score of 9.9 (maximum of 10) for Claybourne is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 21 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Claybourne in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 10 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.885 for Claybourne is calculated as follows: ( (223 Excellents x 5) + (29 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 252 Ratings = 4.885

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Claybourne is based on 10 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 9.2 positive Reviews (46 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 10 Reviews ÷ 9.2 Target Reached = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My elderly parents moved into Claybourne almost eight months ago. My father suffers from dementia but my mother, who was his carer, does not.
They settled in quickly, the home has proved an ideal place for them to be and meets the needs of them both very well.
The atmosphere is very friendly, the facilities and activities are excellent and the staff are caring and highly professional in all that they do.
I really enjoy my regular visits and have been made extremely welcome there. Our family is really pleased that Mum and Dad are being cared for so well in such a warm and loving environment.

My father has been at Claybourne for the past 6 years and I have never had cause to complain about any element of his care. He is well looked after in all respects and is treated like a member of the family. The home really is a 'home from home' with both his physical and spiritual needs fully met. His health is monitored on a daily basis and every effort is made to ensure that he is happy, his mind is stimulated and that he is talked to with kindness, understanding and with a genuine interest in what he is saying.

There are excellent systems in place to ensure the efficient running of Claybourne and the home manager and all staff are welcoming when I visit and are always approachable regarding all aspects of my father's care.

All staff are consistently caring, helpful and friendly. All staff take the time to talk to residents as they are passing or are with them. All staff involve the family of the resident and encourage a family atmosphere.
There is a calm feel to the building and lots of smiles.
The ability to gain access to the gardens at any time of the day is a blessing.
It is a light, airy, loving care home where everyone is respected.
Carefully chosen activities are available every day and residents are motivated.

It was my mother-in-laws birthday when we arrived. They had organised a tea dance and a cake was made especially for my mother in law, she was made to feel very special by all the staff. She enjoyed having a dance which she hadn't done in years, it was a lovely day. She was even presented with a birthday present from the staff, she really felt special and loved by everyone. I cannot thank the staff enough, the family enjoyed the day as well. Thank you.

Mum's now been at Claybourne for 1 year and soon settled in after initial anxiety at leaving her familiar surroundings.
She'd previously lived alone in a bungalow, lacking mobility and enduring the onset of Alzheimer's with no day-to-day company or mental stimulation.
Her physical well-being was also at risk.
At Claybourne she is safe. She is well looked after by a team of friendly and professional carers, clearly enjoying the attention she receives.
There are plenty of activities that she can participate in, and the home provides a wide choice of nourishing meals.
Claybourne is of excellent design, is sensitively and effectively managed, and is maintained to high levels of cleanliness and security. The gardens are a delight and easily accessible for the short walks that Mum thoroughly enjoys.
I consider myself fortunate that Mum is at Claybourne. To know that she receives such dignified and compassionate 24-hour care is settling for me and allows me to spend quality time with her.

My father-in-law was a resident at Claybourne for a number of years before passing away this month. The home was his home, the staff our extended family and when my father-in-law moved into Claybourne he regained a vitality. The care was exceptional, the activities were always stimulating, the food was of the highest standard, the gardens were lovely to walk in and the home was always clean and everything well maintained. As a family, we could not fault Claybourne or any of its staff and would recommend it to anyone considering a home for their relatives.

When I initially visited Claybourne with a view to my mother becoming a resident there I was immediately met by a warm and friendly atmosphere. I Felt very lucky when my mother was offered a place and now five years later, my opinion, remains the same. All management and staff are very approachable and residents are always treated with respect and compassion. The various activities on offer ensure that residents are kept motivated and that they remain alert and active for as long as possible. There is a choice of freshly prepared nutritious food and special diets are catered for. Resident's pastoral needs and faiths are met by regular fellowship services with their own MHA Chaplain. At Claybourne, body mind and soul are all nurtured.

From first contact, Claybourne was welcoming, friendly and efficient. The general atmosphere of the home is relaxed and caring. The staff are dedicated and kind and do all they can to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment. There is a varied programme of activities, including a number with an explicit Christian character. The home is excellent at keeping us up to date with any health changes or developments and, as relatives, we always feel welcome.

A lovely care home that is well maintained and looked after. Every aspect of the home is exceptional from the care staff, food and cleanliness. Senior management is very approachable and if there are any problems they are soon sorted. There are always plenty of activities for the residents and church services are held on a regular basis. I was particularly impressed with the well laid out and maintained gardens.

When my mother moved into Claybourne the manager told us that their own aim was to offer a 'home for life'. We were fortunate to experience this.
Eighteen months after arrival Mum had a severe stroke. When after 6 weeks in hospital she had made no progress and was unable to swallow, Claybourne arranged for her to go back there for end of life care.
She spent just over two weeks being looked after by her usual carers, under the care of the GP and with district nurses on hand when necessary.
The chaplain visited and read to mum as well as talking to me.
I was looked after in a gentle and unobtrusive way with cups of tea and sandwiches whenever needed. Mum was afforded love, respect and dignity.

What a truly beautiful place to visit residents in. From the initial phone call through to being met by delightful men on the carpark- all most welcoming. The manager and the chaplain all made the visit lovely. The care staff were happy and welcoming and at great ease with all the residents. We truly loved the environment. Well done everyone for creating such a beautiful environment.

Mum lived at Claybourne for the final two years of her life and we felt she was very well cared for there, with genuine love and affection. We (her daughters and families) were always made to feel very welcome by all the staff when we visited Mum, no matter when we called in. We always felt kept up to date and informed of Mum's condition and this was very important to us, as her dementia meant that she couldn't keep us informed herself. The design of the home and the range of activities really seemed to enhance Mum's quality of life while she was there. At the end of Mum's life, my sisters and I were able to be with Mum, and the staff at the home were attentive and caring towards both Mum and towards us, without being intrusive, throughout her final day. We could not fault the care that Mum had at the end of her life, and we felt very well supported by the staff at this sad time. So glad someone recommended MHA to us when we needed a dementia home for Mum.

Living abroad and only able to visit around every 12 weeks makes it extremely important that I'm confident in the services, facilities and levels of care and support that are provided by the home. MHA Claybourne without any doubt, fully meets all of my requirements. Every time that I visit, I continue to be impressed by the care and dedication of the staff and the high standards that this home achieves. Unfortunately my Mother as known to me was lost a long time ago and all that I can do for her now is to ensure that her well being, comfort, safety and care is the best that can be offered. MHA Claybourne and it's wonderful stall provides all of this and more. It is indeed very special and provides me with the peace of mind that my Mum could not be in a better place and could not be better cared for anywhere .

The care of the staff at Claybourne is wonderful. They seem to love the residents and always look out for them even when the residents can be very difficult. Email contact seems to be poor but the level of care is far more important and so I would highly recommend Claybourne. It is always warm, clean and homely. There's always lots of activities too for the residents and families.

Mum moved in here at the end of January 2016, she has had a wonderful time. She is so happy here, this is because the staff have taken such good care of mum. My mum lived on her own before entering Claybourne, she has early onset Alzheimers and needs a lot of support, she gets the help she needs being her. The staff are so caring and always shows compassion. Mum will express how much she loves it a Claybourne and how she never wants to return home. My sister and I have great peace of mind now. Thank you.

We spent a long time visiting care homes to find the best home for mum. I visited the home three times before making a decision and was so impressed by the consistent friendliness of the staff, the help and advice we received and the warm and friendly atmosphere. We, the family, were supported as much as mum was on the day she transferred to Claybourne. Staff were helpful, kind and reassuring. Although sadly mum's stay at Claybourne was short, she was happy and settled from the day she arrived. Family members and friends were always made to feel welcome and we were encouraged to feel part of the Claybourne community. I would highly recommend visiting.
