Elm Lodge is a modern, purpose-built Care Home that was built in the mid-1990s offering personal care. It was purchased by its present owners, Reason Care Ltd, a small family run business, in December 2012.

An experienced Manager runs the Care Home, supported by a Deputy Manager, a team of Senior Care Assistants, Care Assistants and Ancillary staff, many who have achieved or are working towards NVQ qualifications and are experienced in working with the elderly.

Elm Lodge is registered with the Care Quality Commission service and provides temporary or long-term care for a maximum of 46 male and female Service Users over the age of 55 years with residential care and/or dementia care.

The home is always open to visitors, the only restrictions are during meal times unless you wish to eat with a family member. Social gatherings and companionship are encouraged, thereby providing a warm, friendly relaxed environment.

My father-in-law came here in April due to being unable to cope alone at home.
Best thing ever, he is a lot happier and more back to the man we knew.
Staff are more than happy to help with anything needed.

My sister-in-law went for respite in Elm Lodge Care Home about six years ago but I wasn't very impressed but she needed a place to stay while her bungalow was being adapted so I thought try Elm Lodge Care Home once more but this time, it is so different. In fact, she is so happy, I think she will opt
to stay. The decor is lovely, food is so good and think people should know just how nice it is. A big thank you for making the residents so happy.

Thank you to all the staff at Elm Lodge. You've all shown so much care and understanding to Mum and to her family. The atmosphere is cheerful and welcoming. Although Mum struggles sometimes to settle, she says people are really kind to her and she's not unhappy. For Mum to say that is huge, as realistically

My mum is well cared for. The staff are kind and understand her needs. I live far away, so I am not able to visit in person often. I do, however, communicate with her via video call, which the staff are always willing to facilitate.

I am always welcomed and they answer all my questions. My mother has been looked after very well. She loved the care home and it's staff. Staff always inform me if she has a fall. I am welcome to come anytime to see her. They inform me about if a doctor has been and explain well if anything changes
in her care. The staff go above and beyond to ensure she is happy and cared for. I think this care home would be hard to beat, with the friendly staff and the way they care about their residents.

My mother was in the care of these people for close to 7 years. She was badly affected by Dementia. I can only give the highest praise to the staff, their care and understanding of my mum's wishes on a daily basis can only be commended. All the time that Mum was in their care, I could not find fault,
the end-of-life care at Mum's end was amazing. Not only to Mum but also to the family. I have nothing but the highest respect for their excellent care.

My mum was a resident for 6-weeks, and despite the Covid procedures, I can’t praise the staff enough. The kindness they have shown to myself and my family has been outstanding, each and every one of them has shown us care and compassion far beyond anything that could have been expected.
My mum, even
though we did not get to see her much, was happy, settled and extremely clean each time we did manage to see her.
From my experience, albeit it was only very limited, I would advise people to try with everything they have got to get their loved ones in this care home.
I hope my personal thanks and gratitude are passed on to the staff because each and every one of them really does deserve it.

I have been here on respite care for nearly 6 weeks now. On my first night here, I was upset as I didn't know how long I would be here for. The staff that night explained to me that I wouldn't be here that long, just until I was ready to go home, this was very reassuring, and from then I settled in
well. I have enjoyed it here because all the staff from the management to the cleaners and all in-between have been marvellous. It has been enjoyable to be here. If I ever need to be in respite again, I wouldn't go anywhere else, only Elm Lodge.

Amazing staff, always ready to go above and beyond the call of duty. Very caring and loving, some even buy my mum things out of their own pocket. The activities are great, they have organised outside visits for shopping etc.

Job Title: Registered Home Manager Joined: 2022

I have worked in the health and social care sector since 2012 a complete career change. I started out in community care working my way up to senior care assistant.


I then transferred to a nursing home where I was fortunate enough to be able to complete my NVQ Levels 2, 3 & 5 in health and social care and management.


Having had close family who lived with dementia it was important to me to be able to help others who have dementia but also support the families.


I have extensive experience, training and qualifications in delivering care for dementia, elderly care, acquired brain injury, cerebral palsy and other diagnosis.


I have completed and published research into dementia and sundowning. I am proud to be a registered National Dignity Champion and continue to push forward for positive changes in the social care sector - to promote living well with dementia.


My aim - supported by my team is for Elm Lodge to be a home from home for everyone who passes through our doors, for everyone to feel, safe, respected, empowered, cared for, to smile every day but most of all happy.
